Nugent, Ted - Live It Up Lyrics
We need the time to rock away
a little work and then some play
workin' hard to feel good
now it's time to really live it up
I just can't stop, Got to live it up
Now's the time for really gettin it down
ain't no need in you hangin' around
skin to skin is how it should be
it's tough to touch everything that I see
Can't you see, I'm hap happy
I just can't stop, Got to live it up
Sure been fun but it's time to go
just so we take you where you want to go
the sled outside 'll take too long
cause we can rock and light a song
Can't you see, I'm hap happy
I just can't stop, Got to live it up
Got to live it up
Got to live it up
Got to live it up
Got to live it up
Got to live it up .......

Nugent, Ted Live It Up Comments
The nuge
The motor city madman.
Live it up with sweaty Teddy. Lol. Detroit rocks with Chicago
Ted you rock like you did in 78'!🇺🇸
I think this was Ted's best band. Every track on this LP is rock solid and tight.
Escuchaba ésto en el 82.That song makes me Happy.
Surfing YouTube, heard the band GLITTER DOGS. Sounds like 70’s rock!

This album changed my life
Sweaty Teddy. Grange n St. Holmes. Live it up always 👍👍
Got to hunt it up
Most underrated Nugent / Holmes song of them all.
Lucky enough to have seen Ted 13 time's so far
Thanks Ted, always loved this song.
"I Want Candy"... excellent variation on a time worn rhythm. Derek St. Holmes vocal (as usual) is sheer perfection. This might be my favorite cut on the album along with 'A Thousand Knives'.
Not really. Different tempo, different key, completely different chorus.
There's only 7 notes to work with in music. Everything's been done before. One thing's for sure... Ted is richer and more famous than you and I will ever be.
🤩I never noticed before! I was listening to Bow Wow Wow's version and picked up on the similar drum pattern right away. I think it's more noticeable on their cover than the original Strangeloves' version. Makes me wonder what Ted would have sounded like with two burundi drummers like Adam & the Ants! Of course Nugent's got such a fantastic history behind him. I love his Amboy Dukes material just as much as the first three solos.
The Dukes were excellent. I really like the two albums right before Ted's first self titled solo debut ('Call of the Wild' & 'Tooth, Fang, and Claw'). Actually, Michelle, these are all variations on the Bo Diddley Beat; Bo didn't pioneer it but he's generally credited for the shuffle rhythm that pops up throughout rock history. His version of 'Who Do You Love' (George Thorogood did a great version also) is one of the first... I bet Ted could shred that one. Other examples are Buddy Holly's 'Not Fade Away', Bowie's 'Panic in Detroit', Springsteen's 'She's The One', Clash's 'Rudie Can't Fail', even Johny Otis' 'Willie & The Hand Jive'... and don't forget The Who's 'Magic Bus'.
I'mma listening since 78 I always thought it was Ted Nugent singing all those songs until about five years ago LOL
....man I woke up at 4:00 am this morning with this song running around in my head for some rockin' roll reason.....hmmm? Wtf.........? Heh, THE first and second main solo's,,,.... Holy Sheep Shit, SO bad ass. If you listen close in them not to them at times you can hear a tube or so just crying with a beautiful primal ring. I wonder what amp he did this with? Its mind blowing. Anyway..what a great tune to wake up to!...... Must be The Spirit Of The Wild calling me? TED, THE WACK MASTER. Miss you in Jackson Mi. man! \,,/
First song I ever played on the radio back in '80...
The motor city madman
Sweaty teddy rocks Chicago.
That's where he formed The Amboy Dukes.
The only reason I gave Turd Nugent a thumbs up is because Derek St Holmes made Turd a star and gets literally no credit for it.
Derek rocks. Turd is a piece of shit

"Workin hard to fill your cup"
Ted, PLEASE, just Shut-Up & Play !!!!
I love free speech, don't you ?
Dude's just plain assed craaazzzy
What a great voice Derek and Nugent lyrics.
Great team huh? 😉
@Ruth Carter .....ditto you comment. The solo's in this tune ....totally incredible!
Derick was the real driving force behind this band, too bad he wasn't treated as an equal for his contribution, he should be the wealthiest.. hope he is doing fine
Derek was the real talent in the band, too bad the group was named after a turd.
Check out GLITTER DOGS. New music, 70's retro sound
