Nugent, Ted - Death By Misadventure Lyrics

Hear him on the radio. See him on the news.
See him on the TV. Y'a hear him sing the blues,
Welcome to his nightmare He's been through the mill.
Death by misadventure. A case of overkill.

He stayed awake 'til daylight, didn't believe in health.
He never saw the sunrise, didn't believe in wealth.
Wrote dramatic music, was a rollin' stone.
No one understood him, they just left him alone.

Hear him on the radio. see him on the news.
See him on the tv, hear him sing the blues.
Welcome to his nightmare he's been through the mill
Death by misadventure, a case of overkill.

Death by misadventure
Death by misadventure
Death by misadventure
Death by misadventure
Death by misadventure
Death by misadventure
Death by misadventure
death by misadventure

Just find ya some fuckin culture club
And shut the fuck up ok

  12. J.... A....

If the voice doesn't sound like the voice on "Wango Tango", it was Derk St. Holmes (Hey Baby, etc.) or Meatloaf (Love You So I Told you a Lie, etc.) kickin' it into a higher gear.

  13. B.... ....

This , 1000 knives , and Out of Control are the best tracks on this album , great follow up to Free For All , I think it eclipses that album

  14. B.... ....

This album was a nice surprise follow up after the so so Free For All album.

    B.... ....

    Meatloaf was good on it

  23. C.... C....

That Rob Grange bottom on bass never gets enough credit.

  24. n.... ....

true this song is about Bon Scott? I saw Bon's death certificate in a rock and roll book said

cause of death "death by misadventure"

Ted toured with Bon and AC/DC, anyone I have ever talked to got along with Bon fabulously, sober or whatnot, Bon was merely a drinker and rarely done drugs if any closets mates have said..

long story obviously any idea this is about Bon or just Teds brain working in overtime?

    n.... ....

This album came out in 1977...Bon died in 1980...

    n.... ....

steve busa WTF? Brian Jones isn't was a Drummer...GUITARIST AND MULTI-INSTRUMENTAL

    n.... ....

sorry he was a guitarist but the song is deffo about him

    n.... ....

steve busa yes...he was a amazing musician with amazing talent

    n.... ....

yes he was my friend, he formed the rolling stones and give them there name too

  25. D.... K....

is it true that Nugge died in hunt accident??

    D.... K....

    yup 86 times

    D.... K....

    whos "nugge"?

    D.... K....

A "nuggie" is what this troll is smokin.

  26. R.... J....

    Killer Ted strikes again!

  27. G.... S....

  28. s.... b....

brilliant track love it, was it ever realesed on a single?

  29. L.... B....

Another brilliant song by the Nuge.

  30. L.... ....

HE SO FUCKING BELONGS IN THE RNRHOF!!!!!!! but he will never get in. They FEAR what he would say in his acceptance speech! His first 3 albums ALONE makes him eligible as far as I am concerned! Not to mention Double Live Gonzo! In the mid to late 70's it was IMPOSSIBLE NOT to hear Uncle Ted on ANY FM ROCK station or party we all attended! He was played just as much as all the other classic rock stars of that era.Its to bad the RNRHOF is bullshit!!! the Beastie Boys and a BUNCH OF GARBAGE RAP FUCKS are in and the Motor City Mad Man is NOT!!! FUCK YOU RNRHOF Uncle Ted is too good for your lame ASS!!!!!

    L.... ....

Fuck the Rock and Roll Hall of Shame. Accept bands that Rap and don't induct people like Kiss till recenlty. They are a fucking joke. Especially the board or pricks

    L.... ....

Rock & Roll is ROCK AND ROLL! Let them make a freaking rap hall of fame; stupid friggin people.

    L.... ....

+LesSmith45 The R&RHOF is run by incompetent cunts.

  31. L.... ....

Derek sang this song???? I thought for decades Derek bailed because Ted said "You can only have one alpha male and that was me" before this album. But it read that Derek came back and sang the vocals for this album. I clearly remember a guy that was two years ahead of me in HS in 1977 who worked at Thriftway. A grocery store that sold albums back in the day. He came up to me and grabbed this album off the rack and told me I needed to buy it NOW!!! I did of course. All these years I thought Uncle Ted sang these songs.

    L.... ....

Meatloaf sang 4 songs on the Free For All album due to spats with Teddy

  32. m.... t....

This song is about Brian Jones!

    m.... t....

    Really?

    m.... t....

    Really?

  33. J.... V....

AT 1:18 AS OUR BLACK BROS SAY IT GOES OFF THE HOOK..UNCLE TED ONE AND ONLY...

  34. J.... L....

death by misadventure need I say more!!!!

  35. R.... W....

the official coroner's report at the time of brian jones' demise

  36. G.... P....

Not sure where you get your info....but this si Derek St.Holmes on vocals and NOT Ted.....ALL the good vocals are Derek.

    G.... P....

oldschool1963. This is definitely Derek on lead vocals. The only songs Ted sings on this album are the title track and wang dang...

    G.... P....

    Ted also sings Sweet Sally

    G.... P....

    Thats right!

    G.... P....

TED WAS THE BACK UP VOCALS EARLY ON.

    G.... P....

Or Meatloaf on Free For All

  37. J.... S....

I remember back in the day they said, ted and derek played strats on this song?

    J.... S....

Absolutley not.Ted never played srtats,he says they don't have the depth of the hollow body byrdland.

    J.... S....

Never....? It was 30 + yrs ago I heard Ted on a radio show the DJ asked if it was true he and Derek both played strats when they recorded death by misadventure. After a few mins of Ted messing with the guy said, they did. Ha! The inside cover Derek is playing a strat.

  38. R.... Q....

Well; hmm..my original issue was soaked in whisky .probably a good idea. Great work on the guitar hear..masterful.

  39. A.... M....

he looks like hes tripping nut sacs:)

    A.... M....

    yup, pretty muuccchhh.

    Me too.

    R.... C....

    Bad Assery!

    R.... C....

He did back in the day , seen him several times in the 70's & 80's.

  42. L.... ....

One gets the impression Ted's a big 'Stones fan.

  43. m.... c....

southern comfort goes well with nugent albums

  44. R.... P....

Yea,this song is about Brian Jones (first guitarist and founder of the Rolling Stones),his death was ruled "Death By Misadventure"

    R.... P....

@Sam Stationwagon Dang what a kool thing to have written on ya big toe tag !

    R.... P....

    He was a Rolling Stone.

    R.... P....

Fun fact. Bon scott - former AC/DC frontman had the same thing written on his death certificate.

    R.... P....

I thought Ozzy's Suicide Solution was about Bon Scott? I know it wasn't intentional. But it was, in a sense, suicide. Maybe Brian's Jones too. Or it was murder. The truth may never be truly revealed.

  45. D.... P....

vinyl 727's channel is gone due to 2 people I know Debbie Stout  and Dino A.K.A. Loren Smith Junior. They do not have you tube accounts.

  46. b.... b....

I had this on 8 track...nope Im serious...

  47. B.... G....

    Sorry, meant st Holmes. Haha

  48. B.... G....

Correction: st James is lead vocals. The rips, lets give him deserved credit

  49. h.... c....

Vocals are Mr St Holmes....Boz Burell on backing vox..yeah...Boz and Rob Grange!!!..Ted is a blessed to have bass royalty in the room..

  50. C.... G....

Love the man's tone!!! C# tuning? One of my fav guitar solos of all time. Yes.

  51. c.... ....

    Negative. Vocals are by DSH.

  52. D.... A....

    HELLS YEA !!!

  53. H.... ....

I believe this is Ted. :)

  54. M.... P....

who sang lead on this,Ted or Derek St. Holmes?

  55. J.... F....

Go Ted, Go ! Rock On =_=

  56. k.... l....

    I have this album, (vinyl)

  57. d.... ....

  59. d.... ....

i once heard that it was about alice cooper

  60. d.... ....

    DSH baby!

  61. e.... w....

    hes returning as prezzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  62. H.... ....

Yeah, I agree this is some fine Ted work. This guitar solo in this is just too awesome.

I actually loved this work with the Damn Yankees, their 1st album is everything that I want in an album. Its well produced, the songs have the right amount of sleaze, the guitar work is great and the songs are easy to sing along too. Their 2nd album isnt as strong but has a few good songs on it. Ted in this album and in Nugent are probably my fav of his work though.

Many thanks for your comment. =)

  63. l.... b....

Ted at his finest. a peak he never returned too. though he certainly tried with the yanks...

  64. z.... ....

I heard Ted on a radio interview back in the 70s say that this was about Brian Jones.

  65. L.... N....

    Great song!
