Nothing - Heavy Water / I'd Rather Be Sleeping Lyrics

This feeling doesn't go away
I feel it moving through me
I want a love I had inside
Want to feel it moving through me

In dreams
I'm moving through heavy water
The love is enormous
It's lifting me up
I'd rather be sleeping
I'd rather fall in to tidal waves
And go where the deepest currents go

I opened a mirror up
And saw a true love
I let it separate in two
The water rising up over my head

In dreams
I'm moving through heavy water
The love is enormous
It's lifting me up
I'd rather be sleeping
I'd rather fall in to tidal waves
Right where the deepest currents fall

I just found out about this brilliant music. Typed out "Grouper - Cover over" and ran into this.

  5. A.... A....

The cover reminds me of M.B.V’s Loveless.

    A.... A....

It's practically a Sometimes cover as well.

  6. p.... ....

    M.... G....

Michael Giurato how can someone covering a song you like ruin the original song for you?

    M.... G....

  15. s.... ....

    Grouper is untouchable

  16. a.... ....

That was unexpected... Great cover of great song!

  17. s.... ....

nobody can cover a grouper song and do it justice.

    s.... ....

I think they did alright. I've seen her perform 3 times, once in a church and another in a Masonic Lodge. They picked the right track to cover imho, but it's her live performance that cannot be touched.

    s.... ....

shannon marenco it’s not that they did bad. it’s just that no one can really match her sound with her way of recording to 8 track paired with the intimate sadness/mood that she brings to her music. the song just doesn’t feel special hearing it covered here, and it bothers me because the original means a lot to me. it probably means a lot to the fellas in this band too, i get that. this is all my opinion though, i’m not saying i’m right or that anyone should/has to agree with me.
ps i saw her perform at ambient church, i have a feeling we were both there !

    s.... ....

@seasoakedperversion we were!! Wasn't that incredible?! That was the last time I saw her. The acoustics in that room were phenomenal. Every time I've seen her was pure joy, but that time was perfection. Don't you think?

    WTF happened to Relapse?

    S.... ....

    absolutely right!!!@Son of Sheba

    S.... ....

    Nothing

    S.... ....

Shoegaze is better than metal. Fight me.

    S.... ....

@Revealing Storm its not simply because it lacks the diversity of metal, and of course it does, its a subgenre while metal is an entire genre

    S.... ....

If you'll recall, Nickelback made a metal label a ton of money that permitted said metal label to release more metal albums. I love death metal but Nothing is also one of my favorites

  21. A.... P....

This. This is good. This makes waking up a little easier.

  22. m.... s....

I have this on the deluxe vinyl version, it’s another banger!
