Northlane - Weightless Lyrics

Weightless my body
Floats in eternity
Weightless beyond the earth's gravity
A euphoric perpetual gaze
I taste the light of days

Beneath a luminescent haze
I cross the convoluted maze
Guided by familiar sight and sound
I let go of what weighs me to the ground

Weightless my body
Floats in eternity
Weightless beyond the earth's gravity
A euphoric perpetual gaze
I taste the light of days

Heyy, I’m bringing awareness to love.. would be so thankful if you checked out my instagram guyyyss! @awakening_unity

  6. F.... B....

So I used to pretty much dislike this album because of how different it is from what got me into them (Singularity). But I never give up that quick, I always see what bands are doing new. Seeing where they are today and listening to this again for the first time in years, has given me a new respect beyond anything any other band I’ve listened to puts out. They said fuck it, and did their thing, and stuck with it. And they kick ass at doing it. What I’m trying to say is Marcus, nic, and other members I can’t think of right now, thank you. For being an inspiration. Your music has truly influenced my life.

  7. A.... M....

The band has come a long way. Liking this direction.

  8. T.... G....

    So Deftones. Love it

  9. a.... ....

    So fucking dope

  10. T.... D....

    This album changed my life.

  15. A.... L....

amazing lyrics amazing songs. I just found this band and i love it

  16. g.... r....

    overrated vocalist

  17. R.... ....

I did not like their previous work. Somewhat heavy for the sake of being heavy. But mainly in sound.
However I don't think this album is light. If someone tries to look into the lyrics the material is not light at all.
    5/5

  19. R.... ....

I shit on Marcus early on into his replacement and it was just because I hate change. Marcus is a fucking amazing vocalist. Pumped for their next release.

  20. L.... ....

I literally listen to this album at least once a day ever since its release. its so unique and makes you feel connected with the universe lol. the lyrics are very cleaver and prove a good point in this album

    L.... ....

so u already listened that album about 730 times?

  21. D.... B....

    Yeah!!! The best!

  22. s.... ....

fuck i get goosebumps everytime when the guitars come in at 1:47

  23. D.... M....

I just can say that... this band is taking the music in a very spiritual sense, riffs are simple, but with little complex touch. Music is a culture way , culture is about methods to auto express itself.
I think they are in the trying to get it.

  24. T.... S....

I really like this type of music, but only the clean vocals, when they start screaming.. its hmm i just dont like it

    T.... S....

    you'll get used to it

    T.... S....

+Thomas Saddler That's what I thought too. I just had to get used to it. My brother used to play Periphery's first and second albums all the time when we would drive from place to place. Now I love both just by being exposed to it.

    T.... S....

This makes me wonder how it would sound like with Marcus's cleans and Adrian's screams. :o That'd be awesome. I think.

  25. R.... M....

    This is just too intense!

  26. K.... L....

I hated this album at first because it was different but I love it so much now.

  27. S.... B....

Holy shit I am in-fucking-love. This album is the shit. But how could you expect any less with Northlane???? Wow this song is so amazing

  28. S.... O....

This is a wicked song, gives me the best vibes.

  29. W.... S....

Dunno about you guys but I actually think Northlane got better. Their sound is a LOT more mature now.

  30. G.... ....

2.50 onwards has to be the most intense emotionally amazing music I've ever heard

  31. C.... J....

Really hope this is a song they perform live... Their heavy ones are insane, but this one have so much emotion...
3:10 gives me goosebumps every freaking time

    C.... J....

+Christian Johansen They play it live mate and its so sexy

  32. C.... L....

    Best song ever heard

  33. m.... ....

My favorite song for sure 😍😍

  34. s.... k....

what a great album i love when music like this comes around, changes up your perspectives and challenges your beliefs about life.

  35. R.... M....

northlane I will be seeing you soon watch this space

  36. O.... ....

    Everyones so hostile to change.
Change is the only way to move forward in life, the song is good, chill.

  37. d.... ....

I love that they're experimenting with their music. Adrian and Marcus don't deserve to be compared. They're in a league of their own; two unique, independent, awesome people with passionate/deep feelings about life. Old & new Northlane is stunning. 10/10. Node is my fave album of the year, running closely with some of periphery's new stuff. I remove my hoody in honour of the music.

    d.... ....

    @dougymoo Best comment, man!

  38. l.... ....

As an old northlane fan (since the first EP) i've got to say that this is my favourite song by then, not kidding. This is something else.

  39. t.... t....

    this whole album is flawless.

  40. S.... C....

The chord at 2:15 had me shivering

  41. T.... P....

Awesome song, can't wait to see them live

  42. Z.... ....

    p0stlane

  43. C.... M....

It's crazy how a few minutes of music can just make your mind fly. I love the way this song portrays someone "floating in eternity" and it's so easy to believe because the soundtrack embraces the lyrics perfectly. I think Marcus's voice is what Northlane needed to achieve a piece like this one. Their new sound is growing on me :)

  44. K.... W....

What I don't get is the people that are saying that Northlane has changed for the worse are the SAME people that are probably gonna download their album illegally...

  45. J.... P....

Even though this isn't the sound a lot of people wanted, the character of this band is more prevalent in this album than any other. I'm absolutely obsessed with this album right now and feel sorry for anyone who isn't.

  46. C.... ....

I half expected to hear Bono during the intro

  47. E.... K....

    3:00 to 3:45... Chills intensify.

  48. J.... K....

love the new style! if you guys love northlane please give my song a chance: /watch?v=dclwEZbN2HU

  49. E.... p....

    Best Song after soma.
    In love with this.

  50. T.... B....

How does this video have no comments what the hell

    T.... B....

Wait never mind. It was just my phone being a dolt.

    T.... B....

    +Torque Bow :') xD

  51. z.... ....

    This is amazing!!!!!

  52. A.... ....

Anyone who has an appreciation/knowledge of musical composition will understand why this album is so great.

  53. J.... G....

    Man I'm so wet 😱

  54. C.... D....

Probably my favorite song on the album wow.

  55. H.... H....

I got a guitar cover of this on my channel, check it out!

  56. G.... C....

Such a good jam. 3:58 onwards takes me to another place. A place in the mountains. Anywhere on Earth, really. And then out into space.

  57. W.... ....

Weightless, Weightless, When mex gains weight he could care less
[11:20:17 PM] Dylan | Dumb: posting that on youtube
[11:20:17 PM] Dylan | Dumb: lmfao

  58. I.... ....

Weightless, Weightless, When mex gains weight he could care less

  59. Y.... S....

This isn't Karnivool this isn't Tool this isn't Niki Minajaetoi THIS IS NORTHLANE.

  60. M.... M....

This whole album gave me a vibe of:
Linkin Park, Deftones, TesseracT, and Old NorthLane... Safe to say I'm in love? Yup.

  61. T.... ....

The whole album is so smmooth.

  62. H.... ....

Yes, I love the old Northlane, all the way from Hollow Existence to Singularity. I had mixed feelings about this album, but now, after listening to every song one after the other on constant repeat, I now see the future of Northlane. This album will be nothing short of spectacular.
I loved Adrian, but the drums, bass and guitars are still there and I can't get enough. I like the new direction Northlane has taken and I will support them no matter what they do.
    FAKIN' BLACKTOWN, M7.

  63. M.... N....

I was skeptical with their old compared to the new but I think the new singer came in with something to prove and he proved it.

  64. N.... S....

    They're musicians, not prisoners.

  65. H.... ....

Haven't gotten chills this intense from what the chorus in this song gave me in a very long time.. It felt so euphoric. Going to buy the album today. I have a new greater love and respect for this band now. I love the style, album art, message, instrumental work, the writing.. Everything just fits so well.

    H.... ....

    couldn't agree more

    H.... ....

+Hansol A EFFIN MEN Hansol. You said it for me and probably a lot of other people as well. I've always enjoyed this band. It's songs like this that really influence and touch people. I just hope someday I get the chance to record and produce something like this!

    H.... ....

+Hansol Weightless my body, weightless beyond earths gravity.... i get goosebumps listening to this song.

    H.... ....

I dont know why but this comment of your made me feel really cool, cuz you're right. Iv'e been following this band since their begginings and they've never dissapointed me. <3 <3 <3 all the love

  66. J.... E....

I'm sorry guys, but this is probably the worst song Northlane's ever done imo. THE WHOLE ALBUM IS AMAZING. But I can't stand this song,
They try to come off as intimate and heartfelt in this song but its this strange slow ass time signature that's really bland and hard to sync with. Its a really weird clash between soft and still trying to be complicated that's entirely unnecessary. The vocal structure's uninteresting and lines like "eter........nity" where it sounds like two different words is just bad songwriting. I feel like its not Marcus' fault with the track he was put up against. But the whole songs a boring uninteresting mess.
I'm sorry if that's an unpopular opinion. The rest of the album is gold. But this song sucks.

    J.... E....

@Justin Elswick it's only boring because you're still in that phase where metalcore is the greatest thing in the world to you.. Hate to break it to you but when you get older you appreciate the slower music a lot more.. This is easily the best song on the album

    J.... E....

@Brendon stacey so because I don't like this song, you automatically know my taste? Huh, oh great fortune teller please tell me more about what I do or don't like.

    J.... E....

@Justin Elswick you listed why you don't like this song in your comments and the ignorance in them was enough for me to figure out your deal

    J.... E....

+Brendon stacey my ignorance? I'm ignorant because I dislike something? okay. I'm done with this

    J.... E....

No the points you made were ignorant

  67. I.... ....

Oo that chorus definitely sounds a lot like Let the guilt go by Korn

  68. C.... C....

Watching/listening to these guys progress has been like following Thrice all over again.  I love it.

  69. I.... ....

When this intro plays, the voice in my head starts singing: "Lookin out a dirty old window, down below the cars in the city go rushing by...."

  70. I.... C....

I'm loving this album so far

  71. M.... ....

    chills all way through

  72. D.... S....

These new songs definitely don't make me want to punch faces like old Northlane or the first version of Rot, but this one's pretty to listen to I guess.

  73. E.... N....

    m a s t e r p i e c e •

  74. J.... W....

This whole album sounds somewhat TesseracT-ish

    J.... W....

@Weeaboo Destroyer Except tesseract isn't boring. Not hating just saying.

    J.... W....

Lololol well I'm not going to lie, Tool actually came to my mind when I was listening to this album, so it's funny to see these comments... And I dooo listen to Tool... It's not that it explicitly sounds like Tool... But there's just something about it... I can't put my finger on it!

    J.... W....

@Chelsea Murphy I'll help you! You need to move your finger just slightly further, you're looking for A Perfect Circle! At least that's what I think but Maynard has to be a strong influence on this album

    J.... W....

@Jason LovesPWD  I've got to admit I didn't think about this comparison and it seems quite accurate. Yet, regarding mine, I feel like the whole atmosphere of the album, in the way the lead guitars melodies and singing respond to eachother, has a kind of Apc/Toolish vibe in it

    J.... W....

+Elie Sutter I agree with you it sort of does

  75. P.... J....

This album isnt exactly terrible but its definitely a step down from singularity. I feel like northlane focuses a lot more now on the message that they're trying to deliver instead of the sound. Nothing wrong with that but it's not the northlane that I discovered and loved.

  76. K.... R....

Gives me a deftones feel (and i love deftones, just saying)

  77. h.... ....

This song is like the perfect soundtrack to Interstellar

    h.... ....

Holy fuck, I was just watching that last night, I thought "someone should make a montage to this song in the background of interstellar.

  78. M.... C....

This song is so good, best on the album. You have bands trying to become more listenable to a wider range of people. In America, they change into Nickleback/Imagine Dragons (looking at you We Came as Romans and OMAM) and in Austrailia looks like they're aiming for Karnivool, and I LOVE IT!

Usually not a fan of drastic change in musical style but this is freaking fantastic.

  79. T.... G....

Did they forget to mix this or something?

    T.... G....

Lol the mix is pretty good idk what you're talking about man

    T.... G....

@xXMetalxLoveXx it lacks total heaviness and rawness

    T.... G....

@Gaius Caligula They wanted to go for a spacey mix on this album over a heavy one, it's mixed this way because they chose to mix it this way.

    T.... G....

+Gaius Caligula Lyrics of Impulse are for you man.

  80. M.... B....

    This song is perfect

    M.... B....

    @Matteo B nah

    M.... B....

+Vince Floccari u don't know a shit about music mate

  81. M.... c....

Im gunna have to look up some of these big words :/

  82. A.... P....

    Best one!

  83. d.... ....

it reminds me of deftones for a reason..

    d.... ....

@JimIsTheMan I can hear that! Sounds a bit like digital bath and rosemary

  84. e.... ....

Drums / riffs could almost be Karnivool.

    e.... ....

    @evanpotter And I LOVE that.

    e.... ....

    @evanpotter http://31.media.tumblr.com/489c81cc8ed8310be6f590f1aeca87dd/tumblr_mg7ryhTJxL1rsm741o1_500.gif

    e.... ....

The syncopation in this album is fairly similiar to Karnivool, love it!

    e.... ....

The timing is also in 7/8 so the proggyness is there too hahaha

  85. C.... ....

This is one of those albums you will have to listen to as a whole to love not just singles!

    C.... ....

    @ChrisMetal_Covers trueeeeeee its brilliant

    C.... ....

Chris97k I used to do that when I was younger, But now I prefer to listen to full albums. Once you do it, You’ll never regret it. Many hidden gems. ^ ^

  86. K.... R....

... Say what you want, but nobody can write like these guys. Even if their style no longer adheres to your taste. It's still amazing in it's own right. And those who fail to acknowledge or even try to understand that are naive and should really look into their composition further than "It isn't heavy anymore". Get over it. Learn to love their new direction or stop listening to it. Nobody asked for your hate comments. I'm not 100% used to their new direction either, but its growing on me quickly and I can see this being one of my new top albums on repeat. I love their heavier stuff, but I will also probably love their new stuff just as much, if not more. They've been a huge influence on my writing as a musician, and despite the absence of syncopated open string slams, I will still listen and find new inspiration - whether my music follows the path they've chosen or not.

    K.... R....

@Keegan Robert Meiring i would say you hit the nail on the head. tbh the tone the band is taking kinda reminds me of how deftones progressed from cd to cd

    K.... R....

@MCAdrien9606 Progressive Metalcore. Hardcore influnces (mainly Adrian's vocal technique) but i personally have always considered them progressive like Volumes, Structures, Erra, etc. They aren't as technical but they fit well under that. This new album has alot more ambient/grunge influence. Idk what i would consider this album to be. lol

    K.... R....

+StarShredder777 a mix of Metalcore & nu metal like the likes of Linkin Park & Deftones

    K.... R....

I would say this has a very "a perfect circle" style to it.

    K.... R....

    Well said bro

  87. R.... ....

Safe to say this is my favorite Northlane song to date

    R.... ....

@ReprogrammedToHate same man, i love the feeling i get from listening to this one

    R.... ....

    And still is

  88. J.... ....

I can't even pick a fckn favvvvvv I love all of this album aghhh

    J.... ....

@Jason LovesPWD Leech is my favorite hands down. I mean, every song rocks, but Leech gave me chills. This one has an sweet vibe to it as well.

    J.... ....

@Jessica G My favorite is Impulse! It's in my head constantly haha. They are all amazing indeed!

  89. G.... B....

Boo-fuckin-hoo. Everyone wants to comment about how they've changed. They want to actually have a career playing music. If they can still write badass music like this and do more than break even after every tour, good on em. If you want the sound they once had, there are plenty of 30 year old metal musicians still living with their parents making late payments on their used cars.

No, I'm not hating on heavier music.

No, I'm not discrediting those who make heavier music and sacrifice having normal independent lives.

I'm not even comparing Node to their older work.

But I'm happy to see Northlane making themselves a longer and more successful music career.

    G.... B....

    @George Brand "more successful "

why does change mean "more succesful"?

"If you want the sound they once had, there are plenty of 30 year old
metal musicians still living with their parents making late payments on
    their used cars. "

why does not changing your overall sound mean that you are a 30 year old failure at life?

I'm not even going to comment on the new album,it's pretty good (even thought I prefer their previous stuff),I'm just baffled at your logic.

    G.... B....

    @thesimguy1905 this

    G.... B....

@George Brand You pretty much hated on heavier music and discredited those who make heavier music yes. This music is not badass at all, it's actually pretty fucking weak. It's not bad, but it's just nothing close to being powerful as the music they used to do. They didn't have to change like that to have a better career like you seem to say. They did it because they wanted to do so musically. They could've a released a strong, heavy yet melodic record like their two older records and the critics would've been great and it's wouldn't have affected their career. That's just a stupid way to think as you can't know what woul've happen if they didn't change, you're just assuming it's better this way.

    G.... B....

+SuperBattlefieldGuy fuckgoogle. dude its not always about heaviness. amibitious goals can change over time. maybe their music career has made it to this point for a reason maybe instead of goosebumps they get a spiritual high from making stuff more from the heart in a mroe emotional sense. think outside the box. everyone wants change eventually. as long as its not to be a mainstream selll out than i see nothing wrong with it

  90. R.... S....

What the fuck is this? I don't understand how a band can change this much in 1 album... this is not the northlane I got into.

    R.... S....

@ReprogrammedToHate vise versa, i get a linkin park feel, not tool. They just need to hire mike shinoda to complete the final form.

    R.... S....

Old Northlane, excluding Adrian, stated that they wanted a different, unique sound when making this album. Did you watch any of the doc videos?

    R.... S....

    Then leave.

    R.... S....

Then don't litter their comment section with your shitty comments. Don't like it? Fuck off, and listen to old Northlane. No one cares.

    R.... S....

+Sophie O'Donnell I'm sorry, I was unaware that the world was made of sunshine and rainbows where people can only say good things. I don't like the change and I have expressed that opinion. deal with it

  91. K.... B....

    Im never first.
