Northlane - Node Lyrics
You can be the change
Pain is the elixir that keeps us entertained
Flowing through a looking glass
Numbing stinging eyes of shame
But our conscience is still stained
You can be the catalyst
The ripple to the wave
You can be the change
One small step will shake the earth
We're sedated into submission
Apathetic addicts
Mindless progress is a dire setback
Humanity is slipping through the cracks
Let the pathways through our hearts guide us
To a universe where love survives us
You can be the change
One small step will shake the earth
Let the pathways through our hearts guide us
To a universe where love survives us

can someone recommend some more songs that have similar intro like this? thanks
Can you make a guitar playthrough??
love the song.. not so much the mix.. think it could have been a bit more impactful
This album has a very strong "travelling" vibe.
The intro reminds me of Limp Bizkit.
My Chill Song
Reminds me of Hot Dog by Limp Bizkit! which is at least for me a good thing :3
Awesome! AsmrNode sent me! 😎
Such a good song
So I used to pretty much dislike this album because of how different it is from what got me into them (Singularity). But I never give up that quick, I always see what bands are doing new. Seeing where they are today and listening to this again for the first time in years, has given me a new respect beyond anything any other band I’ve listened to puts out. They said fuck it, and did their thing, and stuck with it. And they kick ass at doing it. What I’m trying to say is Marcus, nic, and other members I can’t think of right now, thank you. For being an inspiration. Your music has truly influenced my life.
Sausage fingers
I cannot get into the new Northlane at all....
Couldnt get into Node
Couldnt get into Mesmer
It just sounds so......bad, imo.
TheMessiah your ears are garbage then 😂
its beauty running through our ears......
Why would anyone thumbs down this?!
One of the only truly enlightened bands I mean fuck listen to ohm
I’m trying to learn this on guitar but can’t find any tabs or anything
2:15 cool guitar
\m/
That's what I sing when pretty cashier tells me she hasn't change for me.
0:44 PENIS THE ELIXIR.
nice band but this stupid video fucking annoys me
This is melodic art. Keep pushing the boundaries here. Especially appreciate your connection with higher dimensional mathematics. Infinity, quantum, and number is beauty. Tool comes to mind slightly.
I was stowing tonight at Amazon and came upon this album in one of the bins. Immediately the art caught me but I couldn't tell what genre of music it was. Came home from work and decided to look it up, don't regret it at all <3
It always boggles my mind how die hard Northlane fans give Marcus all the shit on the musical differences on this album from the last album, when the reality is that the band has matured more and more as a whole, as their albums progress on release, and the music is better and better every time. It's not Marcus' fault that this album came out the way it did, the whole band had a hand in making this masterpiece of an album, just like last time and the time before. I think Marcus brings something to this band that Adrian simply never could, and I honestly can't imagine how this album would have been with Adrian, rather than Marcus. He's a way more versatile vocalist, and I honestly think he has way better technique, if you want to get right down to it. He's also WAY more consistent live. Every live video I've seen of his singing parts, it seems he is hitting all of those notes, whereas during the small sections Adrian had during certain songs, it never seems consistent on all the live videos, but it does still sound nice. Seriously hear me out on this. I think it's time we all move on, just like the band did, and they're going to ravage us with new music soon enough. They did so well on Equinox with In Hearts Wake, and I just talked to them when I saw them live, and they were more than excited to have embarked on that album split, with no concerns towards the new vocalist at all.
one small step will shake the earth. Absolutely thought provoking.
HMK brought me here.
Holly shit, this is my first time listening to this band. I've wasting my life away.

Just look at the description mate
Dry snare is dry.
linkin park????
raw sound based pn butterfly effect
new age butterfly effect, but not as good
I hope this song will get a music video in future. SO melodic, SO oldschoollinkinparkish, SO progressive. Plus, I really like message behind the lyrics, it`s just perfect choice for next video (if there will be one more ofc).
If the vocalist would fuck off this would be great. Such good instrumentals but the vocals are annoying as fuck
these lyrics are dope as fuck. god tier.
I'm begging you guys to upload an instrumental album of this. or even put it up for sale I'll put it in seconds
this intro is A E S T H E T I C as fuck
The end of this song gives me chills
What. The. Fuck. Happened. This band sucks now. Wow.
The beginning reminds me of the original Deus Ex which is a huge plus in my book.
can u link it?
anyone else hearing "YOUUUUU CAN BEEEEEE THE DJEEEEEEENT"?
Para los que hablan español ya esta la traduccion al español de esta cancion.....
so much quantum flux vibe
This song makes me emotional ;c
Why the gay emoji though.
That guitar though, I think my ears just orgasmed.
Anyone got the tabs for this song?
Beautiful song, excellent fuckin lyrics. Should be on all school curriculums.
So keen to see how this album translates live. Never seen Northlane live before, but I'm seeing them live twice this year, and in January for Soundwave.
+KatsGaming November 14th &15th in Brisbane.
@KatsGaming You're welcome! Any Luck seeing them?
@KatsGaming Soundwave 2016? :) I'm going to the Brisbane one, and hopefully will be able to catch them if they don't clash with any bands I haven't already seen :)
I saw them live on october and honestly...... My favourite band for 3 years has been black veil brides and seeing Northlane was even good as when I saw BVB... They put on an Amazing show and to make it better, I got to meet them all after and get pictures and hugs as it was such a small venue :3
Sophie O'Donnell how'd that sound wave go? Seen them 6 times with Adrian, I dunno if I wanna see them with Marcus cos his vocals don't sound as strong live from what I've seen :(
I like the screaming parts, but can't stand the clean emo, pop-punk shit vocals. Is most of this like the screaming? Or the gross cleans?
Best song!!
Northlane spirit is dead, I'm very sad, it was one of my favorite band...
agreed bud
Ur trash
I love this album so much, I love the fact that it is not over produced, the instruments sound real and raw.
They've retained a lot of elements of their sound, but I really dig the melodic and ambient sections in this album, reminiscent of a perfect circle.
can't stop listening :)
this album is pure gold
Parkway drive - The Cruise
Though I love Northlane this album just isn't for me.
"Penis the elixir..."
I CAN'T UNHEAR IT
great songs! well done lads!
Personally, now that I've heard the album in its entirety I can appreciate it so much better. I think this band is catching heat only from "fans" who think that a band is going to sound the same after a line-up change. Admittedly I was on that bandwagon at first because I loved Adrian's influence on the band, but once you accept that those days are over it becomes easier to open up to this new direction. I love old Northlane, and I love new Northlane, but it is simply not fair to compare the two when it comes down to it, they're just too different.
One day Adrian should be the guest vocalist of all the songs on the new album at one show. As much as I love Marcus, he is doing an amazing job so far. That would just be so rad to hear. Miss that guy to death.
This album is a piece of art!
I'm really bothered by the rythm
Too beautiful. <3
I'm getting some late 90's and early 2000's vibes with this one. Scar Tissue era Red Hot Chili Peppers and some Franz Ferdiand right here. This will probably my new song to reflect on life. I can't wait to see you again Northlane. The new songs are going to be amazing live.
I miss Adrian :( Marcus is good but doesn't feel the same..
Anyone who doesn't appreciate this album is incredibly ignorant. The musical composition of all these songs is outstanding.
I hear so much Limp Bizkit in this song, not vocals obviously though. Just instrumentals, like the intro before Marcus comes in.
It's just not the same. I can't get over it. I don't think I like the direction they're going. Which sucks because they are the reason I got into genres like this to begin with. It's to simple now.
The band's been saying that they've been looking for a new sound for a while.
This song sounds like it's influenced by Karnivool and Linkin Park o.O cool!
YOUUU CANN BEEEE THE CHANGEEEE
+Hansol You are the change, bro. Keep up the good work :)
+Nikolai Hannevold Koritzinsky awwww <3 lol
Catchiest shit ever bro!
YOUUU CAN BE THE CHANGEEE
the part "But our conscience is still stained" i thought he said "buttercup is still stained"
I LOVE THIS FUCKING SHIT!!!!! <333333333
great sound...
There needs to be a disclaimer on this. Something to the effect of, "WARNING: MAY CAUSE MULTIPLE EARGASMS!"
New favourite late night drive song.
What a delicious tune to the ears!! Wow I've never heard of this band until now after listening to some dead letter circus, and coming across them.. God the intro of this song is so mesmerizing with it's beautiful delay settings, what a great song...I'm speechless
* replaying *
I love the mood of this whole album, especially this song
New Northlane has me feeling so nostalgic! <3 Something about the playing style and eerie vibes makes me think about all the 90's bands that I loved so much!
I judged Northlane way too harshly when I first heard Rot and Marcus's audition. I love the ambient thing they got going on right now.
@Joshh Rowsell Same
@Atley Meow I enjoy most of the songs on this album :)
Personally, I think his audition is the only good song he has done as far as Northlane goes. His work with Northlane isn't my taste, but he does have talent.
@Aleksilly listen to alien dawg
Marcus fucking sucks live, I saw them in Feb on the Frozen Flame tour. I hate that Adrian left.
RIP Northlane.
Sure. Q
@Taylor Silverthorne What are you talking about, he sounds EXACTLY like he does on the album.
@Taylor Silverthorne Dude, he had been in the band for a very short time in Feb.
Quit being such a bastard. Northlane is better off now than they ever have been. . .
And True fans see that.
And of course, I love Discoveries and Singularity as much as everyone else, but this album is much more mature. It's a solid record. I hope it makes album of the year, honestly.
@Taylor Silverthorne Interesting, I saw them on the same tour in March and he absolutely killed it.
easier to run 2.0 . amazing song
@Alan Araujo holy shit
aha this is like a modern rebirth of Meteroa but not popularity wise...
EPIC!!!!

Is it just me who feels some Wes Borland-ish vibe at some parts?
I hear it
Wes Borland all over it!
for sure! I love it
guitarist used to cover limp bizkit in high school with friends
Definitely here it. Also in solar
Today I listened to Bring Me The Horizons new song and hated it. I was truly worried that i would be disappointed again when listening to this album for the first time - but I'm very happy to say that I am more than pleased with this album and it just made my day a whole lot better! Thank you :D
Right?! Sounds like radio rock, arena anthem shit. It's so bad
I actually had a nightmare about it last night... Its haunting me because I listened to it >_<
que album mas hermoso *u* aajaja xs
When the very first guitar notes came into my ears, I just melted. Seriously, that guitarwork left me speechless for a bit. It is what I needed from you guys. Thank you Northlane. Thank you Marcus for that voice you got.
Freaking out at how good this album is!
I stopped listening to Memphis May Fire a while back but I have to say that Marcus sounds a little like old Matty Mullins at times
Haha..No.
Anthony Rivera haha yes he definitely does
Such a good song!
Linkin Park
Marcus' clean vocals are incredible!
Let the pathways through our hearts guide us
To a universe where love survives us.....
Also definitely getting a Node Tattoo.
@9rmetal If I found someone who could pull it off perfectly, Id get the prism on their ablum cover
This album is so perfect. It's different from old Northlane, they were heavier. But the atmosphere of this album really hits home in the way Northlane hasn't before thanks to Marcus. He's a great fit for the new Northlane. Great album, boys! Buying it this weekend.
RIP Northlane
Take that back, looks like the majority of the album is soft as fuck.
R.I.P Northlane :/ Rot was some good bait but this is dissapointing.
Go cry to your mommy, this album is phenomenal.
@adtrhasfaithinme It's honestly really pathetic and I'm pretty sad I have to stop following them; just listening to dispossession or quantum flux brings a tear to my eye knowing I won't hear that kind of material from them again.
+BoxOfSt00f just because you don't like it doesn't mean its pathetic. who gives 2 shits how heavy it is? this album is groundbreaking
@Mitch Hazel Groundbreaking? Maybe to an ant.
This album wouldn't have worked with Adrian. Northlane sounds like how they're supposed to sound with Marcus. Fucking love it
I hear Tool intro, deftones, linking park vocal patterns , amazing job guys and made it a northlane song!
The intro reminds me of Neo Seoul by After the Burial mixed with Language I by The Contortionist. Sick song.
@hnjgman That's exactly what I said when I heard it first!
@hnjgman R.I.P. Justin Lowe of After the Burial :'(
@Jonah Garza R.I.P. in pizza
Sick blend.
DUDE YES
This track is one of my favourites off the new album but the whole record is brilliant. Incredible job guys!
This must be the best tune of the album
@sumsarz This song, Animate and Ohm
