Nina Simone - The Twelfth Of Never Lyrics
You ask me how much I need you
Must I explain
I need you oh my darling
Like roses need rain
You ask how long I'll love you
Until the twelfth of never
I'll still be loving you
Hold me close
Never let me go
Hold me close
Melt my heart like april snow
I'll love you 'til the bluebells
Forget to bloom
Has lost it's perfume
And I'll love you 'til the poets
Run out of rhyme
Until the twelfth of never
And that's a long, long time
Hold me close
Never let me go
Hold me close
Melt my heart like april snow
I'll love you 'til the bluebells
Forget to bloom
I'll love you 'til the clover
Has lost it's perfume
And I'll love you 'til the poets
Run out of rhyme
Until the twelfth of never
And that's a long, long time
Until the twelfth of never
And that's a long, long time
A long, long time

Nina Simone The Twelfth Of Never Comments
WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From a mad keen 75yo Aussie fan.
I had the honor to Nina live in London in the late 60's & she was magnificent & held the audience spell-bound.
My mother used to adore this song and her farewell was on the twelfth of the twelfth at twelve in 2017 . That was my twelfth of never ! She was born on the twelfth too but in April, the cruellest month , and this year it was indeed cruel without her. She always loved it when the spring came around again and I felt bereft without her. This will always bring me to tears but in a poignant way. Nina Simone sings this with such emotion and depth as she does in all her songs.
I'm so sorry but the good news iz there's no such thing as deAth [there's a void left behind when that person is missing] but they come home again [hEr voice is so radiant with the promise of Life]
So beautiful and touching
My mom used to sing this to me when I was a little boy to help put me to sleep. This version always reminds me of my mom. I sure miss her!
Empire of the Sun brought me here...
She speaks to my soul
If anyone is unfamiliar with the amazing Miss Simone, or - even if you are, and rlly want to see something terrific, I recommend What Happened, Miss Simone.
