Nile - Iskander Dhul Kharnon Lyrics
Iskander D'hul Karnon
Idolator pagan
Possessor of the horns of Ammon
Conqueror of both the rising and setting of the sun
Where the sun rises from the treacherous fetid sea
Iskander built the gates
With blocks of stone and iron
Poured over with molten lead
Enclosing the nations of Gog and Magog
Iskander is Alexander
Son of Philip
The prophet himself had knowledge of him
Revealed in the cave at Mecca
They speak naught but lies
Dreadful is Muhammad's warning
Surely Hell awaits the unbelievers
On the day of judgments
At the end of time
The earth shall quake
And the gate which Iskander built will be torn open
The hosts of Gog and Magog
Hordes of the fiercest of creatures shall be unchained
And allowed to go forth and ravage the earth
At the hour of doom when the moon is buried in darkness
Evil will rain down upon the wicked
Hell will be unleashed upon the disbelievers
And all the earth shall be laid to waste

For me, one of the best death metal songs. The expression of the pure sense of violence with the chaothical rhythms the song has.
The beginning is tremendous!
Also 333 subs
I've been listening to Nile since 1998 and my hair still stood straight up the first time I heard THIS track. Karl and friends have been non-stop amazing for over 10 years!

Search Alexander the Great In The Quran" on wikipedia. There is a lot of interesting info here on this, I personally believe the Iskander mentioned in the Koraan isn´t actually Alexander, but a properly "improved" version of him to be a hero, and Gog and Magog are also "improved" in the story to be evil peoples, against who the great champion of god prevails. Its all based on history, but used in a more metaphorical way.
It seems Alexander but not.. the Mentioned In Quran, He is Called The Dul Qarnine. search At Sura Al Kahaf. and You will know The Whole thing about Him.. Bt Im sure that he is Not Alexander the Great.
thanks.. :)
i like this song especcialy because this has a catchy sweep picking thats in my head for three days. when it begin at 1:01 for the first time i listen it it was like ?? What!? It was a good first timer. For now its one of my favorite nile songs of the top 5.
being a fan of Nile&Deicide doesn't prevent me from reading the Koraan every night ;) Iskandar along with Gog&Magog are mentioned in the Koran and Nile made it clear that they were talking about the Koranic version of Iskandar dul karnayn.hence the Arabic title of the song since they mentioned the Koraanic version then i felt the need to shed some light on the story cause i my self am Muslim and im well accustomed with Al Koraan.
it's called wikipedia
I love 4:52
Or you can go to your local library and find the actual Koran and read about it. Gog and Magog were mentioned in the Christian bible, but Alexander the Great wasn't.
Dallas Toller-Wade has the voice of Fergy and Jesus
you're aware that Iskandar and Alexander the Great is the same person, right? just to make clear...there has only ever been ONE Alexander from Macedonia who was the son of Philip and conquered the known world and which this song speaks of...he's just remembered with different names/titles in different people's mythology/religion and traditions (Greek, Turkish, Arab, Jewish, Persian, Afghan, Indian etc)...cheers! :-)
it's explaining it self )) this is how Karl Sanders&Dallas Toler interpret&perceive the identity of Iskandar dul Karnayn. Iskandar dul karnayn is an Arabic sentence, it has two meanings since the word karnayn has two meanings, Karnayn means horns/horned one, it means also centuries, Karn=century/horn. Karnayn=two centuries/two horns. Koroun=centuries/many horns.the famous Alexander was pagan. the Iskandar of Islam/Koraan which Nile are singing about was monotheist.
explain the line "iskander is alexander, son of philip" then.
I doubt it. He does have his own youtube channel, but he wears an ankh around his neck all the time. If he was Islamic then he wouldn't wear it.
Pretty sure Karl isn't religious.
One of my favourites of all Nile this one
how dare you insult this album like that
because im a Moroccan metalhead ))) well, seriously, i just like to read! it happens that sometimes i read stupid futile things but in the long run reading pays off!!
oops!! it's not about Alexander the great!! it's about another man called Iskandar which was blessed by God and granted with power&force, during his journeys he was asked by a tribe to help them put an end to Gog&Magog's oppression so he built a barrier of iron&brass joining the blocks two mountains with the molten metal. now you can effectively feel smarter ))) just google Iskandar gog&magog and you will find verses from Al Koraan explaining it.
dul karnayn means: of two centuries! it could also mean two horns since the word Karn means horn and it means simultaneously century, the meaning depends on the context. Iskandar isn't Alexander, Iskandar was a monotheistic man, he worshiped Allah, Allah means God, in french God is Dieu,in Finnish it's Jumala, in German it's Gott,in Spanish it Dios, in slovenian it's Bog, in arabic it's Allah;some people think that Allah is another deity...there's one God and he gave to Iskandar so many abilities
F.U.C.K Y.O.U
I love this song. It's the perfect length for a Nile epic, and the perfect ending to this album.
Ads on a Nile video... I'm going to set something on fire...

@fakhrain an immature 26 yearold that know what the fuck he is talking about
@fakhrain actually 26 and your comment in this song shows yet another idiot that has no gucking clue but yet dares to have an opinion
@DestroyerV3 ذو القرنين or D'hul Karnon was mentioned in Quran but no one sure it was Alexander
Iskander Al-akber= Alexander the great=الاسكندر الاكبر
@fakhrain he is the same (Iskandar) is the Arabic name اسكندر
this is an evil track
One person is deaf
@Odinsboy87 Checkout RUDRA

@briansrl12 I went broke buying this album but it was totally worth it.
Holy Cow! Just got my face melted off. I love the brutality starting at about 1:22
This is the best death metal album ever :p
@shredder370 TWTGD is probably Nile's best album period, at least the best out of their last 3 (don't get me wrong, I loved AOTW and Ithyphallic).
Honestly for me this is their best, followed by In The Beginning. Wrought is my favorite Nile song.
@Reak55 that's the whole purpose of this ;)
nah love him
WTF, HD????!!
@iorost Much better than Ithyphallic I think!
Hahah, gotta love people with no ear to this music and to hear their opinions about how it sounds like a jackhammer destroying their house.
When i put this song on at my friends place he said "Man, what the fuck are you listening to". Haha, love it.
Totally awesome, it's the perfect closing track for the album. Nile never disappoints :)
@javax6 yep, hadn't notice about that. Still this song is just awesome.
No problem dude, no hard feelings. You did come across that way, that's all.
You should check out the whole score album from Queen Of The Damned, it's really good.
The part I'm talking about is from start to 0:11. It's an electric violin, that's what gives it the really cool and creepy sound.
Indeed! In first sound - I thought it is a wrong vid
19.12.09 Eindhoven - Seen them there last year too - AMAZING SHOW!!!!!!
Cant wait to see them again!!!!!
AMAZING BAND!!!!!
Don't get all defensive on Nile's behalf. I was just commenting on the use of it, giving people a suggestion to listen to another cool song yeah? Why don't you do a search for the song I mentioned and you'll find out.
The violin at the start is from Queen Of The Damned Score Album, Secret Passage written by Richard Gibbs & Jonathan Davis
