This is such a devastatingly beautiful, raw, raw song. This year, these last five months, I have lost four very special people..my first love who remained one of my best friends for forty years, my oldest, closest friend (50 years), my dear, sweet religious teacher and another childhood friend... saying goodbye to each of them, one after another, has been hard and I was too shell shocked to cry/mourn them properly until I heard this song. .. one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard..a song that captures the pain of live so perfectly. Stunning piece of music. I listen to it every night before I sleep. I shed a few more tears and then my dear friends return to me in my dreams and I give thanks that such wonderful, unique people were part of my life for so long. Life is painful but it is beautiful too, like Nick Cave's music.

It made me cry also. Maybe not just for people I've lost, but for people I've not yet found....and for that I lost myself.

Both songs have caused grief to shift in me. Grief I feel for my Lover, Jamaal who died six years ago
