Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - She Passed By My Window Lyrics

She passed by my window
Her eyes were all aglow
And bent to pick her glove she'd dropped
From the bright and brittle snow

Nature had spoken it in the Spring
With apple, plum and brand new pear
Have you time for my company?
No, I said, I have none to spare

You gotta sanctify my love
You gotta sanctify my love
You gotta sanctify my love
I ain't no lover-boy

For apple, plum and brand new pear
Soon wither on the ground
She slapped the snow from off her glove
And moved on without a sound

You gotta sanctify my love
You gotta sanctify my love
You gotta sanctify my love
I ain't no lover-boy

hahaha ... if there are really no comments here yet (this video was posted over 7 years ago), and so few views, it is surely because this is track *9*, off the album that people are least allowed to like ... so I guess I need to take it upon myself to declare that this is a fantastic song, top-notch Bad Seeds, and clearly foreshadowing the direction they would take next with Abattoir Blues/Lyre of Orpheus, with the choral backup vocals and such, as well as a more prominent role for Warren Ellis. Listen, people!
