New Order - Everything's Gone Green Lyrics
Help me, somebody help me
I wonder where I am
I see my future before me
I'll hurt you when I can
It seems like I've been here before
Confusion sprung up from devotion
A halo that covers my eyes
It sprung from this first estrangement
No one have I ever despised
Is this the way that you wanted to pay
Won't you show me, please show me the way
Is this the way that you wanted to pay
Won't you show me, please show me the way

This is obviously a bullshit video. The track itself is true. One of their best.
That drumming is farkin insane .
Greatest band of the 80s

Better than Blue Monday in my opinion. And played with this vid it's pure class.
Still one of their best tracks..awesome riff..
4:20 long LOL. Peter Hook in Seattle soon. I'm THERE.

@ 1:21 what's Leonard Cohen doing in a police uniform?
I always thought this was meant to be the next JD single. Always been my favourite New Order track too
Rotters nightclub in Liverpool, happy memories :)

" I see my future before me"
This is the beginning of modern music
Our Love will last forever.
OK, I have a couple of options : 1) I have not watched this video in maybe 20 years, and so I watch now and I can't determine whether these are actual old film footage clips or if New Order did this video to make it look like that. Option 2) I think I'm a little bit high !!
As I believe I have heard the British people say, "Cor."
37 mm gas gun. Far out
This represents my era, and I'm very proud of that!

1remista1 thx
1remista1 thank you
2:09 FALCO!!!
Love love love love this song. What a mix of guitar riffs, drums and fantastic synth... magic
The visuals here match the music surprisingly well actually, the whole industrial/new-wave sound fits very well with the police imagery. I’m curious what this video itself is though, it looks like some sort of weapons test demonstration from the looks of it.
Yes ..loved there early stuff best
Their greatest achievement
New order forever...... la vanguardia ochentera por siempre .
Always been my favorite track since it came out...I'm tripping!!!
Green vs Blue
THE BEST!!!
One of the BIG 3 for me ....Depeche Mode.
..OMD...New order!
Keep thinking the thumbnail is Robert de'niro
Doesn't even look like the guy
Not sure what these police were trying to accomplish, but it seems like they mostly failed. #New Order
still the best new order song by far...
Touched by the Hand of Martin Hannett
Dumb pigs
look at the silly little fucking pigs playing with their toys...
OldPlaces It was during the Cold War to kick some commies ass during riots. Nothing wrong here.
Blue Monday attempts are heard throughout many songs during this era of their music.
The first already-out-there song that I thought of,wierdly I suppose, when I heard Blue Monday (which I bought the first time it came out) was Sylvester's You Make Me Feel Mighty Real.
This is “rien à voir” with Blue Monday. Probably their best after Joy Division.
Mi sembrano tanto le prove generali per Blue Monday, nessuno nota una certa assonanza? Soprattutto nel ritmo del parlato.
magari tutte le "prove" fossero cosi Uniche ;)
Stephen Morris' drumming is out of this world. NEW ORDER is timeless!
Speed: 1.25
There you go. :]
excellent Trak, it's got it ALL. 🍻. ♥
BRILLIANT for 1981!
Its godlike for 2016
Yeah, what does 1981 have to do with it's brilliance? It's even better in 2018
Ages fine for 2 0 1 9
@Baron Kimball idiot. because nothing or nobody sounded like this then. were you even born then? :)
More mod than mod. Where's the footage from and what year?
USA circa 1965 - exactly where, couldn't guess.
It's in California.
silly hippies, this will get you to move along
where's Basky?
This is still a class tune! standers were definitely higher in the 80s! (fact)
Doesn't get much better than this, its a track I always want more from, its the simplicity of the synth and driving jangly guitar riff and the whole new wave meets dance era which is not easily replicated. Its up there thats for sure.
Techno punk some would say, I guess
it seems like i've been here before - about 1,000 times to listen to this track!
Last record that Martin Hannett worked with New Order.. then they developed his technique to find their own sound..
"Seems like I've been here before...."
This sure wasn't from 2006. Sounds more like early 80's. Is this stock footage of cop training or a modern video?
The truck visible at 2.53 suggests mid to late 1960s.
Mark Richardson what you on about mate? you think this was written in 2006?
ToPayIsToFail The video doesn't look 1981 but the song was written back then.
New Order are really fucking underrated
By who??
Not by me
Some snobs out there accuse them of having strayed from Joy Division's visionary past, and to have become a shadow of their former selves. Which is complete bullshit. NO is visionary in its own way.
true...being from Ecuador... i know they'll never come here, but they do have some popularity in Latin America... for example Chile
The vocal melody in this track heavily mirrors the vocal melody in "Blue Monday". Has anyone else noticed the similarity?
Both songs and temptation all contain elements from Donna Summer - Our Love https://youtu.be/6uU9ikIg8FU
@jctoad Elements yes, music no. A stuttering bass drum does not the same song make.
HATE Blue Monday!!
a lot of their songs are very similar.
Yeah. Blue Monday was pop tripe...worse song they ever did. EGG done before.
when will these imbecilic morons stop killing or training to kill other humans
Their best single by a country mile.
I agree - this is one of their best songs......my other favorites are REGRET, BLUE MONDAY and LOVE LESS
Good choice Rigsby
And a hen-pecked husband on a business trip
That's not the song, this is: New Order - Everything's Gone Green
Is this the one where Shamberg's brain became ill? Show me, show me, SHOW ME!!!
The best New order record ever
I can't decide between this and Temptation. Both classics.
My favourite
@Jill J they're on the same slab of vinyl on the EP so you don't have to decide. one of may favourites for ever
25 notrights
perfection
Won't you show me, please show me the way ?
Awesome !!!!!!!!!!!
listen to the drums on Inbetween days and then you'll hear the similarity with Everything's gone green. Hope you hear it. :) and hope I helped. :).
Is this their first recorded track actually written without Ian Curtis? It is damn good!
No this first track they WROTE without Ian is dreams never end, Hooky said it on an interview
This is a GREAT video...
watch?v=_1qgT7UR5ao
watch?v=Xs8Ub-iJ1jY
"tell me how should I feel, tell me now how should I feel"...kinda sounds the same
could there be a 360p or better or are you yellow
Post Punk ? I'd say Joy Division 'Warsaw' would fit into that category - not the later New Order stuff, maybe 'turn the heater on' or similar...
Punk was nothing more than 3 chords and a one dimensional anger after the initial explosion. nothing more than boring drivel. Post punk was far more interesting and creative and led the way for the alternative music of the rest of the 80s and into the 90s.
HAHHAHAHA POST PUNK . Like it had amounted to anything.
Post PUNK ???
Post PUNK ??? Dood PLZ.
"Power, Corruption and Lies" ... maybe one of their best albums.
UK Dance Music in the early 80's. New Order, Japan, Soft Cell, Depeche Mode forever!!!
X _ X oligarchy in audio
Always they have been the best!!
great video and great song what's there not to like, new order smashing it again
LOL your whole frame of reference is YouTube. What a sad little man you are.
yeah don't generalize most Americans don't give a shit its just the ones that do don't shut the fuck up.
Huh. I'm an American. I just love the song. No weird commentary here. One of the oldest, long-term fans of this band for FOREVER.
Only an American (see the pricks below) would talk such shite that "this is 4.20 so it must be about drugs" bloody hell the official time is actually 4.25. What is with Americans on youtube who how ever old they are seem perpetually to stay retarded 16 years old thinking "how big and clever I am - I can talk about drugs. Grow up you morons.
Dave Smith pricks are everywhere man, US, UK, USSR... doesn't matter
Lol okay, if you say so, but how about the fact that it's called "Everything's Gone Green"? I mean... no, you're right, it certainly doesn't have a strong theme of police oppression and footage of huge smoke clouds like you'd expect to see if it were about drugs.
Not American necessarily, just a stoner. You work green or 4:20 into anything and they'll run with it. Or just sit there and giggle.
Highschool Memories!!!!!
A.C.A.B. :)
It was built by some gay cop that was working in San Fransico in the 70"s. After it was advertised there was an increase in police calls as if they were begging for it. They decided it was not a deterant and discontinued it's production.
dumbass. lol
Just like "I Feel Love" by Donna Summer & Giorgio Moroder, this song was ahead of its time.
panther0567 New Order was inspired a lot by their other song 'Our Love' from the 'Bad Girls' album. That sound also sounds very acid house in the outro too.
@ikey76 420, 4:20, or 4/20 (pronounced four-twenty) refers to consumption of cannabis and, by extension, a way to identify oneself with cannabis subculture. Observances based on the number include the time (4:20 p.m.) as well as the date (April 20), from Wikipedia. 9gagger, go back into your cave please... Also I'm not american.
@efusiongaming thats the most retarded interpretation ive heard you must be american.
@janycko1 Lmao!!!
@LapoSettepanze 4:20 is one of the symbols of cannabis. So is the color green. Everything's gone green, could be an allusion to drugs :)
@Lieu3C4 tl;dr
