New Order - Angel Dust Lyrics
What shall I say
I fear you will betray me
How many ways
Can you prolong this tragedy
Who told you that I would be back
I will send you falling slowly
To the earth I see below me
You never knew
With open arms I came to you
Judging me so safe to be with
Mistakes you made that you can't live with
What you get is what you need
When you watch the blood but you don't bleed
You make me feel like a masked delusion

New Order Angel Dust Comments
Irreplaceable
Agreed...the very very best of N.O....i use to listen & listen to this magik.Orchestration of it does the trick.
that break down at the minute mark is one of the most amazing i've ever heard, i've been sleeping on this song
12 guy are drunk.
i love this song
Bad ass !!!
Los prisioneros??
They had a song called "Ecstasy" and one called "Angel Dust". Were these cats into substances? No judgment if so...some of the greatest musicians of all time were. Club/dance music is known to be heavily tied to the MDMA scene. Very cool sounds all the same.
They have an album called Substance too.
Also, Blue Monday is a big clue.
They were never as crazy as The Happy Mondays or EMF.
Greatest B-Side of all time..This is so fresh yet 30 years old
I would say Bernhard Sumner is maybe the most underrated guitarist. It's a monster song.
Like this, then check out The Cure All Mixed Up. Amazing mixes of the Cure's best songs. Thanks...never heard this before.Great song.
one of the best songs amongst a multitude of great real musical talented genius of the last century long live new order thank you new order
going on 9 years and still no dislikes, such a good thing.
What shall I say
I fear you will betray me
How many ways
Can you prolong this tragedy
Who told you that I would be back
You came here to seize my freedom
I will send you falling slowly
To the earth I see below me
You never knew
With open arms I came to you
Judging me so safe to be with
Mistakes you made that you can't live with
What you get is what you need
When you watch the blood but you don't bleed
You make me feel like a masked delusion
A man whose life's became illusion
Time to start playing this album in its entirety again. Last rock album before they went fully disco
I love the way the lyrics were done on this ....cool icy precision.
Maybe someone should give this to Bernard to show him that he once could sing, (when he wasn't doing his yelping) and that at one time New Order was able to write some some pretty cool lyrics
best band
best cover
best intro
best track
best intro hands down
i always thought it was the sequel ish or prequel i suppose to touched. i had hopes to cover it as the lyrics mean something to me
It's a shame they don't perform some of those tracks as much anymore. Hooky and the Light's version is ok, but still.
On their best songs
The drumming from 2:11 onwards is orgasmic
+hahartley100 BOOM! padakdak-dadak BOOM BOOM!~
Go Gillian, i fkn love you :P
I wanna know what this song is about?
+Ava Rose about everything happening around you
It is about the tragedy in Palestine
relationships. failure. not letting go
Relationships are like Drugs (ANGEL DUST), And the two are the same. codependency
Love is the drug you'll die for.
1:56 - 2:12 is so perfect.
not only survive death of lead singer but flourish and exceed expectations as phenomenal band both musically and lyrically
It's IMHO some of their best songs on Brotherhood. I love the rawness of it. But who knows what future possible edits of f ex this song lies in wait?
i love this tune, especially the wailing
and th guitar at the end , tears to your eyes
the best track on the album , could not stop playing it when it was released
*o* amo New Order, essa música é show demais *u*
Pena que nasci na época errada T.T
Martin Hannett was Joy Division.
RIP Martin.
Ian Curtis was joy division :)
RIP Ian.
can't you see he's being sarcastic?
@TobyMacROCKS11 My mom worked in a record store for several years during that era and knows this for a fact. In fact, this is her typing right now.
@ElectronicMusicUK New Order used to BE Joy Division until the leader singer killed himself and the band reorganized under the new name! Nothing fake about them, honey!
well this song sums new order up,fucking ace
Superb track and album for that matter. Unfortunately the genius that was new order slipped into irrelevant pop music ever since Tecchnique. Just my opinion!
great album, fab songs....loads of memories and toekneecrass...totally agree
This song's a BEAST!!!
This is so E friendly
I have not heard this in 19 years or more it brings tears to my eyes, we were so alive and into life in the 80's punk rock had some anger but not the depressing violence so pervasive today
