LOVE this song and this version!!! I wish I knew what it was about. I know it has something to do with a light house, but that about it.

I do have one fantastic interpretation for this! But that one is expressed better in the original - this was in fact her father's favoutite song of hers, and the one lighthouse he must have seen, was when he was 19 years old, wounded in a hospital at Lake Bodensee, and was assembled by the French as a POW for 2 years. The place they were gathered in that area was Lindau, which has an iconic lighthouse, at it's harbor entrance. "I go with you where ever you want me to", POW with the French was not a picknick, "All the way to the end of the world", etc, pp... That said, I might happen to overestimate her songs sometimes. ;) It's not a just a girly lovesong though. And btw., this clip is forbidden in my country! Oh. :P P.S. And of course, these days everybody knows, 5 years after she wrote that song, Nena went sorta beyond the end of the world, at least once, giving birth to her first child, more than nuff said.

Nena is incredible. I have been in love with this woman since I was 13 years old and I was in 8th grade, that was in 1984. She still one of the most beautiful woman in the world and her voice will be forever.... Thanks Nena for share your art with us when in 1989 the Berlin wall fell I watch everything on tv and I understood it better because ur music. 99 luftballons like winds of change of Scorpions predicted a better future. Thanks for that even though I was not affected directly I was so happy to see families getting together and the world united for a beautiful cause. Nena like it or not you are part of the history and the music... Awesome. My respects.

I know this song since 1984 (of course original version, I was 12 years old) for me was kind of I do not know, magical maybe the sount of the keyboards. This video is so sensual. Nena rocketed to stardom worldwide in 80's by releasing 99 Luftballons in English version along with the German version and Video on MTV. She should do that with this! Super Hip video, super words, and cannot get melody out of your head! Would be her second hit on American charts! Oh well, I'm sure she is comfortable with her degree of success as it stands, and I guess doesnt need to. I sure wish she would do a tour in the U.S. Thumbs up if you are one of the hoards of American Nena fans!
