Nelson, Willie - Faded Love Lyrics
When I look at the letter that you wrote to me
It's you that I'm thinking of
As I read the lines that to me were so sweet
I remember our faded love
I miss you darlin' more and more every day
As heaven would miss the stars above
With every heartbeat I still think of you
And remember our faded love
As I think of the past and all the pleasure we had,
As I watch the mating of a dove,
And it was in the springtime that we said goodbye.
I remember our faded love.

Nelson, Willie Faded Love Comments
This was my favorite song to wake up to, back in the 80’s, in high school.
This album with Ray and Willie stands as one of my favorites... every now and then, I go back and listen and remember all the good times in life... Willie is my favorite performer and artist. Ray Price adds his beautiful voice here - those steel guitars, too. great album, great song.
Thank you!
You use to press a flower or a leaf in your favorite book-or a lock of their hair.
Wow! Goosebumps when Ray and Willie harmonize on the refrain. What a lovely song from a bygone era. My heart aches that our young people today aren't hearing this beautiful music. Perhaps some are. Maybe some could post that you are listening.
Love Ray Price. And then there's Willie Nelson. Can't beat that.
I've been enjoying this song for a decade. Thank you, Mk F! One of my all-time favorites!
Not big on Willie but am on Ray must admit this is a very fine duet Thanks for sharing, thumbs up from Joao
Beautiful fiddlin’..
Hard to beat!
Heaven.

Amazing, but can you also do an intrumental version please ?
Love to sing this song with my band
Another sad, great song, by two outstanding artists...Have Patsy Cline singing this on LP. Once upon a time....
No wonder it has 762,740 views...it is a GREAT song!
a well-crafted song.. gives me chills.. Well done Ray, Willie, and Crystal.
Loved it when Bob Wills did it years ago. This duo just reminds me of how much I do love it.
Real country music real talent.
Absolutely Classic
Damn the 80's were a great time!!
Beautiful song and wonderful harmony.

The Great Cherokee Cowboy & The Great Willie Nelson.
the words say it all just love those two
It don’t get any better than this
It doesn’t get any better than this.....Ray and willie. It will last forever!
Ben Cody Pearson LA sprhhgihll. Home from small
The album notes say that someone with an obviously made-up name is playing piano. I thought it was one of those contractual things (it was), and that the real piano player was Willie's sister, Bobbi. It sounded just like her. I just recently found out that the person who played piano on this album was LEON RUSSELL.
Moises Calderon piano and Johnny Gimble fiddle
Mannn........Crystal Gayle just knocks that alto line right out of the park - perfection.
Ray & Willie... what else is there to say?
love the fiddles
could listen all day
From an era when music was worth listening to eh
Music was better back then.
This has to be the greatest duo lve heard from both of you.love you guys so much.
Remembering my sweet grandma Jude! Love you so much!
one of the best singers of all times
Bob Wills Jr. was a huge man-6'8" and well over 350 and the song is much bigger than him. Was he? The song is, that is all that matters.
Ray price is the man!! Willie kinda sucks because he's such a douche but you can't help but love some of his music.
often imitated...never duplicated
my dads favorite country music song faded love love love you Dad Hollis yates in heaven and buried in Lubbock TX and From big spring Texas rest in peace Dad Hollis yates singing to my mother Phyllis yates in heaven and buried right beside my dad Phyllis yates miss you mom and Dad love you and i will see you one day God bless you and thank s Channel and owners of this channel listen er fan Glenn yates in pretty water sapulpa creek Oklahoma USA God bless you and rest in peace in Lubbock TX my dad and mom Hollis yates and Phyllis yates
As a kid, my dad and mom played the hell out of Ray Price, and I never really appreciated his music that much. I've only recently (now 30+ years later) have gained an appreciation for Ray's music. He has such a wonderful voice, I can see why my parents (and grand parents) loved his music so much. I just had to mature into it audibly. I've been a lifelong Willie Nelson fan, I've seen him half a dozen times live, and he somehow gets better each time. I deeply regret never getting to see Ray Price, or appreciating his voice a lot sooner in life he too was just as much of a treasure as Willie Nelson.
I believe it's never too late. When I was a kid, anything resembling Country or worse, Jazz, came on the telly my folks would practically dive across the room to change the channel. Somehow I grew up to love blues, country, and jazz - all of which were shunned during my most formative years.
Those of us who know who the fiddle player is just by listening to this are very fortunate. RIP JG
Tell us more, please.
He produced the album, as well.
The best Country.
I was living in West L.A. in 1970,and what a sweet time of my life when l was first exposed to the song, make me cry tears of joy and tears of sadness when l heat it. Just tears my heart to pieces when I hear it.Just about love.
THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER LIKE MR. RAY PRICE NEVER.....PERIOD..

Nothing Better, Crystals voice just adds so much beauty to the harmonies.

Willie & Ray .. the most beautiful version .. musical arrangement, harmonizing, etc., thanks much for posting ....
best version of this wonderful song
You correct Big Ray Price Fan !!
agree, Time Jumpers version is awful
The first time I heard this it was an instrumental on a Juke Box in Sweetwater Texas. Am I right? Did the words come later by Bob Wills, or at the same time?
Two of my favs in country music. Peace
Sad song. Brings back good and sad memories but I enjoy listening still.
That is such a great classic! I haven't heard this in years. Crystal has such a pretty voice! I'm working with an awesome new singer/songwriter and she has written her own beautiful song about faded love. Her name is Lauren and her song is called The Spark Is Gone. It's on YT and it is destined to be a hit. We would love for you to check it out. Thank you!
Love this song
Wonderful
ACC's #49 song of the '80 survey year. God bless you, friend, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a blessed week! RIP, Ray Price.
used to hear this melody in my peaceful sleep
An old one nice
15 people are going to hell. Long live Willie!!
+TheShupeDogg 23 now are on that road.
Possibly one of the most beautiful songs on earth.
And the most beautiful rendition of it.
I remember when I bought this album. It was 1980 and I was stationed in Germany. I heard " San Antonio Rose " on Bob Kingsley's countdown and ran to the PX to buy it. Still have it. Still love it. Country at its finest.
Ray Price appeared in Yukon Oklahoma about 6 years ago. His voice was a s clear as a bell. I sat on the edge of my seat and cried with joy. I have been a Ray price fan all my life. When I heared he had passed away I was greatly saddened and felt a part of my life had ended.
Willy and Ray. It doesn't get any better than that. I've been there, felt the feelings invoked by this song. I think it takes someone who's been there to write a song like this. The good thing is, there's someone around the corner to take away the pain, just give it time. God sees to that.
As the old adage goes, and I'm paraphrasing, it's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all, but when I hear this song, I oft times think it's better to never have loved than to go through such heart wrenching misery and desolation of the soul. I think most of us have been there and done that.
So true and the hurt never goes away!
+Old Guy
thanks
Sometimes, we love so deeply and then we lose that love. Whether they leave us or we walk away, the pain cuts so deeply that we find ourselves on the edge of madness.
I know what you mean David. The mystery of love is that when you are spurned and or rejected, you continue to immerse yourself in the feelings to remind yourself that you continue to feel something rather than the void of never having loved to begin with.
And, you are left with fond memories to fall back on.
Two of the greatest C&W Artists that have ever lived.
I think the song would have sounded better with just Willie.
Different, for sure. Willie has that soul and that subtlety. After all that marijuana!
I love that voice and any song he sings is like a come here woman. I especially like the song "Angles flying to close to the ground". Beautiful song.
In Snyder, Oklahoma but lived in Ca. I love his voice, don't hate me for it, ha.
Two of the all-time greatest
THER SHOULD BE A PACER IN THE PICTURE TO GIVE THEM CARS A TAST OF CLASS
From the greatest country album of all time. That's Crystal Gayle singing back-up. I've listened to this album at least 500 times.
This is one of the best records ever made, period. It is on my desert island list.
like hear you, but bad luck that led me to you.
Byron I'm with you. The terns "Hi-Fi" , L.P.'s, vinyl, 33 & 1/3 and ...what else? Perhaps; 45rpm! Well, that was when the "King; Elvis" was just getting started.
And the "British Invasion" was about to happen! You are so lucky to have a mom who shared her love of dance with you kids! I'm never going to make it to Heaven, but if I do; I'll not only say hi to your ma, I'll dance with her too! With or without, a dance card!
The vocals, the music, my mothers Hi-Fi, playing Ray Price or Marty Robbins. "Come here", she would say, "time for a dance lesson"... and away we would go. The ol', asbestos tiled, floor in the kitchen would take on a special shine on days like that. One after another she would take us (7) kids for a whirl around the dance floor. Soon we would be dancing with each other and if we had friends over... they had to dance too. It was so much fun, back in Montana, when country rocked and Paul Harvey had the rest of the Story. I'll sure miss them good ol' boys. I thank the "Good Lord", we still have their music. So long fellas. Say hi to my Ma, and see if you get on her dance card.
Thank you Byron. That brought back good memories too.
Sweet post Byron. I realize its an oldie, but, in case you didn't know Paul Harvey got his start in Montana at KGVO in Missoula.
The blessing of memories is that they are yours to treasure forever. All you need to do is close your eyes and return to those wonderful times with those special people.
God rest a good man, I know his name's wrote on the pages of the book of life
FANTASTIC
Saddened by the passing of Ray Price may his music live on and long.
This has to be one of the very best Country Male Vocal Duets I have in my memory. Of course you are probably aware we lost Ray Price a few days ago. So happy we still have the ability to listen to his singing on and on! :~) I love these old Country Standards.
This album brought me back to listening to Ray,30 + years ago!.Sure, radio played "For The Good Times" but never played the old songs he had sang years before.Seen him on the last performance on the "Last of the Breed" tour. Most at the show gave him a standing ovation after every song that night.I'll never forget it,or you Ray.......R.I.P. Chief!!
Godspeed Mr Price, we still have your wonderful voice
He is a classy gent, a Born Again Christian and one of the greatest singers we've had, Country or other. I look forward to meeting him Some Day.
Looking' forward to that day !!!!
WHY DO WE ALWAYS HAVE TO PUT UP WITH ALL THIS BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN BULLSHIT???
@pawehrle Buzz off, buddy. If you don't like it, you can always take your ass somewhere else.
@pawehrle Why do retards always have to type in all caps?
One of the last true country gentlemen...rest in peace old friend
Thank you Mr. Price
RIP
RIP Mr. Price. Can't add more than that..other than thank you.
No mistaking Johnny Gimble! Can't nobody...NOBODY... play the fiddle solo of Faded Love like Gimble. A first chair symphony orchestra violinist may practice and practice, BUT they would never ever match Johnny Gimble playing Faded Love!
Yes, that was Gimble playing fiddle.
whos goning take there place,, no one
Dam Cancer.
This version is truly a jewel. Loved it for years. What a voice Mr. Ray has!
