Nelson, Ricky - She Belongs To Me Lyrics
She's got everything she needs
She's an artist she don't look back
She's got everything she needs
She's an artist she don't look back
She can take the dark out of the nighttime
You may start out standing
Probably steal her anything she sees
You can start out standing
Probably steal her anything she sees
But you'll wind up peaking through a keyhole
On your knees
She never stumbles
Got no place to fall
Got no place to fall
She's nobody's child
The law can't touch her at all
Bow down to her on Sunday
Salute her when her birthday comes
Bow down to her on Sunday
Salute her when her birthday comes
For Halloween buy her a trumpet
For Christmas give her a drum

Very nice arrangement! Such a good recording.
This must of been released Christmas of 1969, always get a warm feeling when hearing Rick's version!
to me this tops dylan's original.
Awesome cover.
I had a crush on Ricky when I was 11, cried for his passing but I'm still a fan. Thank you, fcatman916, for sharing his music. God bless...
Great version. Only knew the Bob Dylan version but I think I now prefer this version. Always have been a Rick Nelson fan. I just love his sound. Wish he were still alive and making music today.
Rick deserves more recognition for his wonderful rockabilly recordings made with James Burton.
Most singers voices go downhill after they peak in their youthful career. Rick Nelson is the biggest exception to this rule. His only ripened with age.
..I think Bobby Dylan even liked this version..
Caught a piece of this on Sirius today. Only the second time I ever heard it played on the radio. The other was in early 1970 in Vietnam. I just had to get the whole thing when I got home. Thanks for posting it.
+Keith McGraw You're welcome, Keith.
Very talented, very handsome and he could SING.Growing up in a glass bubble couldn't have been easy. I remember reading where his dad said to him as a teen, remember what you do effects the livelihood of the people on this show. In other words.... don't do anything foolish. Teenagers are always doing foolish things it's part of growing up but usually we don't have to worry about people being out of a job bc of it. That had to be a lot of pressure for Rick and David. No wonder he rebelled....eventually.
Perfect Rick! I love your version of this song. I can't believe you have been gone 30 years.
Always loved this, thanks!
Rick Nelson was that rare breed of teen idol--not only could he sing and play an instrument, he also wrote some of his own songs and was able to perform in other genres besides Teen Pop.
Great version. Only knew the Bob Dylan version but I think I now prefer this version. Always have been a Rick Nelson fan. I just love his sound. Wish he were still alive and making music today.
@dmittelberg Rick was a great performer, one of the best rockabilly artists of the late 1950s. His recordings with James Burton sound as good today as they did then. He later fell on some hard times, but continued to reinvent himself. His life was cut much too short.
Always one of my favorite songs.
Thanks for sharing, that is one you don't hear very often. Good tune
Long time favorite, I always enjoyed Rick's style and glad I was a radio DJ early enough that I played his hits when they were on the charts. I'll always believe that he'd been back on top of the entertainment world at least once if he hadn't left us so soon.
Sorry but its Buddy Emmons on Steel for this Single! Tom Brumley joined later though he did the Steel on Flip Side Promises!
Let me know the lyrics second refrain 'found her on sunday ????''found her on sunday ????'
Bow down to her on Sunday
Salute her when her birthday comes
Bow down to her on Sunday
Salute her when her birthday comes
For Halloween buy her a trumpet
And for Christmas, give her a drum.
thanks for sharing
I figured that you would like this, B.
