Neil Young - Albuquerque Lyrics
Well, they say
that Santa Fe
Is less than ninety miles away,
And I got time to roll a number
and rent a car.
I've been flyin'
down the road,
And I've been starvin' to be alone,
And independent from the scene
that I've known.
Albuquerque.
So I'll stop when I can,
Find some fried eggs
I'll find somewhere where
they don't care who I am.
Oh, Albuquerque,
Albuquerque.

?????????
This song and album is just transcendent on so many levels, but I think what I love most about this track is the way they sing "AA-AA-AA-AA-AL.....buquerque."
For some reason I feel like listening to Mirror Ball now. I'm the Ocean
Chosing between Neils albums is like chosing your favorite child.
You mean that it's immoral but that you do it anyway ? x)
I met neil young back in 1993 hanging out behind the paramount N.W. seattle he's a living legend
Lucky dude but met Jerry Garcia but was almost to sick to talk I felt bad he died a couple years later sob
But I saw Neil here in Cincinnati at riverbend in 1989 look it up I got his fee shirt tour of that year not lying but would have loved to met him but no

The piano.
first 30 seconds Sounds almost identical to Cortez the killer
Thank goddess
It is very similar
Easily the best song ever written about getting high and then driving to Santa Fe, stopping at some roadside dinner for some fried eggs and country ham once the munchies inevitably set in.
It's certainly up there with old time Country 'n' Western singin' yodeller Dusty Parsnips 's barn stomping "Hot Dogs And Jumpin' Frogs ( Fresh Outta Luck On The Outskirts Of Albuquerque)"
The best artist is one who doesn't care what you think.
Bevan Roderick McGregor try Ween. Based on this comment you will approve!
Two words: Neil Young
So fans are not important .
This song got me through some tough times nearly 15 years ago and it still inspires me today.
Went through Albuquerque..this song popped into my head..and what else? I had a hankering for fried eggs and country ham..stopped and ate
One of his greatest pieces ever. The harmonica part still sends shivers down my spine, just when I first listened to it at the age of 16, lovesick and heartbroken...
...stop it Ben !....
one of my all time favorites by Neil!!
al../........./
The depth of this album says it all! Thanks Neil...!
...and yet every time I listen to this time races a million miles an hour but also completely freezes. Thanks Neil. Miss you beeps✌
well said!!!!
Breaking Bad song
I think this is a great example of "musical alchemy"..the words, melody, vocal, and instrumentation seem to add up to something much greater than the sum of the parts..Brilliantly and Brutally weary and forlorn...This song has been haunting me for years..
30 years ago as a 20 something stoned spent a night listening to After The Gold rush and Tonight's The Night and the two albums haunt me to this day but in a really good way 😎
Go find some fried eggs & country ham
this album was panned ny the critics but I love it.
no, it came out after On The Beach actually. But thats splitting hairs. Thanks for the info Andrew. Perhaps I misunderstood what id read about the album. And any true Neil Young fan would love this. On The Beach, my favourite, is tagged as "" Despondent "' by a rolling stone critic. I never really took much notice of what they said anyway,.
I'm sorry, I sound like an asshole. Please forgive me. I love Neil Young and it doesn't matter what any critic thinks of the album. Thank you for being gracious about it.
Andrew Pearson
Critics like it, but only after the fact. Like "Exile on Main St." Both got crap reviews out of the gate.
Who cares what critics say. Just like politicians, what comes out of their mouths could be used to fertilize your garden. I really don't know why they exist at all, unless it's to influence listeners who don't know what they like??
@bcubed72 Exile is their most consistant album imho
...4 peoples never had country ham
I love country ham
I think of my nannas extra thick frying ham (from Scotch Corner butchers, Whitley Bay) every time I hear it
One of his best. Raw, real.
Very salty..
thanks Neil for the great songs, and thanks Ben for the great steel.,...
Indeed Ben Keith's steel playing is so nuanced. Not an extra phrase or note. Just floating in and out of the mix like an old ghost.
