Neil Sedaka - The Other Side Of Me Lyrics
You think you know me pretty well,
But how can you tell,
You never get inside my head.
The times we talk, we never speak,
We play hide and seek
Why can't you see
What's on the other side of me,
The side of me that reaches out to you.
Sweet thoughts and dreams,
Like drops of rain on rippling streams
That wind and bend,
Rivers with no end,
Flowing on the other side of me.
I trip on my tongue
With words that come out somethin' else.
I'm so afraid the things I say
Might chase you away,
I have to hide behind myself.
Why can't you see
What's on the other side of me,
The side of me that reaches out to you.
Why must I hide
These feelings that have been denied.
Only you can set me free
See what's on the other side of me.
La la la la la la la la
La la la la la
La la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la
La la la la la
I have to hide behind myself.
Why can't you see
What's on the other side of me,
The side of me that reaches out to you.
Why must I hide
These feelings that have been denied.
Only you can set me free
See what's on the other side of me,
On the other side of me,
On the other side of me.

Neil Sedaka The Other Side Of Me Comments
One of his very best beautiful songs just pure talent.
I know that Neil Sedaka wrote this great song, but the finest version I have ever heard sung was by Nina Van Pallandt. I think once you hear it you'll agree.
very poignant song to a person with feelings thank you neil
Don't forget Neil Sedaka was USA choice for Tchaikovsky piano competition in 1966
Quanta beleza e romantismo 😘😘😘😘🎆
Where is the "throwaway" track, on "Sedaka's Back"? I've been looking for it...for 42 years; no luck, yet.
Genius !!
One of the most beautiful and meaningful song ever
Hat tip to The League of Gentlemen Live Again
Como adoro ouvir Neil Sedaka que saudade amo você
I checked, hoping it was up; haven't heard it, in years. 'Just, had to say good-bye, to the best friend, ever I've had. I made the horrible mistake, of falling in
love, with her. Then, though, I was able, to type, "Our Last Song Together", through tears...thank heavens, it's up, also. I hurt, so badly.
One of the best song ever
I met Neil Sedaka in 1962 at the Copa in New York City, a very young 15 yr old Bronx girl, he was great, we danced on stage with him, he signed autographs for us, a day I will never forget....I have followed him on his musical journey ever since, he is one of the best.....this is a wonderful song....but my most very favorite has to be YOU for his daughter, I love that song so much and may Neil continue to full our hearts with music all the days of our lives.
When I hear this song, I remember the good times and bring them forward to now!!! Thanks for posting this!!!
One of my favourite songs. I went to Neil's Manchester show which happened to be on the same day that Michael Jackson died. He kicked off the concert with this song and I've never heard a version nicer. Mae McKenna's 1974 cover is also worth checking out - lovely orchestration backing her beautiful voice.
Nobody writes this kind of song anymore, so honest, so bare-it-all!
Been there.
I grew up listening to Neil with my grandparents and have even seen him live, i love all his songs but this one is probably my all time favourite, such a talentened man xxx
I love this song, so honest, never heard it on the radio.
A definition of pure, honest, beauty.
<3 this song
Neil Sedaka -The other side of me, in my opinion his best era the early 70s
This is a 1973 recording and the instrumentals are so much a part of this great song. I also am sure that it can be helpful to many. There is a real message here.

Cheesy - Never - soul searching and a song for every occasion - that is Neil Sedaka
I had this on an 8 track tape. Who knows what happened to that thing. Loved it but could never find it again until now. Yeah! Thanks for uploading it.
I meant that some people Iknow would think it cheesy when I posted it on Facebook but I think it's beautiful. Total respect for your situation and glad it helped. Music can do great things.xxx
No, not cheesy, Peter. This song was an important part of me as a child finding my voice in an abusive family that did not understand that I loved them in spite of what they were doing.
Ok so it's cheesey but it's a great song.
I have always loved this song-thank you for posting it.I wipe away a tear when I remember the little girl I was, listening to this album....
Beautiful song!!
Every relationship should hear this song....
Truly a beautiful song with a great obvious message!
I LOVE this!
