Neil Diamond Prologue Comments
  1. W.... M....

    Spine tingling

  2. D.... H....

Yeah baby, one of the best introductions to a song ever. Starts quietly, and builds to a thundering performance that has no equal. This is a track that screams, *Play it loud brother* ...

  3. R.... H....

If you're driving into the mountains begin with the prologue at the base of the journey and listen to the intensity build up to the incredible beginning of CGS. I've done this on the Grapevine in CA and from Oregon to the pass into CA. Goosebumps.

  4. J.... C....

A family favorite, Neil Diamond is the best.

  5. G.... G....

Is not only love on the rocks, great intro, big voice, this is music. Es todo!

  6. s.... h....

    Best intro ever!

  7. r.... ....

So before its time . Bloody beautiful .

  8. S.... W....

Back in 1974, when Australia first introduced no-contest divorce, the most disputed item in divorces was, after the family home, who got the copy of "Hot August Night". Custody of the children was #3

  9. j.... m....

the intro to this is brilliant and will never be surpassed but have a listen to the extended version of heaven for everyone by Queen

  10. Z.... C....

    Have this on LP

  11. J.... A....

This 'intro' made me survive, THANKS!

  12. S.... ....

    Magnífica introduccion.

  13. m.... t....

    Grande Master Neil Diamond

  14. L.... P....

So What Exactly was the Crunchy Granola Sweet..??? I have a few ideas...😉

  15. N.... R....

Timeless wizard of a concert .... my Dad got it in the 70’s and us kids went mad to it.

  16. M.... S....

the intro is crap, but the song kicks ass. But can someone please, please, please explain to me what this song is about. I have a friend who would gladly have sex with diamonds corpse my opinion is that he wrote very good songs but the lyrics were essentially just a bunch of random words.

  17. T.... ....

    Dig it!

  18. M.... V....

I grew up on this. That drummer...wicked!

  19. A.... Y....

Sounds like Barry Manilow on steroids.

  20. c.... j....

Sure he is Pop. And yes He is Rock. But without any doubt His music can, and does. Speak to everyone. Neil is a songwriter. 100%

  21. C.... M....

Two. Joyce Shepherd on August night with Neil Diamond. It was a Saturday afternoon who is in Christchurch this movie was just for me and you. You are still the one and only one

  22. S.... S....

Now that Neil has retired , their will be clones' of him , like Elvis has , not near as many I'm sure . Their won't be contests and conventions for Neil Diamond tribute artists', but he is remarkable most certainly

  23. T.... B....

Does anyone know if this concert was filmed? Would love to see this live as it happens 🌞

    T.... B....

No, it wasn't taped for viewing. Neil said he regretted not videotaping it.

  24. p.... b....

A friend of mine was there, and said this was just awesome and really got the crowd moving

  25. R.... B....

this would be a great workout song!!

  26. C.... J....

Since i was a kid...listened thousand times with my Dad. The greatest Concert's intro ever.

  27. O.... P....

    Rock on, Neil!!

  28. N.... S....

This brings back such wonderful memories for me!😍

  29. T.... L....

4:57 was he grunting there? awesome

  30. f.... 1....

  31. A.... A....

Inolvidable ésta foto, Todo lo antiguo fue y será lo mejor, por lo menos la música, ahora es pura mierda, sin contenido, vulgar, ordinaria hasta decir basta.
    Ésta es música real.!!!!!!!

  32. a.... o....

yes, until today the best intro

  33. T.... B....

This is a must for any music collection, way to go Neil showed em all how to do it 🤔

  34. M.... T....

Just when u have thought his best is out there he does so much more. His video's are well thought out . Each one draws you in and keeps you wanting more. Each video is so unique
Once again he paints a very clear picture of each song
He is a very amazing in every way.

  35. g.... b....

my dad use to play nd's music all the time as i was growing up and i loved it plus meatloaf and the royal mariens brass band music plus a load more that is why i have a listen nearly all tyes of music god love my dad

  36. H.... B....

    #NeilDiamondRocks

  37. d.... ....

What's he doing in the photo??

  38. N.... ....

    32 people suck goat cock......

  39. D.... C....

FANTASTIC INTRO!!!!  Gorgeous & soul-stirring...  Especially Dennis St. John's drum fill to kick in the band...  I can't say, however, that I really EVER understood the cover photograph though...

    D.... C....

I never cared for it, either.

  40. R.... W....

    Just brilliant...

  41. p.... G....

It was 40 years back that I heard this wonderful song. I found it now purely by chance.... Thanks you tube.  Without any doubt :   this still gives me goosebumps. Fantastic.....For the Belgian and Dutch people, this was the Radio Veronica tune (1974)  in the version of Percy Faith. Those were the days......

  42. b.... ....

Great underrated voice and talent. Got lost in the cheese late in life, but the guy can sing. And he writes all this stuff.

  43. f.... b....

    Tremendamente increíble!!!

  44. T.... B....

I was at one of the 10 concerts that Neil Diamond did at the Greek Theatre in 1972! It was my first ND concert and I remember sitting there during the Prologue trying to process what was happening! At one point I looked at my wife and jokingly asked" are you sure we're in the right place"? As the music built to a climax and the acoustic guitar kicked in I looked at my wife again and said, " here we go "! The stage doors opened, red smoke spilled out, and a full orchestra and band became visible! Neil Diamond then cooley strolled out, picked up his guitar and proceeded to sing 'Crunchy Granola Suite'! The Prologue is the greatest introduction to the greatest concert of all time, and one that I will never forget...

    T.... B....

Yes it is, I get them every time that I listen to Hot August Night... It takes me back to the night of that great concert!

    T.... B....

    That's awesome!

    T.... B....

Tom B. This is exactly what I thought happened. You were very fortunate. I am so pleased for your sake. Have a great one, please. Sincerely from Johan van Rooyen from the Kruger National Park. Mpumalanga South Africa.

    T.... B....

You're right Johan, I was very fortunate... Hot August Night was a very special concert, and remains my all time favorite! It's good to see that there are Neil Diamond fans, like you, all over the world... He is a world Icon...

    T.... B....

@Tom B. I became aware of him in 1978, Beutifull noise. I was hooked instantaneously, why,???? I really do not know; perhaps an intuitive motion from my side, However, when I learned about STONES and SEPTEMBER MORN, and all his recordings the 60`s, I was in 'our'. There were a purpose and a positive resemblance of an infinity. Thanks, Tom IF YOU Wich: THIS IS MY EMAIL ADDRESS: [email protected]

  52. j.... j....

The photographer did a great job capturing this image, this man is a great dancer

  53. R.... B....

Through the ages many have had the privilege to live on planet Earth and sense all it's splendour's, but only a few were privileged enough to witness and experience Neil Diamond on that hot August night. Am I jealous - damn right I am.

  54. M.... Q....

Wow I picked my daddio’s favourite track , as a shout out for Father’s Day , his first in the big man shed up above , and your channel is Suzecando , I am also a Suze ! Well this had made my day , what are the bloody odds .

  55. R.... M....

It's not about global warming folks. it's about the damns we build. Just like a wheel getting balanced. Pray!

  56. d.... c....

music is awesome therapy for ptsd!

  57. j.... ....

My father kept me immersed in Neil Diamond's music during my formative years (and beyond). After dad committed suicide, Neil is who I have to bring memories of Dad. Dad when he was at his best... Listening to Neil, soaking in the magic. No yelling, no hitting, no throwing, just joy. Neil Diamond, in some way, may have saved my life. Somehow, I feel like he was a member of our family. Much of our family life revolved around Neil Diamond's music. We had an exceptionally large stereo system for that day in age, and we would listen to Neil at 120 db +. So would the neighbors... by default. : )

    j.... ....

That is incredibly sad but I hope that listening to his favourite music keeps his memory with you. So sad.

    j.... ....

I also lived in an abusive home with a brutal father. He almost killed my brother when we were about 8 years old. Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show was playing when the police came and took him away. I have always listened to this music ever since!!!!

    j.... ....

my dads been deadmore than 25 years but i remember my dad listening to this song many times ,every time i hear this song i end up smiling but crying i remember how much i loved him and how much i miss him . dad had this technics valve amp which i saw an online review of stating it was one on the last valve amps technics made and was a highly sought after item . i gave that amp away and regret it but songs like this one along with the whole album are something that i treasure now ,johnny cash, charlie pride were some others i fondly remember too.
gone but not forgotten nor loved any less

    j.... ....

The same experience jafquist27, my formative years 1979-1983. Still today, he is "saving-my-life", countlessly. A brilliant sapient at the right time for me. till now. Thanks, jafquist27. Johan

    j.... ....

jafquist27, almost the same happened to me, however, I was luckier. Notwithstanding that, Neil saved my own life, plenty of times. Thanks for sharing. JOhan

Neil has been, will, & always will be my # 1. I have every album of his. Ops, just remembered I gave all the albums to my wonderful granddaughter Julia, but not before I had recorded them onto C/D's. Ha ,Ha!

  64. e.... ....

Neil Diamond was Dad's favourite. But despite that, for the last 10 years Dad was unfortunately the man outta touch. He did stay in the house and not say much but that was down to ill health. His tiger at the gate was that he had type 1 diabetes for about 35 years of his life. I've always like Neil's songs as well, very powerful, great melodies and such deep lyrics. It's just some of them have always made me sad, right from the beginning, even the happy ones.

  65. s.... ....

  66. R.... P....

Ever have a song stuck in your head? This one, all day. I figured my brain was telling me I needed to hear some Neil Diamond. So I played, love it, still makes me want to dance. Thanks Neil, for the beautiful and heartwarming memories!!

    C.... M....

Hasta imaginé la voz del locutor! Qué mágica que es la radio.

    C.... M....
