it's such a break from their usual style. it sounds like tom waits, but without the pretentious hobo clowning. it's just quiet, melancholic, beautiful.

This is one of the songs that remind me why the national is my favorite band.

I think they made Slow Show because they realised this one wasn't very good... I'm a massive fan of The National but I'm not a fan of this song at all

this version has something.. I don't think "slow show" is better, is another song.. but with a piece of this one..
