Nat King Cole - Embraceable You Lyrics

Embrace me
My sweet embraceable you
Embrace me
You, irreplaceable you

Just one look at you
My heart grows tipsy in me
You and you alone
Bring out the gypsy in me

I love all
The many charms about you
Above all
I want my arms around you

Don't be a naughty baby
Come to papa, come to papa do
My sweet embraceable you

Don't be a naughty baby
Come to papa, come to papa do
My sweet embraceable you

Another of my favorite interpretations of Gershwin' s piece, along with Ella Fitzgerald and Charlie Parker, one of the greatest interpretations of the piece by Gershwin.. if interested, please let me know what you think of my modern rendition recently recorded at UCLA -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSP-T6ss1tE

    There was always something so
beautiful about his great voice and that guitar here. I' ve never been able to get those chords out of my head.

  11. C.... D....

My body really melted like I was in an opium den in China.... Every stroke of the piano felt like a raindrop, and Nat's voice guides me like a wind sail.

    timeless

I would come home from school and my Pops would be playing albums from people like Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Eydie Gorme etc., and I would say with disgust, "what is that stuff on the record player?". He would just tell me that it's good music. Well, back in 1965, I wasn't hearing it! Fast forward to 2017.........I listen to my Pops music every single day!

    P.... W....

I'm right there with you...and your Pops. I could even hear this NKC classic being played within our stadium as fans file out and continue their celebration beating Georgia for the Eastern Division crown and a chance to whip Alabama. It is that good, that smooth, and that much of a classic, just like our Kentucky Wildcats football team.

    P.... W....

    It never gets old

    P.... W....

Exactly! With my parents it was Tony Bennett and Andy Williams. If youth but knew...

WHAT STYLE OF JAZZ IS THIS CONSIDERED?!?!?

    K.... M....

cool jazz is correct. Although I would caution this....Miles Davis is also cool jazz but not the same as cole. Perhaps he is sentimental jazz. Really he is his own style. More along the line of a grant green cool jazz.

    K.... M....

    something like this transcends style....fugghedaboutit

    K.... M....

    COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOl jazz

Good song and one I like to hear both by Nat King Cole and by Jane Froman.  Both were excellent singers in their own right and i wonder why can't we have singers like they were today.
