[Intro: Nas (Redhead Kingpin)]
Aiyyo check it out y'all this is Nas, y'all know what I do to the business
(Yeah! Uh!!!) I bring back the business (Nas you my dude for this B)
Awww man y'all ain't ready (Straight check it)
Here they are the remix, let's go

[Verse 1: Redhead Kingpin]
It's Kingpin plus two I'm on the guestlist fam
But if this dude ain't like thirty he don't know who I am
Boo boo my name, monetary gain is better than fame
But let's face it without the spotlight you thinkin Red is Eddie Kane
If I was drugs then I used to be a key
Now I'm a couple ounce, on the come up hustle me
Yeah, and hip hop man ain't no 401K
I got my MPC I'll see you one day

[Verse 2: Rob Base]
("Hit it!") I'm still here, still flippin flows
Still rippin shows, Rob Base let me get ill yo!
It's the O.G., (who?) R to the O-B
B to the A-S-E, reppin N.Y.C.
I toured the country, since I dropped my first CD (what?)
"It Takes Two", remember me?
If you don't it's the one that hit you with the WHOO YEAH
Used to make it so hot, you couldn't breathe the air

[Verse 3: The Original Spinderella]
Ain't but too much for you to sweller
Hard body, fuckin wit a Coke bottle model
Auburn, full back and observe
while I BLAP BLAP to your nerves, uh! (OH!)
I'm that Original, S-P twelve hunnid
Anything y'all will do, Spin dunn done it
The baguettes, the Prada stilet's
On the turntables, call me Gillette

[Verse 4: Father MC]
Yo! First of all big up to Nas the killer rip spitter
The Q.B. hitter called this Far Rock nigga
Yeah I'm drippin heavy from my head to my feet
From the bars that I spit to my name on her cheeks
Catch me on the mixtape, Bentley with the Queen draped
Pilot on deck G5 when I gotta skate
Let you know when I'm out on the dough that shows I'm sellin them
My LP's drugs nigga be like runnin listen

[Chorus: Nas]
(HEY!! Where are, where they nooooooow, huuuhhhhhooohhh HEY!)
{Awww man can you believe it it's like a holiday man}
{It's like Nas bringin a rap holiday man, ha ha ha, yeah}
(Where are they now?)
(HEY! Hit me! Where are they nooooooow?)
{Here they are , two thousand and seven they right here, yeah, they right here}

[Verse 5: Monie Love]
One baby drop two to the three
Is she out for the count UK mic deceased?
You never heard again from words not the least
I checked first set net worth mic relief
Remain calm more vowels spit battles
And associate the kid when they hustlin up the cattle
I don't care to give when they ride like a saddle
Hip Hop crowd well in doubt where are you now?

[Verse 6: Mike G. from The Jungle Brothers]
It's the Jungle Brothers (housin) with that fiiiiiive thousand
Blowin up your project housin, Baby Bam Lee just bouncin
Make me wanna crack a 40 ounce and, and straight get LOUD and
Chase her blouse and, turn her out
cause I know we rockin party it's all about
Aiyyo cool calm collected and my name is Mike G.
And I'm reppin for Nas and my crew the J Beez!

[Verse 7: EST from 3XDope]
Eight bars, ten stars, fuck five mics!
I'm (The Source) and the boss, show you what it's like
to play bad mitten at the top of your position
Wit a whole lotta niggas wouldn't play but it's written
I'm the first to murk, chea! Representin Philly boy
the same kid that spit this wrote ?Baby Gram?
Nicholas one son the (Greatest Man) livin
True school be like e'ryday thanksgiving

[Verse 8: Positive K]
Pos. K! Uh, uh, still spits this summer
Came up like I hit the number, yeah y'all know me!
I'm not a stranger to y'all in the orgies
Squeeze ya dick up in ya in the ear as if ya for me
I'm more "primetime" than Maury
Plus I took ya to the "Bridge" like James Brown and Nas applaud me
My rhymes is suppository, it feels shit
Top {?} watch Nemo then they watch the stories

[Chorus: Nas]
(HEY!! Where are, where they nooooooow, huuuhhhhhooohhh HEY!)
{Yeah did you hear your favorite yet?}
{I know some of y'all buggin out, did you hear the dudes y'all used to like? the crazyness?}
(Where are they now?)
(HEY! Hit me! Where are they nooooooow?)
{The Original Spinderella, all that, awww man, I can't believe it yo, don't go nowhere}
{I got more!!! I got more!!!}

[Verse 9: Krazy Drazy from Das EFX]
Miggity [microphone check], "Where Are they Now" Nas remix
Feel how real Hip Hop needs this
Wish B.I.G, Pun, and Pac could see this
Diggity Das-EFX piggity pioneers in this
Made his kids just reminded y'all
Throwback go back to the nineties y'all
Look it up, hook it up, get the catalog
We your favorite rappers, rappers, rappin dog

[Verse 10: Mr. Do It All from Lords Of The Underground]
Yeah I go Nas, Lord Do It All
Me and you got something in common through Marley Marl
Burst in the bricks, talked to buyin ?leather?
Golden aged flows, you sound undiscovered
I do this with a passion, spray-paint tag in
Hip Hop's alive, and I'm the breathing dragon
On the stage whylin, jumpin and laughin
It's Lords of the Underground and that's if you're askin!

[Verse 11: Chip Fu from The Fu-Schickens]
Yo! I strip the booth anytime my lips move
And it spews, my screws and they loose, I'm a move and it's proof
Now give me two minutes I'm still wicked and still kickin it
With skills built and hot {?} you can't step in my shoes YO!!
When I'm in the mood, when I'm in the booth and whenever when you
I spit phantom in a boost you better just prepare to make room!
Nas give me eight bars, eight stars Escobar
Yo we rule, and we still ain't got nothin to prove, yo!

[Verse 12: Dres from Black Sheep]
For the second I'm wreckin I got you double-checkin
For me to flash your big chain wheeler, shiny weapon, step in and holla
I gotta hit the kids that shit Hip Hop
The wack gets spit lot, the man bullshit stop
Yo they call lot and I accept the invitation
But I not try and snitch upon my ?inclamation?
On the real God, I'm good, a brother been in mediation
and my mind has been kenotic, kill the pres led a netion, Dres

[Outro: Nas]
Aiyyo Chi Ali hold ya head up in the peniles
This your man Nas, here they are
Unbelievable, Hip Hop is Dead

absolutely love this mix my man Nas in full effect artists of today can only wish of making a tune like this

  9. t.... ....

Redhead Kingpin and especially Krazy Drazy were best.

  10. v.... ....

That was 9 years ago. I guess Nasty Nas didn't have enough confidence in any of them to get them a deal? Additionally, I guess none of them chose to market the hell out of this track to reboost their career either. That is the issue. When you lack entrepreneurial skills, you will miss the magical ride on the rainbow of opportunity.

    v.... ....

It's not like anyone heard this song, or any of the verses were worthy of a deal.

    v.... ....

    father mc

    v.... ....

Yeah, at the time one journalist speculated that Nas could've easily taken everyone featured on the various mixes and put them all on a "Where Are They Now?" concept album. Missed opportunities indeed.

    v.... ....

"When you lack entrepreneurial skills, you will miss the magical ride on the rainbow of opportunity."

...just letting you know now that i AM stealing this. thanks.

    v.... ....

What? Nas gave them Spot light. He gave them the spotlight they haven't had in years.. Fuck he need to do the footwork to get them a deal for? He is a rapper not a CEO or a A&R. He already stated he would never play that role cause it's a dirty game.

  11. B.... F....

Chip Fu ya heard! wildin' on this track.

    B.... F....

B.L. Frazer He stole the show!

  12. M.... M....

The narrative of this track is kinda offensive..

    M.... M....

+Matt M True, but there is an interview onhere of NAS and he stated he wanted people to google the names he was dropping to let the new school know how hip hop stayed alive. Cuz promise you if this new hip hop now was first, we would be listening to Adele all day. These new cats have ZERO lyrics. Nas did say hip hop was dead

    M.... M....

How? By allowing the artists he mentioned to let you know where they are? Like WTF man.. It's no pleasing you motherfuckers.

  13. L.... B....

OF COURSE ONLY NAS THE MASTER COULD BRING BACK LEGENDS AND RIPP THE DAMN MIC!!!!!

    I WAS WILDINN!!
YO NAS NEED TO GO AHEAD AND MAKE ANOTHER ONE OF THESE WITH EVEN MORE ARTIST!!!!

  14. C.... ....

Jay z go to school! Not too late money!

  15. D.... ....

    This is hip hop heaven

  16. a.... l....

speechless and proud this was my era.

  17. M.... W....

Nas warned us back in 2005 hip hop was on the verge of death and look where hip hop is in 2014..dead. It obviously wasn't hard to see it happening. Now we got these bullshit excuse of emcees like Kendrick Lamar, schoolboy q,Joey baddass and action Bronson. They ain't real emcees kids, peep the word. One love

    M.... W....

You doof your list of "hip hop killing" rappers has some of the best new rappers in it...I can see if you said rappers like 2 chainz , migos, gucci mane and etc. But At least 2 of the rappers you named make influential music. And no they aren't "emcees" they are lyricist. Different titles for different genres of rap.

    M.... W....

To call Action Bronson one of the killers of Hip hop is straight asinine. Dude is like the second coming of 90's New York

    M.... W....

ScHoolboy Q and Action Bronson are weak lyricists. Especially ScHoolboy Q

  18. b.... ....

Krazy Drazy's beat break and flow was virgin tight

  19. G.... ....

flames. shouts to nas for doin this

  20. L.... ....

I love this. I liked Redhead Kingpin and Chip-Fu's part. He should've released this on a promo cd or something.

    L.... ....

    L.... ....

    Ha ! I know.

  21. E.... V....

    The golden age baby

  22. t.... ....

At 1:21 I'm positive when Father MC is saying "G5 when I gotta escape" he's referring to a Gulfstream 5 (the airplane) not the Pontiac G5.

    t.... ....

    triton2toro wow

    t.... ....

Father m c vs the Fresh Prince? Who was the best MC?

    t.... ....

    😂😂😂💯

  23. b.... ....

hands down this is one of the best remixes ever done....Nas deserves props for not only doing this record but going to get artists from the 90's,80's and west coast to do 3 different versions of this.....

  24. C.... ....

  38. M.... J....

That's some REAL shit right Hurr!! Let 'em know!! ;D

  39. M.... M....

You did a very good job with this video. I'm sure it took a bit of time to get all those jpegs along with editing them all in sequence of the music. Kudo's to your effort.

    M.... M....

true dat. love the montage at the end. classic joints

  40. M.... ....

Why didn't he make a Southern remix? There's plenty of old school lyrical Southerners that aren't in the spotlight anymore. People often forger that.

  41. N.... ....

    4.14. OMGOMG

  42. A.... J....

Man, this was great! Loved seeing these cats. Nas took it back to when hiphop was in the crib, suckin' on the bottle. It was cool of him to have these MC's that were around in the earlier years of hiphop. Most nowadays don't know anything about these cats (and probably don't even care about them, either) but it was cool of Nas to pay homage to them:)

  43. T.... E....

they should play this video on music channels for real, it's better than 1000k videos rappers do nowadays....

  44. D.... ....

    i got a man!

  45. T.... ....

This collage is immaculate as fuck bra, good shit

  46. J.... ....

Sun this vid you did is official, the song speaks for itself, NaS is Hiphop's shinin light and caretaker. Good lookin on this shit I know it must've takin you a minute.. ONE LUV

  49. C.... W....

@DJCOGNITIV you gotta do an 80's one

  50. d.... ....

remember when black sheep first hit the air, it was like godDAMMN!! i listened to
and LOTUG had shit locked with tic toc...
    those days are gone forever.

  51. A.... ....

@MissCedarbridge1 Mike G is a member of the Jungle Brothers who was in the native tongue posse with a tribe called quest, queen latife, & de la soul though they werent as popular as them.

  52. m.... ....

Nas is amazing. Nas is now a true legend. Much respect to this man for bringing real hip hop back.

  53. v.... ....

    Thanks for dat yo

  54. G.... ....

    @tbt4life

    No problem.

  55. G.... ....

    @tbt4life

The main sample from the original song is "Set it off" by James Brown. I can't give you the names of all of the songs but "They Want EFX" is sampled when Krazy Drayzy raps from 3:15 to 3:33 and "The Choice is Yours" is sampled when Dres spits from 4:10 till 4:28.

  56. G.... ....

    @nebuluz

    There is no official video.

  57. M.... C....

    who is Mike G

  58. i.... ....

A small list of the MC's that made me fall in love with HIP-HOP.

  59. f.... ....

This is why rap music is the greatest of all music genres. We pay homeage to the past, present and the future. All these joints are "Rap Classics"!

  60. V.... d....

    Monie love, Tooooo Fine.

  61. B.... ....

@annimoni93 Awesome Don't Even Being To Appropriately Describe How Unbelievably Dope This Song Is With So Many Legends Coming Together On One Track. This Is A Semi-Crash Course In Getting A Lesson On The Golden Yeas And The True School Era Of Hip-Hop. Simply Speechless Is What This Leaves You...L(

  62. s.... ....

Big Up to NAS for bringing these legends together. Real intelligent man NAS know his history. I am an old school cat from way back...

  63. B.... e....

    that was hype

  64. C.... S....

Could you imagine how bad this would suck if they tried to do this with these new fools?

It would sound like shit like that punk ass song Quincy made for the Haiti Earthquake. Yeah, the heart was in the right place but the line up was fucked!

  65. e.... ....

    Monie Love still got it!

  66. A.... H....

    DAMN!! This is awesome *_*

  73. G.... ....

The more I listen to this track, the more I love Kingpin's verse. He destroyed the track. Matter fact, they all did.

  74. N.... ....

straight hip hop fuck commercial rap !

  75. K.... J....

All the way from NZ, Aotearoa lovin it!

  76. b.... ....

what happened to positive k's voice?

  77. G.... ....

    @diynamite45

They should go into hiding. What I love is how these old rappers could STILL rule the game if they wanted to but they're content to just sit back and watch the youngsters embarrass themselves.

  78. 1.... ....

Nas released these a couple years back via his myspace....

  79. I.... t....

Awweee MAN I miss this stuff!! HIP HOP!!!! It's like breathing a freash doseage of AIR!! GAWD the rap game SUCKS!!! I would FLOOD the airwaves with this joint! F*CK lil wayne, lil john, young joc, young jeezy, hurricane crap chris, soulja boy, david banner, bone crusher, mike jones, plies, rick ross, chingy....too many garbage rappers to name that would fit in this comment.

  80. G.... ....

Well said man. I'm 18 and I definitely prefer 90s rap to the majority of today's rap. I was too young to follow rap at the time but just because I wasn't fan of an artist from the start doesn't mean I'm not fan. I wish Dres' verse was longer but it was great nonetheless.

  81. N.... N....

Ok song I guess, though a couple weren't hot to begin with (Father MC, Rob Base, LOTUG).

  82. s.... ....

Great job w/ the Video!! it's sick!

  83. o.... ....

I've hated Nas since Nastradameus but this kinda redeems him a little .I'm still listening to all the old school stuff there really isn't anything new worth listening to anyway.Instead of crying about how Hip Hop is dead and how bad it sucks just go back and listen to the stuff you haven't heard from the 80's and 90's.

  84. O.... S....

born in 85 and been laughing at the radio since 96

  85. C.... S....

Pfft! Put this on the radio and I might listen since for the first time since Clinton was in office.

Stop calling that bullshit on the radio "Hip Hop".

  86. E.... ....

ROckabok.....ima be needing this if you can send this to me please.....it's undescribably ill...

  87. .... ....

yup yup dis is the one i got. anyone need you can try to ask me if u want it=P

    nas<3

  88. i.... ....

    Enjoyed that man.
Seems to take on another level when Dray from digeddy Das Efx comes on!
Then the remaining emcees kill it!
    Doitall (LOTUG)
    Chip-Fu (Fu-Schikens)
    Dres (Black Sheep)

  89. 1.... ....

ol school rappers get no respect

  90. I.... ....

I was born in 1991 and I personally like old school shit so much more than the stupid hip pop shit that's on the radio nowadays... Yea... Fuck Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy and all those other clowns...

  91. 1.... ....

people who are trying to become rappers need to study 70s-now

  92. t.... ....

Very enlightening video. I'm glad someone had the desire to put all these folks (arguably some of the most talented in rap music) into a song showcasing their work in a positive light. Some of the artists I thought I'd never get to hear from again.

I think a lot of kids today who think they know rap should investigate the late eighties/early nineties, the mix tapes, etc. There were a lot of influential folks who are seemingly forgotten now.

  93. V.... P....

well it aint in the album. the original "where are they now?" is there but this aint.. 2 bad tho

  94. r.... ....

    hip hop is dead
the album name i mean not literally

  95. j.... ....

Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU for posting this! Which of Nas' albums is this on?

  96. D.... ....

    That shit was hot Nas

  97. J.... G....

    Niiiice visuale Peeeace

  98. M.... ....

there are only a few main stream, if you will, rap artists that have skills, eminem, common just to name a few.
