Napalm Death - Twist The Knife (Slowly) Lyrics

Gut level, below it all.
Out of duty - just here.

Feeling like a knife's being twisted in the hole of how it is.

False hope, an inch of pride that died when I left to hide from non stop
battering of conditioned opinion.

Rest assured but not assured, all is well, but I think we've dealt
with the fear for far too long.

Unborn suffer the norm.
Born to this - I thin not!
I stand against till the shit drops.

We see all but do nothing, in the hole of "How it is".

  20. X.... ....

I remember buying this on cassette when I was 12 back in 1993, and only because I knew the record guy that worked in the basement (where all the non-popular music was like punk [real punk pre-1987], death/speed metal, trip-hop, alternative, techno, psychobilly, etc) and that we shared likeness for many of the same groups, that he would sell me albums you normally had to be 18 to buy and music stores when the "explicit" label started showing up (thanks again Tipper Gore & Nancy Reagan) because they were very strict on not selling to minors and demanding for ID.
I got so many great death metal and hardcore punk albums from that store it's sick, I miss you Andy from the old Music Baron basement in Winnipeg....

Death Metal stuff they did in 90's is the best in their discography

  51. W.... B....

fear factory could have been death metal this reminds me of songs from soul of a new machine! sounds a lot like Burton C. Bell.

    W.... B....

Wild Bill When i first heard the song i actually thought it was early FF

    W.... B....

actually i was wondering when demanufacture came out why they changed the tone. i was prefering the soul of new machine more...

    W.... B....

mark barney of the first napalm death was influence to burton of fear factory they themselves f f have admitted it greetings friends. that form of vowels of napalm death began many years before fear factory, guys ,Both bands are great but I prefer napalm death 👍

  54. R.... R....

    Безусловно, лучший альбом напалма

  55. J.... S....

Awesome start: a waterfall of voice from a wall of guitars. In my opinión one of their best records.

  56. O.... H....

turns out after about 20 years since I've first heard this song as a child, the lyrics are really deep and righteous.
"unborn suffer the norm" no truer words ever said.

  57. s.... ....

    Mortal Kombat y'all

    s.... ....

    scrimm_bloody_gore_
Thanks to the OST I heard Napalm Death for the first time in this track. :D

    s.... ....

The scene where Goro is kicking the crap out of all challengers.

    s.... ....

    Lol! Nice combination. Love it!

  58. S.... F....

Like a lot of kids who bought the Mortal Kombat soundtrack, this was my first exposure to death metal. I had no idea what the fuck was going on musically, but I dug it. It still took me going through a thrash phase in high school before really appreciating death metal, but I digress. This song fucking rules and should have become the template for death metal going into the late 90's/early 00's. Instead everybody started doing that Gothenburg shit or tending towards deathcore's endless breakdown model. This is atmospheric and rhythmically interesting while still being brutal as shit.

    S.... F....

    Danny Brown lol

    S.... F....

Mortal Kombat soundtrack was my very first cd back in 95, man I was not expecting this kind of music on it but fuck me if it did not change my life for the better, for better music compared to the rap and r n b garbage I used to listen to. Metalhead forever \m/

    S.... F....

Dude! Me too! When I first heard this I have to admit that it was too brutal for my young mind at the time, I was just starting to get into metal. It's still one of my favorite songs of all time and now I'm experienced enough to truly appreciate it more. I have to thank the makers of the Mortal Kombat soundtrack for being so awesome.

    S.... F....

Holy shit, this was my first CD as well, I kid you not! Just like you brother my musical world was opened up to a new horizon of awesomeness, I never went back to rap crap or pop ever again.

    S.... F....

sensiepunk Holy shit, this was my first CD as well, I kid you not! Just like you brother my musical world was opened up to a new horizon of awesomeness, I never went back to rap crap or pop ever again.

  64. B.... N....

This song made me a metalhead. Thank you Napalm Death.

    B.... N....

Holy shit what an introduction! Mine was Trial By Fire by Testament, god-tier thrash song but this is heavier by a long shot. This same song was on a wakeboard video called Switch around the same time Mortal Kombat came out, those were the days

+RoleModelTV wait, so he's not saying, "all will suffer"?

    R.... ....

(2 years old comment)...uhm - the REAL lyrics are "Unborn suffer! Unborn suffer! Unborn suffer the norm"...but back then I was talkin' about misleading lyrics...long story, man.
