Napalm Death - My Own Worst Enemy Lyrics

Played out, wide off the mark
Genie develops
Skin to fiction
More then in a world of fact

My own worst enemy
My own worst enemy
Lifes feel treachery
My own worst enemy

Dams of emotion build
A dull and turbid scream
Cloudlike veils of black
In fungles of hopes oppressed

[repeat chorus]

So many times,
For no reason
So many promised punches
For what reason?

Ceaseless decay
Parallel obscene and flagreaf
Ceaseless decay
Restrained my mind cells

So many times,
For no reason
So many promised punches
For what reason?

Ceaseless decay
Parallel obscene and flagreaf
Ceaseless decay
Restrained my mind cells

[repeat verses 3 4]
[repeat verse 1 and chorus]

Napalm Death My Own Worst Enemy Comments
  1. K.... R....

There are currently 9 tone deaf people out there who are they're own worst enemies

  2. m.... ....

This is quickly becoming my favorite Napalm Death album. This songs reminds me of Sepultura and NYC hardcore smashed together with grind

  3. F.... d....

    Die!!! - Barney

  4. F.... L....

    Masterpiece.

  5. A.... ....

sorry, but i love it it! best 3 songs come from this album

  6. A.... A....

I do like this song, but this period in NP's catalog is severely lacking.

  7. A.... A....

This was the low point of their musical careers. Once their contract with Earache ended, they went back to being the hyperspeed grind gods they used to be...

    A.... A....

It really had to do with Barney quitting the band and joining Extreme Noise Terror. Barney did one album with them, meanwhile Phil from ENT joined NP, but never recorded an album. Barney wasn't happy with the direction, he was more of a huge fan of Scum and From Enslavement.

  8. H.... ....

My Favorite Napalm Death Album, finally clean and well produced.

  9. J.... T....

LOVE the guitar! But the vocals, I'll need to get used to those cx

  10. R.... V....

    nazi FUCK OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    R.... V....

Nazi, that doesn't exclude left, any Radicalism is Bad...

  11. m.... ....

Exactly. One way to realize the validity of a cultural product is to observe the reactions it generates in conformist people

  12. m.... ....

    don't like grind vocals?
I was like you, but after 6months i was addicted to it.

    m.... ....

don´t like the barney `style ,i prefered Lee Dorrian `style

  13. M.... ....

    *Multible Eargasms*

  14. e.... ....

i think Greenways vocals sound much better (more human) on this then on latest albums (over-processed and muddy)

  15. S.... C....

@FrankySnot i guess if you're frustrated then you post shit about random stuff

  16. E.... ....

@FrankySnot Was actually about 12 when i got into this, 29 now. What kind of bullshit where you listening to at that age? Hootie and the blowfish?

People that go on songs to comment about songs they do not like tend to have a low self esteem, and low intelligence. Nice job making yourself look dumb shit talked.

  17. B.... L....

I guess if you are 12 this is a form of entertainment.

  18. B.... L....

    Definitely MORONS!!!!!

  19. B.... L....

C'mon? This music isn't a hilarious joke? Then you are a moron!

    B.... L....

    beiber fan go to hell

  20. B.... L....

Are there any sane people listening to this garbage? This is totally hilarious.

  21. O.... ....

I think that the important thing it's not the style, is that the album is good. There's some perfect grindcore albums like Scum, and some grindcore bands that suck, as there's some awesome cybergrind like The Berzerker and some suckish cybergrind as new Morbid Angel.
And this is a great groove album.

  22. T.... M....

Diatribes is the best -ruff,agressive,rhythmic,none of metal bands that time had never dare to make smthn like it

  23. p.... a....

@eternalshock "the fucking shit is " a good thing dude

  24. B.... ....

@eternalshock I took that "is the fucking shit" expression as it was meant to say "this is awesome!"

  25. m.... ....

Pantera or Exhorder Created Groove Metal or was it Bad Brains but Napalm Death Created GrindCore DeathGrind but this album is ok but the greatest their ever made but their early efforts were awesome

    m.... ....

ND invented Grindcore. Terrorizer invented Death Grind. Both bands play neither genre anymore. Terrorizer are just another L.A. grind band, and ND have been Death Metal for over a decade now.

  26. D.... P....

diatribes. probably the most weird album for a band like nd. less blast beats more groove.
