Muddy Waters - She Moves Me Lyrics

She moves me man, honey and I don't see how its done
She moves me man, honey and I don't see how its done
She gotta pocket full of money, little doll don't try to help me though

She move me when she get drunk, then she say I'm not nowhere
She call me a dumbbell, she tells me I'm nothing but a square
She moves me man, honey and I don't see how its done
She got a pocket full of money, the little girl don't try to help me though
(What kinda woman is that?)

She move a crazy man, who say now I'm not so dumb
I take her to a funeral boy, the dead jumped up to run
She look at a deaf and dumb boy, said now I can speak
She shook her finger in a blind man's face, once I was blind but now I see
She moves me man, honey and I don't see how its done
She gotta pocket full of money, the little girl don't try to help me though

He looks like Martin Luther King Jr but like a weird version

    S.... T....

Hahaha yeah is this comment so funny

    S.... T....

Its a bad  camera angle, he was better than that shot.

  13. K.... R....

    Little Walter killing that harmonica

  14. C.... V....

Brilliant this music of Muddy ,we keep it alive.

  15. D.... A....

I was fortunate to have seen The Man in Minneapolis in 1969. I'll never forget it!

    D.... A....

Man my pop said the same thing unbelievable show he got to see him and then couple hours after the show they were out of little dive bar and everybody was there including Muddy Waters my pops said he was pretty nice guy but the show he said he will never ever see anything like that again

  16. M.... J....

what kind of harmonica is this?

    M.... J....

+Gary Corcoran I have been playing harp for nearly 50 years as a pro and if that is a chromatic on this recording, I will eat a Tin Sandwhich with no chaser! I say with absolute, 100% certainty, that it was a Hohner Marine Band Model 1896. You sure have a really great imagination tho, bro!

    M.... J....

    what a load of rubbish

    M.... J....

Walter is using a Bb Marine Band, playing in second position (key of F). The chromatic wasn't used until later on.

    M.... J....

He did make use of chromatics, but this is definitely not an example.

    M.... J....

I aint no musician, but he did play chromatic, not all the time though.

  17. A.... D....

    du costaud !

    A.... D....

Pas ici. Il ne voit pas comment ça se passe, Alain Darchen.

  18. J.... F....

Fabulous, perfectly timed conversation between Walter and Muddy. Unsurpassed, in my book!

    J.... F....

Yes it would be difficult top do a better take, and 1951 too, Len Chess on Bass drum.

  19. M.... S....

Muddy ! He's The Greatest Blues MAN...thanks his works.

  20. P.... H....

Thanks, BaronTurco. Seemed pretty good. Guess with MW & LW they're so well accredited that it's hard to make an objective comparison. Most are good, but the pairing of those two legends takes some beating.

  21. B.... ....

Look up: Mudbone Clark with Richard Martin Ross and Deacon Jones My Own Fault on YouTube. That's not a bad video of Mudbone.

  22. B.... ....

He's located in L.A. right now where he's a big draw. Little Walter was 1st, but he's as good or better, if that's possible. He's a 65 yr old legend here in California. I'm fortunate enough to back him up on bass on some gigs. There are YouTube videos of him, but they don't do him justice at all.

  23. P.... H....

Don't know that man - but if he's as good as Little Walter he must be good. Thanks for your reply.

  24. B.... ....

You've got to hear Mudbone Clark. He's amazing.

  25. P.... H....

How clear is Little Walter's harp playing! It's like a bell - no wonder he's considered the greatest blues harmonica player whoever lived.

  26. s.... ....

I just love that fat tone Muddy gets out of his guitar with his slide on the 1st string.
That, for sure, is a Dearmond FHC pickup on an archtop guitar. Nothing else has as fat a tone as that pickup. I've got one of those pickups and can get the same fat sound.

  27. g.... ....

Bass drum is done by Leonard Chess himself on this track.

  28. R.... W....

    Funky as hell.

But it don't got nuthin' to do with the devil..
    Although...
    On second thought...

    Funky as hell.

    R.... W....

Well theres fair number of others of the time have that fire & brimstone feel, sound, lacking in todays blues. Like early Wolf tracks , savage swing.

  29. r.... b....

    MOOOOOOOVES ME MAN LOL

  30. M.... S....

    I will marry a bluesman

  31. T.... ....

    pure heaven

  32. R.... M....

RJ king of MW? SH king of RJ...

  33. B.... ....

@MyMartinez93 Also, Robert Johnson would be King of All Modern Music, so that killed that idea, Robert Johnson is king of all. Muddy Waters is just a slave under Robert and his mighty guitar, bow down for the REAL King :)

    B.... ....

BlueJeanBopper you really must be dumb if you still think robert was the best in the blues

  34. T.... ....

@MyMartinez93 I know a LOT about Rock and Roll and Blues, trust me, but they still aren't the same thing, Muddy Waters isn't the king of rock and roll simply because he did not play rock(I would partially agree on a king of blues stance though.)

  35. T.... ....

@MyMartinez93 ¨Sorry, Blues and Rock and Roll is not the same.

Both are just as good though, so whatever.

  36. J.... ....

is that lenoard chess on kick drum??? i heard that somewhere

    J.... ....

    Correct  its Len.

    J.... ....

Yes. He wisely knew it was all the track needed.

  37. S.... ....

    Muddy Waters!

  38. L.... ....

this was on Entourage last night, hadn't hear it in a while - still sounds great.

    Cheers.

  39. c.... ....

    Entourage!

  40. g.... ....

@fredG1941 You seen the movie Chess Records, starring Adrian Brody?

  41. r.... ....

    This is super fine blues.

  42. F.... G....

I read about Leonard Chess playing drums on this track (she moves me) in a book titled the CHESS STORY. I play drums myself. This has to be the most basic drumming I've ever heard. It has got to be a Leonard. FRED GALLANT

    F.... G....

Basic was the whole idea! Like a "work song."

  43. l.... ....

my favorite blues of all time..thanx!!

  44. t.... ....

Hi just reading Robert palmer's Deep Blues he has a long anecdote from Muddy Waters saying that it was Chess playing bass drum because Muddy's own drummer couldn't handle it

  45. b.... ....

Don't believe that nonsense! Down through the years, Leonard Chess claimed that he worked the bass drum; struck two-by-four; stamped his feet, and who knows what, so that he could claim writer's credit and copy rights to the song. That is, obviously, a professional perussionist , most likely Willie Dixon, holding down that beat. If Leonard Chess had been that good on drums, he would have clearly been invited to participate musically on many other Blues recordings.

    b.... ....

It is Chess because he was wise enough to know it was all the track needed. No, he was not a musician, but he knew and loved the blues and we are the richer for the innumerable classics he produced.

  46. O.... ....

@BlueRevival And Leonard Chess on bass drum.

  47. T.... ....

    @BlueRevival yes

  48. B.... ....

great tune. Is that Little Walter on harp?

  49. M.... D....

    Thanks for posting!
