Moyet, Alison - Ode To Boy II Lyrics

When he moves I watch him from behind
He turns and laughter flickers in his eyes
Intent and direct when he speaks
I watch his lips

When he drives I love to watch his hands
White, smooth, almost feminine
Almost American
I love to watch him

In his face age descends on youth
Exaggeration on the truth
He caught me looking then but soon his eyes forgot me
And everything he seems to do
Reflects just another shade of blue
I saw her searching into you and ached a while

I watch his lips caress the glass
His finger stroke its stem and pass
To lift a cigarette at last
He dries his eyes
From the shadows by the stairs
I watch as he weeps unaware
That I'm in awe of his despair

In his face age descends on youth
Exaggeration on the truth
He caught me looking then but soon his eyes forgot me
And everything he seems to do
Reflects just another shade of blue
I saw her searching into you and ached a while

    band full of attitude 👏👏👏

  8. S.... M....

If she released this today she'd have to change the lyrics "I love to watch his hands. white and smooth" to "black and smooth", to avoid being called a racist by leftwing nazis. As it is, she recently challenged the transgender fascists by arguing correctly that 'trans women' aren't real women.

    S.... M....

    Pillock.

    S.... M....

No she wouldn't. She decided to sing the original lyric of Whispering your name as an ode to a female but she isn't a lesbian. I hardly think she would give a damn, since she wrote it.

  9. B.... F....

    yes that rocks

I like it but still think the original is better. I think she should of done something in between the two. Sorry not knocking this version Alison you got a God’s gift of a voice. I think this version works better for people today maybe but I just love your Yazoo version because I was bought on that version. Alison you sound good in everything you do because your voice is just beautiful it makes angels cry with happiness.

  11. T.... T....

Sounds like,The Who pinball wizard to me

  12. T.... ....

I'm not sure it works it's way to fast almost erratic compared to the original

  13. D.... ....

Love it, love it, love it!!!!!! Did I mention I love it?

  14. p.... ....

Ruined a perfect ode by trying to make it commercially attractive.
I agree this woman is effing incredible (i have always been and do remain a fan), but this rendition, in no way, creates the same emotional atmosphere of the original. It was the spirit of the piece that spoke to me. And this leaves me cold.

    p.... ....

I somewhat disagree. While I remember and enjoyed the original I really like the energy in this version, and her vocal! Yowza!
