Movement, The - Impressions Lyrics
I said I woke up hung over on the weekend
Slept my days away
It's 3:30 in the p.m. dreaming of the words I wish I could say
And so I was thinking everything was just right smooth
Thinking that you was in just the right mood but
'Cause I never got no call from you
Alright
Now tell me what it was I was supposed to do
I was wasted away in my head
Was it the rose petaling or the door opening or a little love letter instead
And indeed I couldn't read between the lines no
I'm feeling a bit confused
But I said now what to do
When I finally get the message clear
I was under the impression
That we was doing it right
I said I woke up in the mornin on a weekday
Had this feelin in my head
I rolled over and under my covers
Was a strange girl layin in my bed
Come on two years later she's sayin she loves me
I really don't know just what to do
I feel like I love her but under my covers
I'll never say goodbye to you
I said now could you run it by me just one more time
I really wasn't sure of what you said
I was too busy getting caught up in the lies
From the sweet other side of my bed
I said now I could never imagine or even possibly fathom
The day that you would turn away
But I realize that when you're walking
And I'm doing all the talking
That you never had no words to say
I was under the impression
That we was doing it right

Movement, The Impressions Comments
Theres a bunch of reggae songs with that chord prog... no one is ripping off anyone you fucking idiots.
This riddim was also sampled by Slightly Stoopid in "Officer"
Mr brown is a fucking classic so fuck u if you think that they ripped it off from Marley he created this shit either way without him the movement wouldn't still be doing this cause Bob spread love and that's what he wants is people to keep spreading that love. And mr brown is also a beautiful song if I could make music I would want to sample that song too. The movement is dope I hate dumb ass people
LOVE THAT STRANGE GIRL IN YOUR BED
the melody or something is similar in the 311 song and Bob song but other than that they're very very different. I don't think the movement ripped off either group, and if they may have then they did so in honor of them because that's how it works with these types of artists/groups
Agreed. People dont understand that in reggae riddims are beats or instrumentals that each individual artist makes their own versions of, and also just sampling in general.
@Fat Max the movement plays with marley family and 311 on the regular. i dont think it would be happening if thwere was any anomosity
Your all dip shits this song is ripped off of Bob Marley and the Wailers- Mr Brown
@John Zeidman na, yea, na
wtf is everyone hating about? all the songs yall have mentioned are amazing, they all have their own style, beat, or some kind of mix up. we shouldnt judge the bands cause they "sound alike" just feel it.
Sounds Like MR Brown BY Bob MArley
