I find that I need to sit with a new Mountain Goats song and just kinda resonate with it for a while, and then I really appreciate it properly. Like, sometimes I dont like the songs at first, but as I listen to them a few times inbetween the songs that hit me more thoroughly, I find myself not skipping. (The podcast definitely helps me give context to some of the more complex ones though!)
