This song resonates so much with me, my Father abandoned me 15 years ago because of his wife who gave him an ultimatum (after years of me enduring her psychological and physical abuse) and he chose her. Me "not being good enough" mindset began early when he wasn't subtle about his preference for son's and the fact I had epilepsy caused him great shame (his shame, not mine). I now have BPD and have finally understood why and currently attending DBT so I can let go of the past concerning him once and for all. He is not welcome in my life ever again since I'm undoing my damages, he made the self serving choice with no remorse or reconciliation attempt.
