Monkees, The - How Insensitive Lyrics

How insensitive
I must have seen
When she told me that she loved me
How unmoved and cold
I must have seen
When she told me so sincerely
Why, she must have asked,
Did I just turn and stare in icy silence?

What was I to do?
What can you do
When a love affair is over?

So now she's gone away
And I'm alone
With the memory of her last look
Vague, and drawn and sad
I see it still
All the heartache in that last look
Why, she must have asked,
Did I just turn and stare in icy silence?

What was I to say?
What can you say
When a love affair is over?

Monkees, The How Insensitive Comments

That weird, yet awesome moment when you find out that the Monkees did bossa nova! =P

  2. E.... M....

I believe this is a cover of the bossa nova classic by Astrud Gilberto.  No offense to Monkees fans, although I like many of their classics, I prefer Astrud's.

+Emily Malden Yes; and Andy Williams actually has a beautiful version too.

    The composer is Tom Jobim

Not sure how many actual Monkees appear on this but it's an intriguing version. Definitely not in keeping with the required image, which I guess is why it went unreleased for so long.

Just Mike. If I remember, he went to Nashville and recorded a load of these songs by himself, around the time of "Instant Replay."

Never heard this done non-bossa before ... interesting. And country, to boot.

I have no idea why WMG blocks some of what they block, especially the lesser known songs. You'd think they'd want them out where people could hear them so it would build interest in purchasing the CDs.

YES!! I love this song and especially this version. I tried to upload it a while back and YT blocked it....ahh, the vagaries of this channel! Good Job!
