In a lane of her own .. well polished!

One of the best new artists since Stevie Wonder.  Her Archandroid album is the best thing I have heard in over 20 years.  Dance or Die, Faster, Locked Inside and Oh Maker are simply perfection.  Throw in Cold War and Tightrope and you have a masterpiece.  I think that album will slowly become recognized for what it is, a masterwork.

Coming from the 80s, growing into the nineties and reaching back to the 70s, I thought the new millenium had no real artists in store. I didn't expect Janelle Monàe to happen.

Along the lines of her being different, creative and great, absolutely! However, she has gained a larger fan base within the years time. And her creativity and eccentric (but still quite enjoyable) sound has not faltered and I'm happy because of that. Even with her song "Yoga" which has more of a "popular industry sound" to me it's still different (especially if you take a good listen to the lyrics). Either way, I'm still a huge fan!! :)
