Modest Mouse - Perpetual Motion Machine Lyrics
Daniel read the paragraph
He read until the words ran out
It said we're all in trouble now
Poison in the juice carafe
Oh no, we're in some trouble now
Everyone wants to be a perpetual motion machine
We all try harder as the days run out
We all try harder as the days run out
We all try harder as the days run out
With your teeth to your lips
And your hair to the ground
Well, you hear the fish and they're making this sound
And feel what it's like to fall down"
Patrick ran the race
Yeah, he ran until the tire ran out
Oh no, i'm in some trouble now
Tried to kick it over
I tried until the juice ran out
Oh no, we want more trouble now
With your teeth to your lips
And your hair to the ground
Well, you hear the fish and they're making this sound
Saying, "we just want to go on walking around
And feel what it's like to fall down"
I saw
Everyone wants to be a perpetual motion machine
We all try harder as the days run out
We all try harder as the days run out
We all try harder as the days run out

Perpetual Motion Machine
Single From 2009.
Never try anything. I just do it. *Hat tip Rob Zombie*
Does this chorus appear in any other song?
Scotty B. I don't think the words are, timing sounds familiar. It's been a while since I've listened to all their discography I must admit.
I figured it out. They use the lyrics in the outro of Trailer Trash when they play it live. Totally different music, but same lyrics. I suggest you give it a listen, it's really good.
He just feels like home.
yes, he does indeed. ♡
One of my favorite songs of all time, perhaps my favorite of this band, although for fuck's sake, how can you choose just one song from over twenty years of art?
Again proving that this band, in most regards, is about rhythm and feeling and not logic. Which is exactly what a band should be.
@Tyler James Newton this band is holden caulfield and youu know it phony
Issac Brock really upd it on the metaphors in these last two albums (remember, this is an EP of B-sides from Good News and We Were Dead) and if anything, Modest Mouse's lyrics have become more clever, and their arrangements more complex over the years. MM has never written the same song twice and all of their albums are vastly different then each other. I will always love the earlier days of MM, they evoke a feeling no other songs can do for me. These songs have a different feeling, that's OK
Can you imagine MM with rap in it? Good God no.........but you know, them being Modest Mouse, they'll make it work. Isaac's a genius after all.
Michael Wisner I would love to put my words to any music, not exactly rap but not singing either.
Isn't Big Boi from like Speakerboxx? Hes probably the best possible rapper you could hope for them to work with.
Perfect insomnia song
thank you
SHUT UP JORDAN
I hear Wiz Khalifa is feat.ing in Mouse's new album
MM is good, was good, and always will be good. Just because they don't only make music about drugs and atheism anymore doesn't mean they are any less of a good band. I can listen to Lonesome Crowded West just as easily as Good News or We Were Dead. Because all Modest Mouse is fucking fantastic.
Leon Green To be fair, they do still make songs about those things
Well, I'm surely relieved now...
And they're harmless omnivores!
They can't sting you.
Really? Honestly when I listen to a lot of their old stuff I hear a lot of hip-hop influence.
I'm not really sure if I should feel relieved or even more terrified with this information... Thanks, I guess...
The scorpionfly is actually not a scorpion. The males just have enlarged genitals that look similar to a scorpion's tail.
Yeah, but I hope that Big Bio just sticks to helping them produce, because if their is any rap on the album, I will be pissed
I hear ya. It certainly is much different than it used to be with the energetic punk-ish roots of mm. Either way, I'm still stoked for the new album!! :D
I keep trying, but new modest mouse just doesn't do it for me...it just makes me want to listen to the golden years of mm
I'm pretty sure he screams "that's all", not "I saw" :0
@xjustin523x Try scorpions with wings (the really terrifying part is that they are real)...
if i cross my eyes while looking at the picture it says modemodestmomouse
does anyone else realize just how terrifying a flying spider actually is?
@twittlebug1 I know, I had a metaphor project in my school and I used "Custom Concern" for my multi-media project.
