Just think of some of the musical giants Joni has played with. Metheny, Jaco, etc. Have you ever seen her artwork. Here is a woman that did more in 10 years than most people do in a lifetime. My favorite female singer of all time!!!!

Ya know, I think she’s just an Artist through & through.. sooo talented in many forms of expression. I don’t think she was so bad. She was very sympathetic to vets returning from the Vietnam War. I read she even performed at Ft. Bragg. And unlike most libs she seems to think about her beliefs from time to time.

Why is it that everything that Joni Mitchell does is always so 'classy' in the true sense of the word. 'There is a dignity about her and maybe that is just one of the reasons she has touched and touches so many people lives as indeed she has touched mine 'from time to time'. She is the real thing in regard to a singer song writer, so honest and that honesty comes through so strong in her music/writing so rare in the music biz and celebrity culture we now live in.

Everything she does has integrity.

bgfd1 So right. I saw a vid of one of her Rare interviews & it was long & Great. I’d never really heard her speaking voice but for a few comments at concerts... Yes, Very Canadian. The guy’s questions were bold & straightforward & nothing was off the table for her. Every answer spoke her Truth, straight up; she’s mostly not written for the industry & pop charts, (other than the few that played constantly on the radio back in the day) & has never pandered to the collective’s ‘fit in with the social programming’ behaviors. She’s stayed true to who she is...
As for her politics (referenced in another comment), I always felt she was one of the brave ones who spoke reality that’s always been covered by most with lots of smoke & fantasy. (Ref several songs on “Hissing” that spoke to the women’s roles as happy dutiful housewives & mothers w/ little to no support for development of their own passions: “Harry’s House” & “Edith”).

The irony for me is that despite listening to her lyrics closely throughout HS & college, I was still duped into that same role (while working FT as a nurse, but never got the chance to pursue my career dream!). I recently just realized that most of “Hissing” spoke to the fact that our whole society was created to be a ‘Stepford reality’ as we’ve spent decades ingesting sooo many toxins via food, pharmaceuticals/vaccines, the air we breathe & on & on, until we’re Finally getting some truth through the brave whistle blowers.
