Mick Jagger - Handsome Molly Lyrics
I wish I was in London
Or some other seaport town
I'll set myself on a steamship
And I'll sail the ocean round
While sailing around the sea
I dream of Handsome Molly
Wherever she might be
Her hair's as black as raven
Her eyes as black as coal
Her teeth are like lilies
That in the morning glow
Oh, don't you remember, Molly
You said that if you married
Well I would be your man
And now you've gone and left me
Go on with who you please
My poor heart is aching here
Lying at your ease
And I go down to the river
When everyone's asleep
I dream of handsome Molly
And sit right down and weep
I wish I was in London
Or some other seaport town
I'll set myself on a steamship
And I'll sail the ocean round
While sailing around the ocean
While sailing around the sea
I'd dream of Handsome Molly
Wherever she might be

Mick Jagger Handsome Molly Comments
This is exactly how the song must have sounded at its origin, One plaintive voice and a lone fiddle.
Beautiful ty Jagger the world's greatest
Love it!!
Mick's a bluesy rocker/screamer. I appreciate his take on a roots tune from his native England that's been on recording since at least the 20s.
The Stones have always had a bit of country in their music. Sounds nice and authentic with Micks own unique touches.
Country? Folk
closer to the original than most versions on YT
this is so weird I didn't know what to make of it - if your into real blues then its reasonable to check out the music of the poor white folks of the southern USA cos old time country and rural blues have a shared history, so I guess that's what Jagger did -.the fiddlers very good though
My favorite version! !!!!!!
That's fucking atrocious.
+Beggar Wall So are you.
Shut the fuck up, you lot. This was alright!
The worst version of this that I've ever heard!
Fuck Mick ! Stick with rock 'cuz you suck !
Such a deep and intelligent critique.
@southwriter To be fair, Jagger's awful performance didn't merit any critique that could be described as deep or intelligent
This is a great song. Very traditional Irish.
Stick with rock Mick !
