Meat Loaf - Speaking In Tongues Lyrics
For the mighty oak to grow
You got to plant a tiny seed
Words are all you know
Body language is what you need
Your fragrance fill my lungs
It's time we started speaking in tongues
Speaking in tongues
It's that time to start a fire
And I know we'll make it good
We're overflowing with desire
You got the spark — I've got wood
We got to let our voices soar
It's time we started speaking in tongues
Speaking in tongues
There are things we learn by knowledge
There are things we learn by heart
There are things we learn at the end of life
There are things we learn at the start
There are things we learn by science
There are things we learn by art
There are things we learn from the fires of love
An erection of the heart
An erection of the heart
There are things we learn by knowledge
There are things we learn by heart
There are things we learn at the end of life
There are things we learn at the start
There are things we learn by science
There are things we learn by art
There are things we learn from the fires of love
An erection of the heart
An erection of the heart
For the mighty oak to grow
You got to plant a tiny seed
Words are all you know
Body language is what you need
We got to let our voices soar
More than any song we've ever sung
It's time we started speaking in tongues
Speaking in tongues
Speaking in tongues

Meat Loaf Speaking In Tongues Comments
Ja natuurlijk, je kan maar best duidelijkheid scheppen.
m. a. w. Niet in tongen spreken.
Met de titelsong weet ik al genoeg, hoef niet eens te beluisteren.
Goed gezongen al bij al.
Liefs van Josiane
Meatloaf still has it...Thank you sir for always speaking to folks soul and great music.
This song gives me an erection of the ears!
First time I have heard this. Awesome well done Jim Steinman and Meat
one of Jims best! Thanks Jim and Meat for all you have done!
This song is in Tanz Der Vampire. I believe as "A Beautiful Daughter is a Blessing"
Meatloaf and Steinmans songs have always had sexual innuendoes. I’m guessing the millenniums Have never listened to bat one and two
I like her voice but mr meats isn't right... this is too different for him. I've been a fan since I was in my mothers womb and I don't like it :/
Jejejejeje NO
...Brilliant... Absolutely Brilliant...
Beautifully put together, Jim Steinman really does Write THE Amazing Lyrics!
and Stacy Michelle Has such a Beautiful and powerful Voice.
And Meat you "never let us your Fans down"... Ever!
Just Close your eyes - listen to this Track "Speaking in Tongues" and you can
Feel the words that came from your lips. (Such a Powerful Song) and So Moving!!
Whenever you Perform Live or at the Studio over all these years,
We can "Feel" and "Believe" every word you Sing with your
"Heart", "Body", "Mind" and "Soul" in the Music you Present with so much "Passion".
All you have to do is "listen" again to the Lyrics on this Song and how Meat you present with so much Emotion - You Brings the Lyrics Alive from Deep within..
Thank You Meat so Much for letting "Me" and the World enjoy you for all these years
"We got to let our voices soar - More than any song we've ever sung, - It's time that we start speaking in tongues.."
...Brilliant...
Beautiful Song - Love it!
The text in the video is slightly off- Meat sings "It's that time to start a fire." The video omits "that". It's an easy mistake but a mistake nonetheless. When he says 'that time', I think we know instinctively which time and what kind of fire is being started.
This album was always gonna be special.Thank you Mr meatloaf. Please give us some more. We need you to be around for a while yet.God bless you big man.
it's about my son kid
Great stuff yet again. God bless you meat.
Dude you are everywhere. It is hard to find a Meat Loaf song you haven't commented.
Beautiful, Jim has done it again. A power ballad with the Steinman characteristics that we all know and love. Meat's delivery gives the song the passion it needs. This is, without a doubt, a musical masterpiece.
The boner line, definitely there hahaha.
You got the spark, I got wood.
Erection of the heart.
That's twice.
Cheeky bastard Jimmy is :)
it wouldn't be a Meat + Steinman album without at least one sexual innuendo, lmao
Love everything that Meat & Jim do together..
Beautiful and lusty song written by the one and only Jim Steinman, the finest lyricist/composer in the world and I love how meat sings it....him and Jim together again = pure magic !!
"You took the words right out of my mouth"..;)
when i heard first the BRAVER THAN WE ARE ALBUM i was a bit clueless if I liked it or not. Actually I did not much for me at the very beginning. But something kept me listen to it again and again and suddenly I felt that the album started to grow on me. maybe after 3 - 4 days i realized that this is a very pleasent album which i highly enjoy and appreciate. certainly different from the other big steinman/meat loaf albums but a real delight. what's still missing now is a steinman/tyler album to make the story complete :-)
It is definitly the second best album after Bat 1 for me.
This song is... WAY TOO GOOD! FAV on the BTWA album! Just... "wow..."
amazing 😊
that is your new cd 2016 braver than they are
"Objects in the rear view mirror..." and "Cheating in your dreams" are the best and my all time favourite songs of all artist's. This song grows on me the more i listen to it... like "Im gonna love her for both of us", "You took the words right out of my mouth" did. Nothing compares to meatloaf and Jim Steinman combination. absolutely amazing.
Lewis Walker I'm Gonna Love Her For Both Of Us is a pretty deep cut, but I like it. The structure seems a bit simpler here though. I'd liken it to a leaner Two Out of Three Ain't Bad.… or maybe Lost Boys and Golden Girls, perhaps that's it.
"gotta to plant a tiny seed"
This is awful. I've been a huge fan for well over 20yrs but this is crap
Carl Haydock you obviously don't really know Steinman... "Can't you see my faded Levi's bursting apart...." Classic boner line from For Crying Out Loud. He's been doing it forever, it's just more obvious here. It's different than the classic stuff is all, and if you don't appreciate it you're not a true fan of Meat and Jim.
You serious... this is "sex dripped" lyrics from Jim at its best... do ya get it? Jim is funny as hell, as that's a big part of WHY I love his songs... he's a master a word play... just too good...
It's a shame you don't like it. I reckon it's a worthy addition to the song book.
Andrew I totally agree with you I love this jim and meat are so awesome together
Jim is a one in a billion... How he can write songs! Most songs from the new album are very good, and 'Going all the way is just the start' is a masterpiece, again. To me, that song might be on the same level as let's say 'Objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are' (what a title again haha) and 'Rock and roll dreams come through', from the album Bad out of Hell 2.
Yeah, 'Going all the way is just the start' remembers me of that album, which is my favorite album of all time. But the level of 'Anything for Love' will never be reached again for me, that one is too special and is my personal favorite song.
Jim Steinman, Meat, I love you!
same here!! Going All The Way is a clear standout of the new album
I prefer this song to Braver than We Are, but okay, it's just a matter of personal preference. Both have their charms, and the album's well realised. Meat says that the only thing he'll do now is a xmas album, so it looks like it's over.… very well, for what a saga it has been! I just want to catch the Bat Out of Hell musical, and that will be fine for me.
GoreHub Inc. Wow
Great to hear Meaty with Jim again :)
An erection of the Heart. Really?.. :))
Well, he does have wood... lol
