I like the sound of shit BUT NOT the smell
Obviously there's something wrong with your hardware, because I'm using cheap headphones (in case you're not familiar with the term it means I paid very little money for them) and it sounds like CD quality. In other words: pretty good.
And what kind of headphones might that be? I use a Tonepost UX2 external sound card and Shure SRH940 headphones (proper equipment in case you're not familiar with these products) and I say this sound like a sub 128kbps mp3. In other words: like shit.
