My dad sang me this song at night, when he passed all I could think of was “I thought you could stay...” and each line reverberates in me through this voice, and sends me into a calm state of mind. I like to sometimes think that he is on all those miles of roads, trying to find one that takes him home, but falls into holes.

I remember listening to this song on repeat/loop in fall of 2009 thru my first existential crisis. Can't say why, but this song and "Life in Technicolor", by coldplay were the two songs that got me out of that bad episode in my life. Thank you Matt & Kim.
Yes, this song really helps put things into perspective, it personally made me greive when I tried to act like my father’s passing was a minor problem. He would have wanted me to smile.
