For most of my life, I've listened to the music of Johnny Mathis and wondered, "Who am I so in love with that this voice, this music stirs me so?" It's fully clear to me now. I have been in love with Mr. Mathis all these years. How lucky I am that my life paralleled his singing career. He has sung the sound track of my life and I am so rich for it.

Thank you. I hope you have had the chance to see him live. I did last December and it's as if he never aged. Not vocally anyway.

In the past year or so, he did an NPR show with Michael Feinstein. He is the dearest man. He sang live and, I agree, his voice is ageless. I just feel privileged with each song I hear him sing. The richness of who he is envelopes each note, each lyric.

I've heard this song sung by many people but few could reach all the notes and sing it with such feeling and beauty as Johnny Mathis, whose voice is amazing.

Johnny Mathis does this old classic Harry Nilsson song wonderfully. I am not surprised.

Great cover Johnny -- as always you have the instincts for great songs how to do reinvent and sustain them.

I never had heard this Nilsson song by Mathis, who does such a great job on ballads. He really does this song justice. Thank you; you have a new follower!

Thanks for posting this. I suspected Johnny Mathis was influenced by Nilsson and decided to Google their names and this came up.

That's possible, but in my experience based on Johnny's tone and precision there is a good chance he found the song "Remember" because he was a Nilsson fan

That may be quite possible. Nilsson was influenced by Gershwin, and may be the link. I can't say for sure. I do like both recordings however.

I remembered Robert!! This song was featured in a poignant scene of "You've Got Mail." It played when Meg Ryan was reminiscing and while dancing with her mother as a child on the last day she would close the door on the bookstore they both ran. It's a lovely song. Thanks for the video. Now I can access it regularly.
