Marty Robbins - September In The Rain Lyrics

The leaves of brown came tumbling down
Remember that September in the rain
The sun went out just like a dying ember
That September in the rain
To every word of love I heard you whisper
The raindrops seemed to sing a sweet refrain
Though spring is here to me it's still September
That September in the rain

The leaves of brown came tumbling down
Remember that September in the rain
The sun went out just like a dying ember
That September in the rain
To every word of love I heard you whisper
The raindrops seemed to sing a sweet refrain
Though spring is here to me it's still September
That September in the rain

Marty Robbins September In The Rain Comments

I guess I'll give my two cents, I've probably listened to this 120 times in the past month since I've found it, I feel Marty isn't brought up in enough conversations about male vocalist, maybe due to his prominence as a country artist. Whatever it may be, I think he is still underrated when his popularity is compared to his vocal talent. Plus the pianist is killing it the whole track with their comping, great track overall, the album too

    WOW
Wonderful version of a great oldie by the incredible Marty Robbins.
In my opinion Marty had one of the greatest male voices of all time.

I've never before heard Marty sing like this. Is there any more of it??? If so, please uploaded! Thanks for this tune. An eye-opener!

Marty had a great album called "Marty After Midnight" that included this and several more jazz standards. It's fantastic and the closest to straight jazz that any country singer ever came.
