Ehh... it's not a bad song, it just sounds kind of meh. Like a filler track from Antichrist Superstar.

The music is damn near a carbon copy from I Put a Spell on you on Portrait of an American Family.

I feel like this album and Heaven Upside down are connected by this song. Firstly there's the repetition of "Love you damaged" between this and Threats of Romance. Both Albums titles deal with opposites and inversions. Could it be that the character of this album fell so far out of hell they wound up hanging upside down in heaven. I know it's probably not but that's what I like about Manson his music has its own mythos.

Tonally the album is off and the production is spotty as fuck. Still, a few very decent songs...

Just about every single Manson song is woven on the same tapestry. Example: birds of hell has a slowed down beat to beautiful people, it also has a similar sound to this song. This song is connected to every other song on this album, but also features similar visuals to threats of romance, off of heaven upside down. "I love you damaged, need human wreckage" vs "I love you damaged, but I need somethin left. Something for me, something for me to wreck" etc. that's part of his genius.

I actually compared them last night. The scream at the beginning of BOHA was sampled from the beginning of this song. They're the same scream.
