Manilow, Barry - It's A Miracle Lyrics

You wouldn't believe where I've been
The city and towns I been in
From Boston to Denver
And every town in between

The people they all look the same
Only the names have been changed
But now that I'm home again
I'll tell you what I believe

It's a miracle
A true blue spectacle
A miracle come true
We're together ,baby-I was goin' crazy
'till the miracle
Came through
Now you here, and my arms are around you
And baby, there'll be
Dancin in the streets
For the miracle
A true blue spectacle
The miracle is you

I never knew you look so good
I never knew any one could
I must have been crazy
To ever had gone away

I almost for got what it's like
Holdin' you near me at night
But now that I'm home again
You know that I'm home to stay

Cause' its a miracle
A true blue spectacle
A miracle come true
We're together baby-I was goin crazy
'till the miracle came through
Now you here and I'm feelin so good
And baby there'll be
Dancin in the streets
For the miracle
A true blue spectacle
The miracle is you

Now you here and my arm's are around you
And baby the'll be dancing in the street
There's going to be dancing in the street
Dancing in the street

Dancin, dancin, dancin, dancin
Dancin in the street
Dancin, dancin, dancin in the street
For the miracle
A true blue spectacle
The miracle is you
Hey the miracle is you
The miracle is you

I PLAYED THIS SONG DAYBREAK, AMERICAN BANDSTAND WHICH BY THE WAY, WAS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER FROM MY HIGH SCHOOL WEST CATHOLIC GIRL'S HIGH SCHOOL ON 45TH & CHESTNUT STREET, LOVE THE LATE GREAT DICK CLARK TOO, MANDY AND ALL OF THE REST OF HIS WONDERFUL SONGS HE MADE. I JUST HAVE A BARRY MANILOW DAY AND LISTEN ONLY TO HIS MUSIC. I LOVE WHEN HE YELLS OUT ONE MORE TIME ON DAYBREAK. HE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE, FAVORITE SINGERS. THANK YOU GOD THAT HE IS STILL WITH US!!!!

This record is catchy as hell, but it's also the cheesiest record he ever released. When I first heard it, not knowing anything about his background, my first thought was that it sounded like a fabric softener commercial (No wrinkles right out of the dryer? .. It's a Miracle!!). Knowing that he wrote commercial jingles for a living for a number of years (most famously, the "You deserve a break today." McDonald's theme), it seems plausible that this might have originally been written a some kind of jingle.

  5. l.... ....

    Coco Peru brought me here.

  6. p.... ....

    Yup, am still listening to this great song to this day (August 19, 2019) ... cause it's a miracle ... I'm a true-blue Manilow fan-atic!! =)

  7. D.... B....

this song went to #12 on the pop charts in 1975!!!

  8. p.... ....

This guy had the mad skills

  9. M.... C....

Been listening to Manilows' Its A Miracle since elementary school.. Its stil a jam

  10. N.... M....

this was such a Big Hit!

  11. G.... D....

I had been waiting my whole life to see Barry and finally got to four years ago in SLC. This was his opener, he came out and yelled, “you wouldn’t BELIEVE where I’ve been!”

  12. K.... P....

Kathy Olliges..... where are you now??? In 1975, when I was in love with you, I went to see you dance in a play that had this song. Niles West High School. You were in the “thespians”. How I adored you..... We were sophomores. Respond to this & I’ll drop whatever I’m involved in at the moment & marry you TODAY........ Guess who?

  13. h.... ....

This song has been stuck in my head for a few days, not that that's a bad thing at all!

  14. U.... A....

    God bless Barry Manilow!!!

  15. J.... D....

This was the theme song for the Toledo goaldiggers hockey club in the mid 70's...what a great time

  16. p.... ....

I remember a time, not all that long ago (but it's practically 30 years now??!) back in the late 80s/early 90s, it was fashionable to mock 70s 'cheese ' like this guy...once the name Barry Manilow was synonymous with 'uncool ' ... thankfully we are past that! WAY past that...compared with the nasty dreck of this past decade, a song like this sounds so edgy , and yet classy at the same time! no autotune, no need for 'clean' and 'explict ' versions...we never knew back then how much worse things would become!

  17. J.... D....

Back when 8-tracks were still in use I played the hell out of this on several road trips. I loved this album and it was great sing-along material. Am I dating myself ?? LOL ... these songs are still good to this day. Glad to find this here !!

  18. F.... R....

this is my favorite Manilow tune from the seventies

  19. R.... R....

I never knew you looked so good I never knew anyone could......WOW!!! What a lovely song ☆☆☆☆☆

    R.... R....

    Awesomeeee!!!

  20. C.... P....

Love me some Barry Manilow and I love this song and yes, I am a black man.

    C.... P....

Music is or should be colorless. Back in the 70s I listened to Led Zeppelin, Earth Wind and Fire, Commodores, The Who, Brick, Barry Manilow etc and so did most of the people I knew of both races. If it's good.... it's good. Shouldn't matter who sings it.

    C.... P....

    You go, Christopher!

    C.... P....

    Who cares?

  21. L.... H....

    I don’t know Morris Code......sooo.......

  22. J.... N....

I have a classmate miracle miracle

  23. J.... H....

    A remarkable talent.

  24. d.... g....

Daddy's home 2 brought me here.

    d.... g....

When this song came out in 1975, I used to walk over the Hultmann aqueduct, and through a grove of pine trees that they planted in the 1930s when they built it, on my way to school. Some of the outdoor scenes of "Daddy's home." were filmed in the same pine grove, in Framingham, MA, while some of the other ones were filmed in Concord, MA. While walking to school, I'd never have imagined that a movie would ever be shot there.

  25. N.... ....

Not a fan of this album version. The single version has more soul, if you know what I mean.

  26. P.... R....

So funny so vikes so happy

  27. c.... ....

    My friend said Mary Banilow.

    c.... ....

    😅😄😅😄😅😄😅😄

  28. a.... a....

Esta buena canción la compuso BARRY MANILOW y la canto y la publico en el año 1974

  29. M.... C....

At our teenage high school parties we'd listen to Barry Manilow

  30. D.... M....

Yesterday I found out first thing in morning that my grandaughter was in the ER; then found out that I have a tumor that needs surgery. Right after that I had to take a nieghbors dog - my friend too - down to be euthanized. Oh yes, it get's better: next was the news that the wife of a friend had died followed by the death of another friends mother. Pretty friggin bummed out so today I just put some Barry - and Traveling Wilburys - on. Good tunes work good wonders!

  31. P.... T....

I'd listen to Manilow all day! And nite.

  32. B.... .....

    thats near motown to me

  33. L.... C....

I Have been a die hard Barry Manilow fan before he was on "Sound Stage" at WTTW IN Chicago in 1974. Have seen him 27 times in concert. I was 14 now am 57 and play him each and everyday.

  34. R.... R....

remember finishing work around 6:00 p.m. and enjoying this gem on my sony walkman while joyfully walking thru times square, such beautiful memories 😊

  35. C.... ....

This song makes me think of when I was a kid back in the mid-1970s, and when I'd watch American Bandstand on television, it opened up with Barry Manilow singing the show's opening theme.

  36. M.... G....

    My favorite Manilow song

  37. n.... ....

All the other fourteen year olds are listening to whoever the fuck while I'm off in the corner head banging to this

    n.... ....

Eve Miller Oh. My. God. I just mentioned people should head bang to this one three months ago! Did I somehow inspire the world thru what's it called, osmosis? Go ahead and thrash to Manilow! Maybe have a video streamed to you tube showing how it's done? You can start something too! If you're 14 like you say, you have a power I can never have, and I'm 48. But I still believe in kids and what they can do. And FTR (for the record) I'm not weird or perverted. I have nephews of my own. All I'm saying is: start a trend. Make a video. Have the world bang their heads. Tell em it's Manilow time! I hope this helps you, and please keep resisting the others who would rather jam to lesser artists from today's "music". You know what music is. This puts you ahead of anyone else your age or mine! Lots of luck to you!

  38. T.... R....

Takes me back to the year I married my girl friend. And now going on 42 years married we still love this song and others Barry has performed.

  39. R.... ....

Barry just came out of the closet. Who knew....? But in the end nobody fucking cares such a great talent.

  40. m.... ....

This is a better disco song than Copacabana.

    s.... c....

skirk catalano definitely his best song my opinion

  42. C.... C....

    jùst love this music

  43. v.... ....

He once said on the Merv Griffen show he was disappointed there was little money in recording songs. He received a rude awakening in the world of recording. Musicians and bands make their big money in touring live, but they still need the recordings to make them famous.

  44. R.... M....

Released in spring 1975 as the second single from "BM2". The 45 was speeded up and additional guitar and reverb were added to brighten it. It's OK, but I prefer this original LP track. Still have Bell 1314 and play it occasionally.

  45. G.... S....

    love this song

    G.... S....

    I do too!!!

    G.... S....

    Better than Copacabana.

  46. S.... C....

My dad listens to this when he wants to rock out. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

    S.... C....

If he hadn't, odds are you might not be here. It could have been Engelbert Humperdinck.

    S.... C....

    @RJ McAllister Yea, him too.

  64. D.... C....

The single version is better than the album version.

  65. A.... G....

Can never get enough of this song.  Whenever I hear this it makes me laugh and happy...  What's with this???

    A.... G....

Was back when the music industry didn't sell itself out to the highest money maker and instead focused on creating music that had a "Soul" to it. Corporates don't want people to be happy, they want them to be miserable zombies that do as their told. Music like this the people's only true escape. Now its all trash.

  66. n.... ....

After playing this clip it's the first time I heard the album version.  It has more of a 'live' sound than the 45 version.  The voices come through more clearly and it sounds more laid back.

  67. K.... A....

  68. C.... ....

This song came out when I was in the 5th grade, always reminds me of springtime. Saw him in concert in 1984 in Roanoke, VA. Great show!  Great song too

  69. G.... S....

I bought this song on a 45. That's how much I liked it and I wish Barry had done more stuff like it.

    G.... S....

Right on Guy! If he had only done a few more up tempo numbers like this, he would have been a bit more respected. But BM was a huge talent regardless of how you diced it up. The second verse from 1:28 on is just about perfection. Great song!

    G.... S....

@Kenneth Donnelly I totally agree with everything you said

  70. S.... H....

I'm 19 and was raised a "Fanilow" and now that I am in college and people my age are jamming to dirty songs, while I am bopping to this! BREAK THE MOLD!!!!

    S.... H....

Go head Sara Jane...Love it that young people like yourself appreciate real music. I was born very fortunate to have been a teen in the prime peak of music I believe in the 70's. You are so right...some of the filth they broadcast these days has to come directly from Satan himself. It doesn't even resemble music. I don't know what that crap is, all I know is that people like you are being cheated out of real talent by the syndicates. There is still REAL talent out there, but you won't hear from the liberal media!

    S.... H....

+SaraJane Healey lol. Nice follow up.Some people can't get out of their own way

    S.... H....

Good on you, darlin'. More to music than beats and dirty rhymes; part of the reason I retired as a DJ years ago. Maybe the miracle will be you. Good luck.

    S.... H....

SaraJane Healey You're on the right track cool girl! 👌👍👍🤗

    S.... H....

JC - Solo Artist WOW! you're awesome! those are my favorites as well! you're my kind of people,....keep on the right track, you're doing well 👌👍👍

  71. E.... O....

    GREAT SONG! from the 70's.

  72. R.... S....

I was only 12 when this song first came out !!! and I am still a fan of Barry's today !!!

  73. J.... H....

Ah, the good old days when one could sing along with the songs. Plus, Barry sings in my range. He was on fire for several years. He is still at it and also a superb producer.

  74. m.... ....

If ever there was a textbook example of the difference a mix makes in how you perceive a song, this is it. Compare this one with the 7" vinyl mix (I especially like WABCRADIO77's copy). There's *no* comparison--the LP mix sounds muffled, blunted, anemic, dead, wet cardboard; the single packs a visceral wallop (and, for once, the editing actually benefits the song). Aspiring producers, study this song well.

  75. k.... ....

I was a closet Manilow fan LOL! When your 13-14 years old, this was cosidered "sissy" music. Truth be known, probably most guys liked it, and same as me -  afraid to admit it! I still like a lot of his songs to this day, not to mention the memories of playing around with my friends out in the yard with the radio cranked up in the garage. What I wouldn't do to go back to those times. So wonderful. Sure wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then about the World. Awesome times, and I was truly blessed to have had them - THANK YOU HEAVENLY FATHER!!!!!!

    k.... ....

I like the last part of your comment: Thank you Heavenly Father

    k.... ....

+Bob Bennett me too. yes, thank you Heavenly Father - what a gift!

    k.... ....

kayakndave You and me both!!! The '70's were the best time of my life!

    k.... ....

You weren't alone! Back in the '70's, a few of my same-age friends (13-14, male and female) got dragged by their moms, aunties, grannies, etc. to a Barry Manilow show. They walked in as haters, but walked out as fans. That's some serious showmanship. Wish I could have witnessed it for myself!

  76. B.... C....

Another classic i remember hearing through the Summer 1975. It is the original although the classic electric guitar sound in it was removed which is what gives the song the powerful Rock effect with R&B Dance.

  77. K.... A....

esto es un milagro.  hay cosas mas bello que eso

  78. K.... D....

I always liked this song and it's so hard to find. Thanks for posting.

    s.... ....

    spideraxis it would be fantastic

    s.... ....

I am definitely a child of the 70's.

  82. b.... ....

This song is so funky my flower children

  83. 7.... ....

I was 4 years old when this song was on the radio, and my Mom loved it. I remember her turning it up on the AM radio in our brand-new yellow 1975 Datsun B-210 hatchback and singing along "from Boulder to Denver" instead of "Boston to Denver" because we lived in Boulder, Colorado then.

  84. 4.... E....

thanks for not putting a commercial before it...thats a miracle!

  85. S.... F....

It's the original..But altered.. music background is changed... They took some of the instruments out.. maybe to make it sound more modern?

  86. 4.... ....

Thanks for posting...I used to sing to Barry Manilow records in my bedroom, singing and dancing up a storm! This song was always one of my favorites!

  87. M.... S....

This has always been one of favorites.....the whole album is awesome:))))
