The live Cd I mentioned two weeks ago arrived today just days after I purchased it on amazon.com!

I remember when the live version of this song came out. I was like 11 or 12 since it was 1977 I believe. I have been looking for this version for many years now. Thank God for youtube! Does anyone know where I can find this live version on cd? I have the studio version already on one of his other cds.

I love Berry and just saw him live. But, w/ that being said, I must mention something. And don't get mad at me for stating what I feel is quite obvious...

When you write the intro of a song, often the most important line is the first, your thesis, just like in school when you wrote a report. It tells you what the main focus of the story is. Well, let's check out this first line...

Daybreak (the light)= Lucifer, the light of the world (according to esoteric symbology and teachings). The" spirit" in esoteric circles is always the light of Lucifer. Not kidding...

I THINK he's singing about a fresh start after some down or trying times. (He's admitted to having a drinking problem early in his career). "Daybreak" obviously the start of a new morning and the chance to get things going in the right direction 👍

You need to understand what "the light" means in esoteric circles. Take the words more literally. Like when he says to let the "spirit come in", he means it.

2. You're not delusional, but you are forcing the obviously happy song to have a bad meaning. Do you really think he's into esoteric stuff? If you praise or worship someone, you need to have it whole-hearted,  or its no praise at all. As far as this goes, I'd have to agree I do have good taste in films. I'm glad it's impossible to wear out a DVD, since I've played certain scene over and over again.
