Manilow, Barry - A Very Strange Medley Lyrics
There's barkin' at the kitchen
yellin' in the hall
ringin' at the door bell
poundin' on the wall
kids out a sight
no time to cook on this hectic day
come on,come on,come on
get a bucket of chicken
finger lickin' good
have a barrel of fun
goodbye ho-hum
say hello to your family
come on everyone
at Kuntukey Fried Chicken
have a barrel of fun
when ever you're driving
and where ever you're bound
like a good neighbor
State Farm is there
State Farm is there
State Farm is there
give your face somethin' to smile about
give your face somethin' to smile about
with stridex
doot, doo, doo
doo, doo, doo, doo,doo, doo
with stridex
I am stuck on a Band Aid
and a Band Aid's stuck on me
I am stuck on a Band Aid
and a Band Aid's stuck on me
I've got the bathroom bowl blues
I been meanin' to start cleanin' the bathroom
bowl
well, it's the lowdownest, bluest job in town
but tough green bowlene beats the bathroom
bowl blues
It's not a Cola
there's Colas by the score
so drink Doctor Pepper
the joy of ev'ry boy and girl
It's the most original soft drink ever in the
whole wide world
Doctor Pepper
Doctor Pepper
Doctor Pepper
Doctor Pepper
Join the Pepsi people
feelin' free,feelin' free
Join the Pepsi people
feelin' free,feelin' free
all across the nation
it's the Pepsi generation
here today
here to stay
feelin' free
So much life to be lived
so much reason to try
And when you feel it, You'll get
a certain feeling inside
Doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo
You deserve a break today
So get up and get away
To McDonald's
So get up and get away
To McDonald's
McDonald's
McDonald's

Manilow, Barry A Very Strange Medley Comments
I miss the good ol' days of commercials .... when they were actually fun to watch & listen too! They had their own jingles ( they weren't just using popular songs of today OR classic songs that aren't jingles and then they overplay them and you get tired of good songs that you once loved !!
THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER TIME LIKE THE 50s TO EARLY 00s AS FAR AS JINGLES GO !!
*Mc Donalds, *Burger King * Coke, *Dr.Pepper, * Oscar Mayer ( Bologna & Wieners ) *Armour Hot Dogs, * Folgers Coffee, * State Farm, * Libbys on the Label, *Rice Krispies, *Roto-Rooter, *Meow Mix, *Band-Aid, *Doublemint gum,*Big Red Gum, *Toys R Us, *Kit Kat, *Alka-Seltzer, *Rice-A-Roni, *Chili's, *Red Robbin, *Mr. Clean
Let me know what your favorite CLASSIC Jingle is, What decade it was in and if you remember the words write it down for everyone to sing along w/ you :)
2020 Love This Still Thank You Barry for over 40 yrs of Memories
All my artsy fartsy friends.
What a melody stud.
My father was Don Draper, which is to say he was a Madison Avenue ad man in the 1950s, '60s, and '70s. I understand advertising, what makes an ad good or bad. This is good stuff. I can't say if it's good musically or artistically, but as ad jingles? Top notch.
At the 5:20 mark, you have to picture the soap bubble machine in full crank while the band sings.
I love that he did Dr. Pepper *and* Pepsi! Of course, I am just a *huge* Manillow fan, so ...
Family Guy got me here 😑
Jingle writers are underappreciated geniuses. You have 20, 30 seconds max to insert this insidious ear worm into a person's head. The really good ones write jingles that stay with us FOREVERRRRrrrrrrrr. Barry Manilow was one of the best.
Shocked State Farm didn't do a Super Bowl commercial involving Barry Manilow
Oh man chicken and manilow oh how queer can we get it.Love you Manilow🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
If ever there was a performer for whom a live album was a good vehicle, it is this man.
Wow!!!! Mom sent me to this page I being an 80s kid i remember band-aid,mcdonalds & state farm does anyone know if he wrote the jingle as well
Tamaron Scott Barry was a jingle writer before he got a recording contract.
@theoldparrothead1 oh, okay thx u have an interesting name for this account......lol
I’m a big Jimmy Buffett PHan!!

I still have this album!!
❤️ Barry
40+ years
If you loved this album on vinyl, you Must get the Legacy Edition version of it; it's 2 cd's, and it has songs that were Not on the 2-LP vinyl set and not on the Cassette and Not on the first (single disc) CD pressing of it. It also has additional diaglogue, and the songs are sequenced as they were performed. I have 5 copies of it! :D
I have this album too. love this part
I'm a big metal fan. Motörhead, Megadeth, Alice In Chains, but I had this album as a kid and absolutely loved it. Played it on my stereo along with my Zeppelin, Alice Cooper. My mom would flip out. She'd scream, would you pick a damn genre?
used to have this on cassette.
I love this part!!
There used to be a video clip of the VSM that was almost this long, but it's evaporated.

Lee Gurst was the keenest drummer in the backup band for Barry Manilow in the 1970s.. He can quickly adjust to any musical style that he expected to play drums from, so from the constant rhythm changes and groove changes in "V.S.M.", I say he was really spot-on.
I love this part of this concert. I used to giggle when I was a really young tiny girl of about 6 to 7 years old. I'd say Mama play this again. lol
I was 12 when this album came out. VSM was my favorite on the whole album.
My mom had this live album......I always loved VSM.....but the whole album is GREAT! I have known it my whole life.
