Real talk

That was beautiful! Being a guy, I still struggled with eating disorders for several years! It was a horrible thing to be chained to! My conception of beauty was a lie- a fable. I damaged my body, my relationship with loved ones- I damaged my life. But even then, when I turned it over to God, He started to make something beautiful out of me & my life
I'm still learning to see me as He sees me. It is still a fight, but praise God I'm not where I used to be!

I look at beauty as a reflection of one's heart and soul. My outward view of one is based on the inner person. We are to be reflections of God, and if God looks at the heart I shall as well.

But it's NOT okay, to look the way people want you to look.

You mean a lot of people judge by the outer appearence. Not everybody. I don't. I get to know the person first before I decide I don't like them. There's this girl, who wore a lot of makeup. And I HATE makeup. But guess what, that girl, is now one of my best friends. What you wear, and how you look, doesn't make you who you are. Who cares what other people think? Just as long as you have true friends, you're okay. Just as long as you have God, you're okay.

I want to pour out my heart about body image because I feel this is a good place to do it because the most of us struggle with it and we all seem to be Christians 'cause we love Mandisa's music :). I'm getting really confused about what's "ideal beauty" because meanwhile there are thin and fit girls in music videos and the general of magazines I get dumped by a man for not being curvy enough! My shape is rectangle & I consider myself quite slim but great abs are missing. How should I see myself?

You are the part of the few who will not just date because they love God but do not desire the kiss, touch, and holding the hand!!! WOW! There are very few virtuouse women!!!!! Be honest with me there are few!! Not by word but by lifestyle. By the way they dress, talk, and walk!

@virtuouswoman123 Well you see I am very picky. I mean not just not the sencual stuff i mean not even kissing a girl or holding her hand or even trying to date her!!! I am just a wierdy!! Your not the first I have met two others but you have spken so boldy about it without no exsuces either!!! I believe what you do because I believe the truth. And it is indeed the truth. and im surprised that im the first one you've met like this. There are many people that i know and even those i dont know that choose to wait on God while faithfully serving Him. And God must be our everything because the emptiness we don't allow Him to fill, we will look for in someone else and end up dissapionted.

WHAT!! Man you preaching! That is exactly what I believe when it comes to relationships. I am so glad that God is opening up the eyes of His young people so that they may see the game behind dating. Like my pastor says " .. it will always leave you hurt broken and all messed up.." if you do not do it God's way!
p.s. At first she may not be what you want according to fleshy criteria, but when you get to know the inside of her... boy you will surely fall in love with her. GOD is Good!
