Mamas And The Papas, The - Snowqueen Of Texas Lyrics

Snowqueen of Texas
Left Paris in a cloud of smoke.
They say that she may be beaten,
But I know that she's not broke.
She's living in a cool green farmhouse;
If you go to Houston,
Be quiet as a mouse.

Met a man in Beirut
Having her name tattooed on his arm.
(Ooh, a Deborah forever)
Boots of Spanish leather, I never meant you any harm.
I'm on my knees, your majesty;
Snowqueen, save a cold kiss of me.
I'm on my knees your majesty.
Snowqueen of Texas
Left Paris in a cloud of smoke.
They say that she may be beaten,
But I know that she's not broke.
She's living in a cool green farmhouse;
If you go to Houston,
Be quiet as a mouse.

She's mending a fairy tale -
Reading her heart.
(Ooh, a Deborah forever)
That's a good motto
For some junkman's cart.
I'm on my knees, your majesty;
Snowqueen, save a cold kiss of me.
(I'm on my knees your majesty)
I'm on my knees your majesty.
(I'm on my knees your majesty.)
I'm on my knees your majesty.
(I'm on my knees your majesty.)
Snowqueen...
Save a cold kiss for me.

    T.... F....

    There is performance. They broke up in 1968 and this album is recorded in 1971, due to an old contract with Lou Adler.

    T.... F....

    Alas, no performance, because they broke up 3 years before recording this album.

    This album was a contractual demand from ABC Records, who had bought Dunhill, the label that the band had signed with in the mid-1960s. It was either make this album or pay ABC $250,000. None of the band members had worked with each other in three years, and Cass Elliot had started a solo career.

    Thats messed up. Atleast they made a great record.

    @Henrik Will absolutely. I think Mama Cass was ill from something during the sessions, as she is barely on the album unfortunately. Still an overlooked album!
