Mamas And The Papas, The - Meditation Mama (Transcendental Woman Travels) Lyrics

Transcendental woman travels;
Feet barely touch the ground.
Time don't mean a thing
Except that the world goes around.

Meditation woman
Rather walk than ride
Never really quite convinced
She's not supposed to fly.

Mojo daddy mystic
Wants both feet on the ground;
Meditation mama
Keeps them spinning around
For her sweet love,
Completely good for me.

Up and down the western coast
In and out of mountains
Searching her eastern ghost
And his magic fountain.

Always just a thought behind -
Never there beside her.
Mojo daddy doesn't mind;
He knows he's inside her.

Transcendental mama travels;
Feet barely touch the ground.

You know the world goes around
For her sweet love,
Complete now, good love for me

    Mick, thanks for posting. The mixing and vocals blend to form such warm melodies. Not exactly sure what the song means, I think John hit the mark with vocals and arrangement on this one...

    He sounds like Tom Rapp

    This song is like a massage you don't want to see end.

    I interviewed Michelle once for BBC Radio about 5 years ago, and she was the loveliest woman possibly ever.

    Julian, thank you for everything, including your comments. You will notice that I did my best to find different pictures of the band for the various slide shows that I put together - not an easy task as their career as a band was very short. Thank you again

    And thank you for the great video. There are so many images of the four of them that I'd never seen until now, and you blended them all so beautifully with the music. Just wonderful :)

    Julian, I did not know that... thank you for the correction and thank you for your comentary.

    Love the song and video, but just to set the record straight: This is not the only Ms&Ps song on which John Phillips did lead vocals. "Even If I Could," a cool song from their second album, also features a rare Papa John lead.

    J.... H....

    John Hyland That's Denny, I'm almost positive. His voice was def distinctive from John's more reedy tone. You might be thinking of "I Can't Wait" which is the other John lead vocal (and likely why I think the song isn't very strong). He sang lead more on the PLU album.
