OK, Pantera does do a MUCH better version of this song. However, Machine Head's version is still pretty kick ass. I like the bass line in the end of the verses as they slow it down.

Took a while for me to adjust considering that this is my favourite sabbath song but Machine Head's cover has grown on me.

It's a cover not a copy . They put some much needed energy into the song.

Myself, I love this version.  I like the original too.  It seems to have a better flow to me.  The original (thought it was meant to be this way) was a little jerky for my taste

Freaking love this band but Sabbath and especially Pantera did it so much better.

Pantera's version just sounds like Sabbath with Phil singing (which is not an improvement on Ozzy). At least Machine Head made it their own. I for one like the additional energy they put into it.

@SithCats Although Phil's voice isn't an improvement of Ozzy's voice, it's not worse than Prince of darkness's. Hole In The Sky by Pantera had Dimebag own style, a powerful bass, and a skilled drummer, for me that's enough to have not only a perfect cover but to do a great tribute to Sabbath. In my opinion, this one is very incoherent in some rythym aspects and sounds very industrial and boring. But man, it's only my opinion, yours is as good as mine!!!

Can't say I dig their version of the song, though it does sound kinda cool on its own, even if it is hard to separate it from the original lol
