Drinking and smoking cigs. were my biggest addiction. Smoked and drank whiskey for 42 years. Tried just about everything known to man to quit for 3 decades. Nothing worked. One day I smoked my last cigarette & Jesus gave me the faith of a mustard seed. Right then I bowed my head and askes Jesus to take away my addictions. He did! That was Aug. 5, 2010 & I have not wanted a smoke or a drink since.

Recently I noticed that Needle and the Spoon has some structural resemblance to the song "White Room" by Cream. But it is really only in the chord note picking downward resolution and the wah-wah solo that are similar. The rest is pure LS magic. Someone referenced below the ending words of the song ("I know I know I know") as a hallmark in user denial. LS´s production manager was pretty ingenious in using that lyric part (starting around the 3:06 mark) to fade out like a dying user, whose spirit is thereafter lamented by a wailing, sonorous guitar solo (starting around the 3:10 mark).
