Lynyrd Skynyrd - All I Can Do Is Write About It Lyrics

Well this life that I've lead has took me everywhere
There ain't no place I ain't never gone
But its kind of like the saying that you heard so many times
Well there just ain't no plae like home
Did you ever see a she-gator protect her young
Or a fish in a river swimming free
Did you ever see the beauty of the hills of Carolina
Or the sweetness of the grass in Tennessee
And Lord I can't make any changes
All I can do is write 'em in a song
I can see the concrete slowly creepin'
Lord take me and mine before that comes

Do you like to see a mountain stream a-flowin'
Do you like to see a youngun with his dog
Did you ever stop to think about, well, the air your breathin'
Well you better listen to my song
And Lord I can't make any changes
All I can do is write 'em in a song
I can see the concrete slowly creepin'
Lord take me and mine before that comes

I'm not tryin' to put down no big cities
But the things they write about us is just a bore
Well you can take a boy out of ol' Dixieland
But you'll never take ol' Dixie from a boy
And Lord I can't make any changes
All I can do is write 'em in a song
I can see the concrete slowly creepin'
Lord take me and mine before that comes
'Cause I can see the concrete slowly creepin'
Lord take me and mine before that comes

Why is it that we never hear a band's greatest songs on the radio???

  13. J.... S....

Shame we have to be divided

  14. G.... G....

Love this flag cause it means a lot for me and for my folks here. My geat grandfather was a Kaiserjeger who fought during WW1 agaist the italian invaders here in north Italy, among the alps to protect his land and his culture, and while I listen to this song I can alway immagine him singing it. Long life to Welschtirol and to C.S.A., linked by a similar history, that still live inside our heart.

  15. R.... M....

Fuk anyone that has something to say bout that flag go somewhere else we probably dont like ur shiz either 😊

  16. T.... Y....

    True southern ballad.

  17. R.... F....

I hear so many echos of Florida and it’s Dying. Had a friend of mine send me a pic the other day . Her grandson , boy shot a deer. I’ve moved from my Home State of Fla., but looking at it and it’s a good buck ., but where I live we have limits. Looked up Florida’s deer laws. Good god you can shoot a buck with a 10 inch spread, shoot a swimming fawn. And take 5 deer two antlers the rest none. Wow Disney wants that state

  18. b.... b....

    twice on suggested?
    hmm.
wonder if im supposed to listen

    home is in your heart
    no matter where you are

  19. M.... P....

It's not about the flag its about the stupid people who think that everything is offence and the north doesn't care.

    M.... P....

    Thats not true my friend

  20. C.... G....

  31. A.... ....

Just a shame lincoln can not see the state of his union now, then maybe he would have left the south alone!

  32. J.... T....

My favorite L.S. song! So much truth to it. Ronnie was the best. Thank God we have his songs to listen to.

  33. K.... R....

"In my yard, you will see a Confederate flag, & it doesn’t stand for hate It lets ever one know I haven’t trusted some of my Godless so-called government leaders in the past, so do not tell me it offends you, because then you will have offended me. Why because this tells me you didn’t care what any Godless so-called government leaders have done in the past.

We have fast become a Godless country. we have a lot worst thing to worry about then making all this fuss over a battle flag, that one bad group used, along with a cross to put fear into people. The Confederate Flag never flew over a slave ship or a slave plantation, but the USA flag did fly over them. You want to take the USA flag down too? The Klan also burned crosses in front of Black, Catholic, Jew & other homes; so, do you also want to take all the crosses down too? Why then do you people want to mess with the Confederate flag.

“AT THIS TIME, I DO NOT HAVE ANY FLAGS IN MY YARD BECAUSE SOME LOWLIFE SCUM CAME DURNING THE NIGHT & TOOK ALL 3 OF THEM. IF I AM UP THE NEXT TIME THE LOWLIFE SCUM COME IN MY YARD AT NIGHT, THEM OR ME MAY NOT WALK OUT”.

    K.... R....

Kenneth R Calfo Sr Fuck u and your bitch ass flag of surrender. God is a lie.

  34. A.... L....

Those lyrics! Long live the Skynyrd. I'm a Yankee but I lived in the South for almost a decade, it will always feel home to me just as much as my northern hometown.

  35. T.... H....

  37. J.... S....

Write about the city?People are shitty in the country too.People from po-dunk came to a city to provide.Stayed country raised kids country in the city.As a city kid on the grid wanting to see God's country, its pretty, but there are shitfaces there too.

  38. O.... D....

"The things they write about us is a bore" Our Rebel Flag portrays the cross of St. Andrew who was the 1st. follower of Jesus. The Holy cross on top of our flag staff indicates that Southerners are Christian. The bird of prey on top of the stars & stripes indicates a Yankee Empire. We surrendered to that "Empire" and forgave our northern brothers and have fought in every conflict on their side since 1865. One would think they would also be forgiving and show us some respect for our fallen. Not so!

  39. D.... R....

I'm an America-loving hard-working beautiful-girl-of-my-dreams loving 20 year old 6 foot 3 220 pound American boy currently in the US Navy from the Democratic State of Massachusetts, where the foundation of the great land I live in was incorporated many years ago by men exactly like me who had the same exact type of blue collar heart as mine, the type of heart that gives someone the true spirit to practice their liberty for the price of hard labor or to fight others for it if we have to. And those men just like me fought to protect what was there's and what is mine today, this beautiful country we live in with the Hills of Carolina and the Other great things this American Life of mine has to offer (what this song explains). All because we got together and knew what was right and followed our American beliefs until we found happiness here. God Bless America and those who protect It, seriously, for what this song preaches Is the beauty of life found in America that can also be found in heaven! (deep as FUCK) PS- Rest in Peace Ronnie Van z

I've lived now in big city, country, and suburb. I guess the city is where the bad decisions are made to rewrite who and what we're about, but in terms of decimation of our land, the most complete destruction comes by way of suburban sprawl. Which is now virtually everywhere. https://youtu.be/uzDiEQq8pRU
