Alan (island) can be every lil boy that ever had an imagination, liked to dance, swim, play Nintendo, etc. . Lupe is such a Genius because he writes his songs in a way that you can really interpret them however you want and they can mean something special to you that only you really understand. So if you see Alan as a little Syrian boy that was unjustly murdered and never got to live out his dreams, or a little black boy that escaped slavery and continued to follow his dreams despite everything, then both interpretations are correct. This is why Lupe never rarely discusses the meaning behind his lyrics, he just tells people to put their thinking caps on and listen. ALAN FOREVER!

I love this album. I feel like artists like Lupe Fiasco you need to have patience with because on the first few listens, some of it can be confusing/hard to understand. One important thing I believe is that Lupe does well is make music that retains replay value (for me at least) and that really helps when I'm trying to understand what he's saying, what this or that means, etc.

Despite 24 tracks, nearly all of it I'm loving. I can't give a personal score this soon but im feeling a 8/10 so far.
