Low - Always Trying To Work It Out Lyrics
I saw you at the grocery store, I know
I should have walked over and said hello
It seemed like you were in over me
I didn't want to slow you down somehow
I figured I should let you go
Always trying to work it out (Work it out)
Always trying to work it out (Work it out)
See your male children at your knees
I thought you wouldn't like to coddle us at ease
Everybody says that the war is over
But it isn't something you forget so easy
Sorry, shit fell down, I forgot her name
Always trying to work it out (Work it out)
Always trying to work it out (Work it out)
Work it out
Always trying to work it out (Work it out)
Work it out
Always trying to work it out (Work it out)

Low Always Trying To Work It Out Comments
Otherworldly. This is one of the best songs I've heard in a while.
Amazing
Who's after Mrs Fletcher !!
This is the song I think of when i see friends at the store but i'm too busy shopping to talk so we just nod.
im obsessed with this song atm :(
Been trying to find this since yesterday with their set at Glastonbury. Amazing.
*work it ooouuutttttt*
whats the fucking point in trying to make music when someone has perfected that art?
wow....luv this
i work at that grocery store lol
It's nice they give you those masks, who knows what those shoppers are coughing out on stuff.
I saw you at that grocery store, I know
I should have walked over and said hello
@Paddy Maguire lol
Chelsea Wolfe mentioned them in a post so i told her i'd check them out...........
This is art
This is the song that will play at the end of the movie aliens make about us, when Earth tears free of its moorings and slowly plummets through space, forever.
god this hits hard....
that noise part is great
Happy Chinese New Year!
Not the best video honestly, but great song, like all the others from that album, which is a master piece, unquestionably best album of 2018!
i'm ok with the video...better than nothing. My concern would be the compression on the audio...sure hope the rest of this album isn't Imagine Dragons-esque in that sense...
oh my! Im stroking aww
Nothin special about this
Then why did you bother comment?
They hate Drumpf. That is so edgy.
Orange man bad, whitey bad. Drumpf no good
This wonderful band are new to me, can't stop listening! Great stuff.
Modern listeners ears are seriously fucked up if they think this production is good or remotely complementary to Low's typically unadorned songwriting. At first, I thought my laptop speakers were broken, then I thought Low, one of the great indie bands ever, now sounds like an amateur 'ambient' band trying who self-produced their record on their laptop in their bedroom and maxed out the kick compression to misguidedly distracting levels in a failed attempt to sound "modern" to where you can't even listen to the damn song, and used too many vocal effects to hide their shitty vocals. It's a travesty.
I'm only here for 'laptop speakers'
You are wrong.
You obviously don't get it. Not the fault of this masterpiece of an album though.
You are a troll
You listened to an album on laptop speakers and complained about its sound quality?? That's ridiculous
B. J. Burton production on this record is simply awesome!!!!
The voices in this song are fucking amazing!
track of the year! so far
What A Sound o.O
Amazing song, amazing album, Low is class as usual
Pushing boundaries... exploring new frontiers... one of the albums of 2018
I think the video is a play on 90's "progressive" culture ala "Fake Plastic Trees."
The album kinda scared me lol
I don't really understand this over-use of compression. It's just distracting.
life's a confusing riddle
The whole album is working with this sound a lot. It's a beautiful example of how you can do just about anything with sound and still make it into beautiful music. They took a sound that normally you would try to fix and they built an album with it. Have a look at Crystal Castles - Baptism. Similar attitude.
If you like it or not is really just a matter of taste. There are plenty of people who are flabbergasted and amazed at the emotions the whole soundscape communicates. The heaviness of the bass, the compression, distortion, everything. And for them, they created a whole new universe. I am listening to the album for two days now and can't get enough. Heard it 10 times now.
Having a really good audio output can help too. Get some expensive headphones, or good set of loudspeakers. I imagine hearing this from laptop speakers, or worse, phone speakers can sound like sh**.
Their album is pretty dynamic though... its an aesthetic choice that I find very interesting
2018 AOTY
Robert Redford's band is 🔥🔥🔥
And soooo hot he's on fire! 😍
OK but what's with the masks again?
Album cover
So happy I decided to look up Low again and found this. The whole new record just fantastic, really sends you into another state
Wooow they’re fu***n amazing! One of my favourite bands ever! 💕
national sawdust though!
blue scenes kinda remind me of the movie alien.
Low: the best band, the most underappreciated band, or both?
neither on both fronts...def. not underappreciated
Love this song
2018 Album of the year! Masterful.
y is the bass so heavy? honest question
could be the producer. the same producer also did "22 a million," which some people complained about hurting their ears.
Too much weed and too much experimetation with distortion and compression. I love it though
@Carl Toeski I don't think Low does any drugs. Alan said he doesn't drink and didn't use painkillers for a major injury because he didn't like the cognitive changes.

Maybe its your headphones, or your speakers and the acoustics in the place you re listening to... ran this through a spectrum analyser in a daw and its not heavier bass than most commercial music nowadays
those vibes are so unique.
This is my first Low album. Have only listened to it twice, but I love it.
I'd recommend hearing some of the more classic Low sound like on Trust or Secret Name. Anyway you've stumbled upon the BEST band so happy listening
I accidentally came across them when I misheard a bands name on the radio and bought Low's 'Things We Lost In The Fire'.
Really glad I discovered them
try long division man.
same here. the production/compression made me love and buy the album asap.
out of words. i simply love it .
Beautiful
Some poor sucker tryin to work it out...
At least some people haven't given up searching for something new,
New? they are always them
@galdext Yeah, I got my first Low album in 1994 - hell, that's 25 years!!
@galdext With the sound/production of their new album, they achieved something few bands succeed at after decades of releasing albums : add a new thing to their music (a glitch/drone vibe) without losing the quality of their songwriting
They destroyed this album with such a horrible production
Yeah, this production is fucking atrocious, if this song is representative of the album. I hate the fact that everything is trying to sound fake huge and mimicking overwhelming club bass that doesn't fit this style at all. The vocal effects suck and are distracting too. I can't appreciate the song or the lyrics with the amateur hour compression muffling the song every other second. At first I just thought something was wrong with my speakers. Longtime Low fan here, so it's not my taste that's the problem. Low doesn't need fancy "modern" production or avant-garde "edginess" - that was part of their appeal in the first place.
N. W. I don't know what sort of clubs you frequent, but this sounds nothing like club music.
You obviously just don't get it. Not the fault of this masterpiece of an album though.
Its an amazing album from a production standpoint. Great arrangements, very dynamic, a lot of depth and a unique sonic palette.
@N. W. listened on my genelecs in an acoustically treated room and the bass is not an issue... maybe you should tune your speakers and the room. Anyway, you seem a bit stuck in time...
Official album of this autumn!
2 of my favorite tracks from my favorite album this year getting music videos in the same month. I am okay with this.
On a streak!
Album Of The Year
By a mile.
Don't really get the video but love the song.
