Lou Rawls - Got To Get You Into My Life Lyrics
I was alone, I took a ride
I didn't know what I would find there
Another road where maybe I
Could find another kind of mind there
I said, oh, then I suddenly saw you
Every single day of my life?
I've got to get you into my life
I've got to get you into my life
Into my life
You didn't run, you didn't lie
You knew I wanted just to hold you
And had you gone, you knew in time
We'd meet again, for I had told you
Oh, and I want you to hear me
Every single day of my life
I've got to get you into my life
I've got to get you into my life
Into my life
What can I do? What can I be?
When I'm with you I want to stay there
If I'm true, I'll never leave
And if I do I know the way back there
I said, oh, then I suddenly see you
And, oh, did I tell you I need you
Every single day of my life?
I've got to get you into my life
I've got to get you into my life
Into my life
I've got to get you into my life
Baby, what are you gonna dp with my life?
I've got to get you
I've got to get you into my life

The horns & style sound like the band Chicago.
One of my favorite Beatles songs!
Macca wrote this song about weed. He called it mind expanding. Hehehe
Great song,Rock and roll
I was alone, I took a ride
I didn't know what I would find there
Another road where maybe I
Could see another kind of mind there
Ooh, then I suddenly see you
Ooh, did I tell you I need you
Every single day of my life
You didn't run, you didn't hide
And had you gone, you knew in time
We'd meet again for I had told you
Ooh, you were meant to be near me
Ooh, and I want you to hear me
Say we'll be together every day
Got to get you into my life
What can I do, what can I be
When I'm with you I want to stay there
If I'm true I'll never leave
And if I do I know the way there
I was alone, I took a ride

Although cast in the form of a love song, McCartney described the lyric as "an ode to pot, like someone else might write an ode to chocolate or a good claret."
50 years later you are still walking around being ignorant about pot. https://youtu.be/ajalidmsJOc
Revolver was the first album I ever bought. It’s the best of all time. Another stratosphere. Every song
Gotta love an upbeat love song about weed.
This is singlehandedly the either weirdest or just worst mix I have ever heard in my life 😅 what the hell were sound engineers and mixing engineers thinking back then hahaha i guess they saw stereo going into a completely different direction than what actually would become industry standards
Okay, so, clarification here. if it's a song addressing a lover, it could just as equally be addressing a beloved drug, am I right? lol!
...erryday
Thank fab boys
Who else is currently high listening to this
Minions
I like listening to the Beatles , Belle this is your song 🎤
I liked this song better when I was young thinking McCartney was singing about a girl. I always thought it was very passionate. When I later discovered it was for Mary Jane the mystique died. Still a great piece of music though, the instrumentation is out of this world.
I think there's definitely a double meaning, Macca's really great lyricist
Alguien dijo porros
Wasn't even released as a single in 1966. Not until 1976, when it became a top 10 hit. The very definition of timeless.
how come? isn't it on Revolver?
RIP JOHN LENNON & GEORGE HARRISON We Love You 3000 rest in peace PAUL MCCARTNEY & RINGO STARR Love You 3000 also.
The Beatles, genius never to be rematched.
The first time I heard this song I thought it was Wings. :p
When this song was a top forty hit I was sixteen in 1966.At first it sounded a little like a Motown song, sort of like the supremes.I always thought of the chart arrangement as Motown inspired. The words may be about weed, but to a sixteen year old kid at that time It sounded like a clever tribute to the girl groups that the bealles covered in their early days. Please mr, postman.and songs like that. This album was a dazzling display of their versatility and also an introduction to sgt peppers.A lot of their early fans peeled away from them when this album came out.I had a cousin, about 16,who just didn't like the new beatles especially Eleanor Rigby. It was too far from i want to hold your hand. They lost fans but gained new ones.,different fans who liked their new music.
It wasnt released as a single?...are you American?
@David Hargreaves yes
Eleanor Rigby, which was a top forty hit in America meant it was also a single. It was all over the radioThe Beatles were huge in Philadelphia.Watch the beatles in Philadelphia in 64 0n youtube. The song itself was controversial.I thought it was about urban alienation and the loss of god.It was viewed that way in America at that time.
I'm 53, U know how they say the proof is in the pudding? This tune is so memorable and imprinted in my subconscious that as a youth I thought this song was 5-6 minutes long. When I hear it I'm transported back to 4-7 years old. My parents did not own a Beatles record I'm talking solely radio!
George Martin is a genius underrated in my view
Earth Wind and Fire did it better
What a masterpiece, maybe one of my favorite by them
Paul is a genius.

A genius called Paul in the greatest band of the wold !
Such a beautiful song for the girlfriend of Paul : Drugs
JANEASHER, not Mary Jane x
George Martin's arrangement just sets this off so perfectly as it does in 'Eleanor Rigby'. The Fab Four with George Martin in the control room and doing the transcriptions and directing their fantastic talents were together the greatest popular musical act of all-time in my view.
This is the album where Paul start's taking over. John's contribution is limited. Although on the next album Sgt Peppers, the best song on there is John's A Day in The Life.
Love this 😍
Talk about an "UP" song !!! So thankful I got to see them live, Aug. 15 1966, the week after Revolver was released, their 10th to last concert ever. Sadly, they never performed "Got to Get You Into My Life" or any songs from Revolver live because the technology to reproduce those studio sounds was non-existent then.
Another underrated Beatles song. And I’m not just saying that for likes. I really like this song, even if it is about marijuana.
Slambo TV cannabis came from the stars and the smoke you exhale carries thoughts and prayers to heaven 420 seats for Elders ,rainbow room
theres nothing wrong with weed
Public announcement:
I regret using the word “underrated” in my comment
The song wich starts side B of Revolver, ( bah, Revolver is a Double A record, no??)
like Back in the USSR starts The White Album, strong!! Loudy!!! Wonderful Paul Music!!
Sounds like wings
Got to get that weed into my life.
Musically the most advanced song of the record. Of course by Paul. And by the way: The groove isn´t as easy to play as it may seem.
The best band EVER!!!!!!!
1:03 Ecstatic statement
revolver allora non l avevo capito ma era avanti 5o anni pazzesco 💞.
This song makes my day.
They need to do a proper remix of this and bring out those f****** drums. Peace and love.
I just found out this song was about marijuana.
Listened to this album constantly when it came out... This was one of my favorite songs on it... So upbeat
Ok, so I just found out this songs about weed... XD
A US top 10 hit in the Bicentennial summer.
Loved it when rock & roll had horns & hammond B3 organs
Soul music!!!!!!
MINIONS?
Another drug song, this time to pot.
🌳🌿🍃💨💨💨💨💨💨💨
1970:this music is incredble!
2002:this music is incredble!
3678:this music is incredble!
This song is about pot.
Thanks Bob Dylan!
Getting ready for your first date to this song really hits different.
This like the Mona Lisa but a song
No, it's more than that. It's like Brian of Nazareth's gave us his sandal for free.
I'm Guessing 1966 The Beatles Went Psychedelic?
My favorite pop/rock album of all time 😊
Minions (2015)
this re mix misses something, sure they was more than a bass and brass, its not good they posted remixes and all the old mixes seem to be vanishing fast
This song is about marijuana. For real. That's who he's got to get into his life. The green.
Hemp hearts are a complete source of protein too, so it even fits that way also.
That brass clings to every bone in your body! Absolutely glorious.
🍅🍋🍸🍸😁😁👍
McCartney is one heck of a bass player, outstanding bass lines!! 👍
DROP THE MIC TIME🎤🎷🎺🎹🎸📻🎶🎶🎵got 2 get u in2 my LIFE ooo say we'll b 2GETHER EVERYDAY
C est l album des Beatles que je préfère
I think this is the prototype for later Wings songs
Minions! Kkkkk
dont listen to this with BROKEN HEADPHONES!!!....arghhhhhh!!!!........
This is the og version
This is the sort of stomping swing that virtually only "Ringo" can do.
Note to Giles on the eventual remix: turn up the drums.
vormax2007 Listen to the mono version, it’s the way the Beatles intended it. It packs a 100% better punch, plus it’s longer and features a more freaked out ending!
The drums could still be louder thouh, so agreed
Is there anywhere to hear the mono mixes on the web?
@Jonathan Ryberg the drums in mono doesnt sound that good, i prefer stereo drums
one of the most underrated songs
Revolver and white album...favs
Minions
This is the most un- Beatles song to me because of all the brass
i love u beatles
My favorite Beatles song is Last Train To Clarksville.
Umm.... that song is by "The Monkees", bruh (strictly second-rate band, compared to The Fab Four)

I can't stand that mastering style where one instrument is in one ear and a different instrument is in the other ear.
I had the pleasure of covering this song in a band called The Paradise Rangers in 1979.
- Lead Vocals & Bass: Paul McCartney
- Guitar: George Harrison
- Drums & Tambourine: Ringo Starr
- Organ: George Martin
- Trumpet: Eddie Thornton, Ian Hamer & Les Condon
- Saxophone: Alan Branscombe & Peter Coe
This song just sticks with ya!!!!! Love every second of it!!!
The only reason the minions movie is worth anything
Beautiful song and happy too.
Soy el unico que habla español
Even though the Beatles were going for a Motown sound, I think they inadvertently created the jazz rock brass sound that later would be popularized by Blood Sweat & Tears and Chicago.
